Original Umi Diamond X 5" Android 6.0 Mobile Phone (Quad Core, 2GB RAM, 16GB Storage, 4G, 8MP Camera) £48.06 Delivered @ AliExpress

Bit late now for Christmas if you use standard shipping, but this seems like a pretty decent spec'd phone for the price! Available in Black / Gold.

Seems like a lot of phone for very little money. Still available for $59.99 on the site with 20-40 days delivery to UK. All the main bands seem present in terms of 4g and yes Aliexpress hold on to your money until the item arrives and you check it works.
Hi can anyone advise trying to order but it's saying can not ship to the uk .....?

Xiaomi Mi5 Pro White Ceramic 4GB/128GB £279.47/£255 after cashback @ AliExpress / Store: Hong Kong Goldway

processor is more efficient and I forgot to mention the battery is larger too so overall better battery performance on the s version
edit: then again, the cheapest mi5s I could find (in grey) is £335 which is much more than this cost and if it is worth the extra cash is up to you. I'm personally going to wait until the mi5s's price drops to about £300ish which may take a month or 2 :D
edit 2: the build quality is actually quite important to me as I will be using my next phone for a couple of years (until it pretty much dies). the mi5 has very poor quality and the back is a fingerprint magnet with it being glass and all so I would avoid it, initially I liked the mi5 over the mi5s too but the new design slowly grew on me.
I'll bite the bullet. Still I believe Mi is one of the best quality/price brands there is on the market. Probably more safer than this - http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/instrumental-galaxy-note-7-teardown-news/ as well

Edit: Just watched Jimmy rig everything, seems he tested the standard version of the Mi5. Hopefully ceramic will help. Impressed by the Mi Mix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CZj-l9MJmg !!

ceramic is more brittle than glass so when it comes to bending or falling it certainly won't help with cracks but it will help with scratches. as for the colour, there is a black bezel around the screen which is VERY visible on all the colours except for black. one trick to hide the bezels would be with a black wallpaper but this won't work when you're in an app. personally I prefer the black version too.

I would have bought this instantly if it was the black version.
Why do you prefer it to white?

It's just a personal preference. Almost every phone, and other piece of tech I have bought, has been black.

Hopefully the black version will see a price drop soon, now that the mi5s is out.

Thanks for posting the deal anyway. I voted it 'hot'.

No band 20 though which they have on one of their cheaper phones so why not this.

Please remember that marking items as Gifts does not carry any weight in terms of customs duty anymore. Were any item exceeds the threshold of £15 as at the last time I checked, duty is liable. The only reason why many find that they don't end up having to pay duty is as a result of using standard delivery and Royal Mail having huge numbers of letters and or parcels to sort. Whereas, DHL and UPS will check each and every parcel and apply duty plus charges as and when required. Im sure fabricating the value of the item in order to evade duty is also an offence but who will be ultimately liable is questionable.
Thanks for the response. The Note is 5.5" screen and I think that is the same size as the Samsung 7 edge which I find slightly too large hence why looking for the 5" screens which an 1" larger than the iphone 5.

Reviews for both seem decent, with the 4 being 1080p whilst the 3 720p the major difference to me...
Newer usually means better, but the Note 3 refresh is faster than several of the newer models, so I dont know.
I have the Note3 Pro/SE, which has full UK LTE support, for £120 I got a lot of phone - 3GB RAM/32GB ROM, new hexa-core cpu, and just stuck a 128GB microSD card in it for photos, music and films.

The only real issue is that it is slightly (~3mm) longer than the original Note 3, so the cases dont fit very well.
I am about to buy a Xiaomi budget phone purely to replace my iphone 5 16gb as I am really annoyed it cannot hold many pictures or run many apps as I always get memory issues (I only have The Walking Dead - Road to Survival).

What is the difference between the Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime on a previous post Your text here and this Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro?

