Crazy that this is basically cheaper than 5800x3d

Lots of demand for 5800X3D as it's a great upgrade for AM4 gamers.

This is a smoking price for the 5950X though. (edited)

Thanks OP this price is basically as low as we will ever see for this chip..... Great for 3D renders.

7800X3D doesn't work with that motherboard. Get the 5950x if you can use all the threads but in most cases you can save money and get a 5700x / 5800x.

    Not for new builders

A really good deal if you’re on the AM4 platform. Just bought a 5900x as a like for like replacement for my 3900x. I would have loved this, and for all the number crunchers out there it’s a great cost performance buy.

Are these processors compatible with all AM4 boards? I'm sure I read about issues with vrm's over-heating on B450s even though they are supposed to be compatible with a bios update.

Each motherboard VRM solution is different so worth checking the quality of your boards VRMs before using something like this.
Technically it's compatible with all b450, reality might be different when it's pushed 100% and the VRMs struggle

So many threads on AM4 , yummy.

Cheaper than the 7800x3d, is it better?

Not for gaming, depends what your use case is. You should only get this if you can absolutely have a good use for all the extra cores and threads.

    Hate those deals.
Already on 5900x for year, don't need to upgrade at all, yet considering it
