How tedious! Do they seriously think customers want to wait around all day? Other than it's a brilliant deal!

Seriously? You had to wait for them to put out more stock? It really sucks to be you doesn't it!

You're not living in the real world. We live in a capitalist society. … You're not living in the real world. We live in a capitalist society. It's everyone for themselves, particularly at a time when the economy's still not back on its feet. Be nice to your fellow man, yes, but think about yourself first, because no-one else will. And who says this scanner guy even heard about the HMV deal through HUKD anyway? Is HUKD the only deal-sharing site on the internet? Is HUKD the only way of finding out about High Street deals? As I said before, it's up to HMV to put a stop to eBayers clearing out stock. Live in a lovey-dovey, kindly, sharing world all you like, but there are people out there trying to make a living. And good luck to them. And if some people are too slow getting to the store or inhibited about buying shop stock to sell on for a profit, then tough, I have no sympathy. It's survival of the fittest.

...said the guy with the barcode scanner.

Is HMV ever going to just close

So, you`d like to see hundreds of people out of work would you? You sound nice.

    dandoc2

sick of all these deals that only exist in one store in the whole uk.

You seem to have missed the 9 pages (400 odd comments) from folk all over the country who managed to get this deal.

    dandoc2

The shop sucks it's overpriced and should just disappear to only only !

I don`t know where `Only only` is, but it`s not HMV, or their staff`s fault that you didn`t get in early enough to get a bargain.

    dandoc2

    Rant over

Sounded more like whining than ranting to me.

Great sale, pretty good selection in Dundee. Bad mouthing of the staff on this post is faintly ridiculous!

"Wah! They refuse to scan every blu ray in the store because I've read something on the Internet! Wah! Also, my diamond shoes are too tight and no-one has change for my hundred dollar bills! Wah!"

I'd like to share a positive story, the nice girl at the counter even put through the blu ray audio version of Led Zeppelins celebration day because it got put in the sale bit by mistake : )

Would highly recommend The Descendants if nobody has it - one of my favourite films of last year, and possibly Alexander Payne's (Sideways, Election, About Schmidt) best film yet.

Anything else there dunlop? Is this in Fopp too? If it is I might send a friend down to Fopp to see what there is.

I asked the lad to check prices for me as they weren't priced as 4 for 10 & he said he would hv to type them all in manually, then, typically he cldnt get machine to work & said sorry he cldnt believe they wld be in the offer & went to serve someone else... must be a Suffolk thing!?!

To be fair if its not stickered then its not in the offer. I'm amazed at the amount of people who feel hard done by because their store didn't have as great a selection as others. Also, all these comments on certain stores selection as being 'woeful' and 'rubbish', its 4 for £10! £2.50 is a bargain for almost any blu ray. I picked up entourage season 6, not as good as bagging boardwalk empire but for heavens sake it's £2.50. Stop moaning about what could have been and enjoy what's available!
  14. tiggerloveslife's avatar
    slruparelia

Who says you can't just move some of the stickers..

Heck why stop at half measures...why not just stuff some under your arms and walk out of the store and then start running really fast? Then you don't have to worry about 4 for £10 stickers on items as you could just take whatever you wanted and saves you some time instead of having to move stickers.

I honestly don't know. I expected to pay £50 for 20 items, and he said "That'll be ten pounds then, please."

I just kept quiet and paid the man, then quickly left the shop!

    Or the Reading store?

Just been to the Reading store, they have a poor selection of stuff stickered but I bought 4 that were unstickered but mentioned in this thread and they all worked

The very friendly staff told me that each store has an allocated list of products they can sticker but the unstickered items still go through the till.

Just bought 8 Box sets from merry hill for £20! Amazing deal. Did try some not on the list but they did not work. They aren't labelled though you need to just ask them to try for you, the guy was really friendly but I didn't want to pester him trying different ones

£30 for the lot from Staines branch Thanks. Especially since i've been looking for digital and UV copies of stuff for when I go abroad.

All were sealed; though I had opened a few before I took this pic. Also all are bluray except for the Mammoth Collection. (edited)

I agree that people who just try and buy everything off the shelf are out of order. This is a community site don't forget! We all find deals and offers on here posted by other people... but to then try and use it to make a quid few quid isn't fair on the rest of the people who find deals on here.

Some of what we managed to get. (Not including Modern Family 1+2, Simpsons season 12, Peter Pan

As far as box sets some still available in Plymouth such as The Wire, Entourage, Luck, Two and a Half Men & others (Not to my taste). Disney available including Toy Story 2. Lots of Night at the museum 2, Ice Age, Samsara etc. Worth a look.

Thanks OP, found lots of great stuff and also encouraged me to some christmas shopping (..Ive said it now.)

The staff were clearly told to put a few out every 20 minutes or so, which is just absurd. It's not their fault, as they clearly instructed to do this. I don't think it's asking for to much to just let us browse or do you think I'm pushing the envelope a bit there? Can't think of a perfect analogy to use, but that's like getting six donuts but being handed one per 20 mins and so on.

The perfect analogy is: someone who has never worked in a shop before, getting impatient about people who do.
Retail is the pits - unfortunately, it's dealing general public that makes it so.