They are the same price pretty much and would like to make an order soon but I cannot tell the difference and forgive me if I am wrong, but because the number 4 is I am assuming the newer version, does this make it better?
All the usual stupid HUKD comments about 800 MHz (4G Band 20) being for O2.
ALL UK NETWORKS USE IT TO SOME EXTENT.

These are good value for money devices. But lacking that Band 20 is key. Even on a carrier like Three which uses more than just Band 20 there will be areas where the lack of it will mean you're limited to 3G speeds. For some this isn't a thing. For me it is. Where I work I get 3G speeds of about 6mb and about 75mb on 4G. That's the dealbreaker right there. The area I work in uses Band 20 so if it's missing I'm limited to 3G.
As stated above the Cat12 misinformation is nonsense, but the OP3 does have all the major UK Bands and is not hamstrung in any way.
willmyphonework.net for peace of mind.

Heat for deal, not for device.

This is just idiots galore. Buying phones with missing UK 4g bands.
depends which network you're on surely? if you're on 3 or EE this will be fine
To him it's not dependant on network. He cannot comprehend that no band 20 is still suitable for some others. In his mind no band 20 = no UK bands = phone is essentially a tablet = it only works in India and China. He posts the same thing is almost every phone thread that lacks B20 and won't accept that people can use these phones perfectly fine and fully functioning, in UK.
Band 800 is with every UK network. It will not work at fast Lte cat 12 speed because of missing bands so no carrier aggregation not possible. Just do your research than be touts of Chinese products made for China only.

This comment is even more funny now considering you're recommending OnePlus and calling others idiots.
Selling Chinese products in UK made to work only in China and India is not correct. Oneplus is covering all UK bands and sells and warranty on its phones. Not grey product like this imported without manufacturer involvement or warranty.

"Just do your research". *Sigh*... like the research you did in determining OnePlus 3 cuts corners since you were so adamant about stating that in your Asus thread even though you ended up getting one? Also what research made you come to the conclusion that a phone which supports TDD-LTE is wasting more battery? Since clearly your "research" must be top notch for you to buy a phone you criticised so much.

How exactly does the fact UK networks use 800mhz or anything to do with LTE speeds, equate to "no UK bands"? How does lack of ONE 4G band make a phone a tablet? How is it that a phone "made to work only in China" can be used in UK perfectly fine. And what relevance is cat 12 LTE speeds when only select few flagships have the technology to even utilise it and no UK networks even supply it?

Even OnePlus 3 with 800mhz can't access cat 12 LTE because it doesn't have the x12 modem, it has x7. But you're saying lack of 800mhz means "It will not work at fast Lte cat 12 speed because of missing bands" lol. EE only started rolling out cat 9 whereas Vodafone, O2 and Three have no plans yet but you speak of inability to access cat 12 lte speeds because of missing bands and you're telling me to do my research...

You also need to add in the warranty, you can't order from Aliexpress without it.
Good price but not unusual. Also, this is the X20 not X25 and custom roms are very limited with mediatek

to avoid warranty change delivery locstion to usa before adding to basket, when paying change delivery location to uk....warranty not added on.
There was an Aliexpress new customer voucher available at the weekend - I got $10 off my 32 gb Mi Max - delivered for £137, no warranty and either £13 or £17 Quidco depending if they notice that they've tracked the cashback in £ based on the $ value - and it's coming over the Himalayas on a donkey so shouldn't attract any customs attention as it sneaks into the UK.

Before anyone asks, its a voucher linked to my account so no discount code available.
Great price.

None if you chose the 10-20 days standard delivery. Ordered over 30 items from China and never paid any extra fees. My 2 Xiaomi note pro 3 international version just arrived today, I ordered from Aliexpress on the 11th Nov.

Ordered many many times from China (Aliexpress, Fasttech, Gearbest etc) using regular mail and NEVER been charged customs fees and associated charges. Used DHL twice and got charged 20% plus fee both times - there won't be a third!
Good price OP. It's Xiaomi however (you misspelled).

Ditto. If you want the very best chance of avoiding customs then it's the slow boat from China every time.

