Apparently the 7735h doesn't perform very good... even the 6800h outperform this one. Still a great deal with an awesome screen!!! Qhd and 500 nits. Can not ask anything better.
    hotfinder's avatar
But it's not even QHD I'm afraid.

Can't work out if this has hdmi output. Does anyone know?
    zeoxzy's avatar
HDMI 2.1 & Thunderbolt 4. Probably located at the back of the laptop

If you’re looking for high FPS rates then this isn’t going to cut it with this CPU as it doesn’t perform well. There is another variation of this which uses the Ryzen 7840hs processor which is recommended if you’re looking for FPS performance in demanding games

Right. If they were the same price, I'd agree. But I don't think they are, so it's like saying get it with a 12700h. Obviously it better because it's more expensive. Tbh would rather save the cash. Put it in the kitty for the next laptop. (edited)

This or a G15 with i7-13650hx for 50 pound less refurbished? Struggling to decide
    skeptic's avatar
The G15 is very heavy and the power brick also, it's what puts me off

Can anyone share an opinion on which would be more suited to a teenager who games for long periods of time, a gaming laptop or Gaming PC (he likes FPS & RPG games both online/offline). I can't see the need for a gaming laptop if he's going to predominantly play games in his room! 🤷‍♂️

Yeah you hit nail on head, if mobility not needed, you will mostly be saving costs and opening options by getting a desktop. Many options available including micro PCs now

Great deal done with macbooks had 2 mac book pros purchased 2019/2020 from very one failed after 14 months other just died 2 months ago both uneconomical to repair as everything onboard and ssd welded in to motherboard...so can't even retrieve any data.Defo took a step back in design or a step forward in turnover for Apple..

Strategically designed with a predetermined shelf life.

This has helped them to become one the richest company in the World.
    Worth $2,929,000,000,000 and counting.

Got this a few months ago. The display is excellent for the price. It's a chunky and heavy laptop along with the big power brick. Battery life is decent for everyday tasks, can probably get an hour and a half out of a heavy gaming session.

Is the ram upgradeable or soldered on?

Here are the full and official specifications for this model: acer.com/gb-…001

The screen is WUXGA 1920 x 1200, so yes, Very has errors in the title and description.
    hotfinder's avatar
Yep. Their product description is misleading, although the tech specs do state:

    16" 1920 x 1200 / WUXGA @ 165 Hz - matte

Ive got an Acer Nitro 5 from 2018. i5 8th gen with a 1050. Not sure how its going well until now even when plugged in sometimes 24/7. And its frequently ON the whole day. Although i have stopped playing any big game and mostly use cloud game services now, its amazing how well its lasted however ive noticed some screen burning issues since the last 3 months.
Just a note, I paid like £700 for it in 2018 (edited)
    skeptic's avatar
Ooh interesting cloud gaming, is that good? Saves spending 1k on a laptop?

Good price. Just got a laptop with the 4060 and a 13650hx myself and it performs great. Runs relatively intensive games very well
    Jake_Ckc's avatar
    What laptop did you get?
  16. Jake_Ckc's avatar
Interested in this, did notice that the screen is 1080p rather than the QHD advertised.

Is this less of a deal because of that fact?
    hotfinder's avatar
I’d say so. False advertising from Very