PS IF the Quidco pays out as per the figure quoted in the OP, this is an absolute beast of a bargain for the spec you are getting. Still a great deal if Quidco fails.

Is the performance higher than its competitors at a price to performance perspective? The moto G4, xperia e5 and lg g3 are all going for the same price, I just want the best performing one (most snappy) with a decent os and battery life.
This also has really guild build quality, finger print scanner, 50% more ram and the processor benchmarks over twice as fast:
RN3 Pro: Basemark X: 14717 Moto G4 :Basemark X: 6932
And also the graphics card is loads better on this too.
And a 4,000 Mah Battery vs a 3,000 MAH on the g4, however this is a long wait from china and a g4 is available and supported locally (but more expensive)
Was about to say 25-40 days wait!! lol if only I had the patience, but will probably just pay a few quid extra if I find someone selling for a good price on Ebay
it is easily the most "worth the wait" phone if you can handle it.
IMO it beats £500-600 flagships.
but yes.. the delay is a little annoying.
amin.. which one u suggest..
this one or redmi note 4 prime ??

Hiya, Thanks for the question.
I recommend this Phone over the Redmi note 4 big time.

This Phone uses a Qualcomm 650 SoC and the note 4 prime uses MTK Helio X20 SoC

Mobile phone processors are called SoC's (System-on-A-Chip) for this reason: The cpu, Graphics card, Radio/model/ Cache and all the key computer system components are on a SINGLE CHIP!!

Qualcomm is a reputable SoC Brand who's Chips are used in ALL the leading smartphones except Samsung (Samsung make their own chips).

MediaTek is a budget Chinese brand that makes the chips for all the cheap and tacky Chinese phones with really bad build quality. (built for domestic market)

So the Heart of This phone on this thread is a good quality processor and modem/graphics that is used by many big western brands too.

The heart of the Redmi note 4 is the same chip that powers many low end badly supported tacky Chinese brands.

Now, in day to day use will you notice a difference? Maybe not.. but I would put my money on the Qualcom chip.

well this has an extra gb or ram compared to the g4 & g3 and i'm sure the e5 only has 1.5gb ram
How about the processor, you have any knowledge of that? What phone does it compare to interms of performance? S7,S6?
it compares to galaxy s6 i have the standard version (no band 20) of this phone have had it since its launch in february on antutu it scores 78000 my son has galaxy s6 edge and his scores 82000 the lg g3 scores 34000 and the moto g4 45000 so this phones is way above those in terms of performance and i highly recommend this phone and i for one love the miui 8 interface

Have a check on CamelCamelCamel to see if Amazons price trends on the product have gone lower. Often around this time of year you will see inflated prices, if not in any hurry look at the trends and you can work out a likely time for the next price drop

I made a comment in another thread about geekbuying vote manipulation. Exact same price as GeekBuying yet this receives minus votes and that recieves 700+ heat. A bit wierd if you ask me.Exact same deal 700+ heat :|
Check out post #359
Like I said in reply to your other post , if you buy from Geekbuying using PayPal you have the same protection from paypal as you would from buying it ali. AliExpress don't allow paypal. I think you've made your point, and don't know why you feel the need to repeat yourself everywhere.

I think you have a bit of a confirmation bias. This is the 3rd comment of yours I've seen today, each mentioning your thoughts on Geekbuying. The Redmi 4A deal which you posted on, is the cheapest new Xiaomi phone to date. Xiaomi phones are generally popular here. I don't think the retailer had impact on heat. You're suggesting vote manipulation, then what about this deal for another Redmi 4 model from Geekbuying? You suggest people are leaving fake reviews when the top comment on that 700+ deal is from a person who's a member for 9 years, has near 500 comments, has never posted a Geekbuying deal and doesn't even state they bought theirs from Geekbuying. The 700+ deal was post at almost the same time as this deal which got nearly 400 despite being £10 more. The Geekbuying deal is mentioned in the comments which would have made it look even more enticing. However, this deal is £2 less than Geekbuying by deliberately excluding warranty cost. Otherwise it's around £158.
I've voted hot but have learnt to my cost the risks of buying phones from China. My Ulefone Vienna went kaput after 3 months and the cost of returning it meant it wasn't worth the hassle. That said it was the 3rd China phone I've had and the first with any issues.

Wii2HDMI (Nintendo Wii) - £3.26 @ Aliexpress / Shenzhen MJT Technology Co., Ltd

Bought one just like this two weeks ago and it's a must for those that still use their Wiis to play GameCube or Wii games. It definitely improves the picture quality a lot.

use one of these, no issues.
I've used one of these for years, always been fine. However one thing to note is the audio is over driven - It'll sound really loud and somewhat distorted, to fix that simply plug in a set of headphones into the jack at the back of the adapter. Sound will still come through the HDMI still, but now the sound will be fine.

EVEN Cheaper without box here
works out around £2.47
Damn. Didn't see this one.
This shows as £2.92 for me, anyone else?
from the sample... seems to be a bit brighter but also seems to produce more 'jaggies'
tbh the component signal seems smoother but moot point if no component input!

Heat. I notice there is a separate 3.5mm audio output. Presumably the audio is still carried on the main HDMI output and the 3.5mm output is just an additional audio source?
That seems to be the idea, I don't use the 3.5mm audio output it has.

Edit: When connected to the Wii it also shows up a blue cool light for some reason.

That's actually really useful to know, thanks. I'm not sure usb2 would suffice, and adds to the cost, but a decent solution.

No ethernet, which is unfortunately why it's not a consideration here.
The USB 2.0 at the back supports USB to Ethernet adapters, but then you're robbed of the USB 2.0 port, which may be another reason to exclude it.

Surely you could buy a 3GB S912 box for this price?
This an Official Android TV box and use better components than those cheapo android boxes
I wouldn't exactly say "better" components - looking at it, it may even be an Amlogic S905 underneath, meaning it would be the same as the "cheapo android boxes".
Providing it's the same as this http://www.xiaomidevice.com/xiaomi-mi-box-3rd.html, then it will be the same.
Apart from guaranteed updates, the voice remote and running official Android TV software, this is no different to the other boxes and mainly overpriced in comparison.
As I say, you can buy a S912 box for the same price with 3GB RAM and possibly 16GB Storage.

Bit late to this, and looks like I haven't missed the deal. But I thought I'd add this to the discussion:

Assuming it's the same 4K box as this: http://www.mi.com/en/mibox/ the big selling point for me over a cheap S9xx box isn't necessarily the build quality or Android version, but the fact that it has full Google Cast support. So I get the benefit of cast support (which my existing S9xx box doesn't have) that you'd have to pay £25ish for in a Google Chromecast 2, or (and I can't confirm 4K casting is a thing with this box) £65ish for the 4K Google Chromecast Ultra.

My only issue when ordering from China is whether you actually get what you think you've ordered... for example, this version of the Mi Box is 4k and looks identical to the newer box running Androif TV 6.0, but is Android 4.4, has a lower spec, and doesn't support Google Cast:
http://www.xiaomidevice.com/xiaomi-mi-box-4k-tv-box-s802-quad-core-2gb-android-4-4-bluetooth-4-0.html

As far as I can tell, Xaomi aren't selling the new box on their website yet?
£50-£60 elsewhere..
No ethernet, which is unfortunately why it's not a consideration here.

alooking for a 4G tablet after my sony Xperia Z tablet gave in. Any recommendations?
I currently have a lenovo tablet with 1gb ram on kit kat and fancy an upgrade, this looks like an interesting option.
how does this perform as an android device primarily? - the windows side is an added bonus that would be used sporadically (I have a windows 10 pc and asus transformer for pc and work needs.)
Not sure if they're still sold, but I got the Hi8 version with keyboard in January and been using it as a daily driver. Very reliable, 1080p screen, 4GB RAM, 64GB SSD. Solid piece of kit
Is this any good compared to something like a lenovo tab 2 A10?
"Original", because they're going to make copies of copies lol
