Strange to think that only a few years ago, a tubed 26" TV was considered big.
Now, a 43" is considered small !

To be fair, I wouldn't call 43" small, more "Conventional Size" now.

The biggest pain with these TV's is that the 4k @ 60hz HDMI inputs are on the back of the panel and rearwards facing which is a nuisance if you want to wall mount.

We had a 40'' techwood 4k TV. People's faces had a strong yellow tinge that no amount of messing with the settings could change, then after about 6 months the TV just went off never to come on again one day midway through a football match.
Only positive is AO replaced it with a better TV.

I could have done with that yesterday watching Man City.

I have the 55'' 3d version of this tv and it is amazing. I dont know if this one will have the same panel in it though. Cant recommend highly enough. Its as good as my mates Samsung which cost about £500 more. Also i noticed that the rear of the tv is the same as a Finlux so could be made by the same company.

I got this with the Nespresso subscription and still have a U. Personally I found the U put out better testing coffee and although this Touch model is a breeze to make milky drinks and clean, I don't find it in use it often, mainly just for Espresso or Lungo.

This is not the 'Touch' model !
This - and also the one I got from Currys - is the 521 Latissima+ (with 4 not 6 buttons).

I like it, and it does seem better with Lidl capsules than the auto-load and unload U. (Which is just as well because the design of the internal used capsules & drips tray is pathetic compared to the U.)

Is this better than the ones with a separate frother?

It is different.
This uses steam to froth the milk - akin to most coffee shops. The separate 'aeroccino' is an electric heater with a motorised whisk. You do need to press-button steam flush this after use. Cleaning the electric ones can be more of a faff (and be careful with the non-stick!) Aldi and Lidl have sold their own electric coffee frothers for around £20 so it is something that can be added later. (But its only 3x£15 credit for buying a no-milk machine during the offer.)
With this one, you can take off the milk unit and you have an 'ordinary' machine that takes up just a little more counter space than the espresso-only machines. It also runs from a single plug!

As an old machine design this can store two 'lengths' of espresso and two of espresso + milk. Current ones have six programmable buttons, not four.

It is manual load and unload. My current motor-driven 'U' model seems particularly fussy about some clone cartridges, but does have three programmable coffee-length buttons. I only use the really short one for pre-warming and flushing.
Different capsules are optimised for short, longer or really short coffees. But ALL are espresso. It you don't like or want decent espresso, don't buy this. It is for espresso (and espresso derived) coffees ONLY. And it is about getting decent espresso with minimal fuss or skill - you may hear 'experts' saying they can get a better shot from their machine, but the question is could you and would you be bothered with all the fuss that they seem to enjoy.

Lidl's capsules are OK at half the price of the excellent genuine Nespressos.
It is a pity that Lidl's best ones (in my opinion) are sold only in mainland Europe and not the UK. 'Viola' and 'Palermo" bear comparison with the Nespresso originals. UK gets three different blends, Europe a choice of seven (at my last count).

Last point, this machine is also currently back in stock at the same £99 at Currys (for those who dislike AO).

Yesterday I counted seven different brands (each offering plural blends) of Nespresso compatible pods in my local Sainsburys. They aren't much cheaper than the originals, and I've found few clones that both worked well in my machine and that I liked.

Rcr get a loud sound bar as well
I bought the 55in version of this tv ( paid £260 for it ) for the little one to watch cbb etc.We fitted it onto the wall with a £20 bracket from Amazon. Net cost of under £300. The picture quality is actually pretty decent ( we have a 4k tv in our bedroom - to use for comparison ). You need to fiddle with the settings. It also plays movies from usb and hard-drives. The sound is awful but you can adjust it to slightly less awful or just buy a soundbar. I am thinking of buying this for the old dear - she is blind as a bat and just watches the news 24/7.X)

Asking people to pick a tv size for your room is like asking someone what you should be wearing today. Every one will have an opinion and none may be right for you.
Get a measure and figure out what you think is the right size for you. It wont take long and you will buy something that is right for you.

Not asking to pick a TV for my room. Was just trying to find out if someone has such big TV in a small or whether such big TV would suit the room.

Is this TV too big for a room that is 330 cm long and 280 cm wide. If (yes), what would be a good TV size for a room of the above measurement.
that's a 3.2m x 2.8 - this will be like a cinema screen in there...
What size is good? depends where you put but imo 46-48" - my bedroom is a bit bigger and I have a 42 in there which is plenty big for the room.

What do you mean by depend where I put the TV. Are you saying I could get away with a 58inches in a 3.2 by 2.8 if I put the TV on the longest part of the room.

slliw
On image retention taken from the hdtvtest website on reviewing the oled LG E6V
'To minimise the risk of image retention and screenburn, like the previous generations of LG OLED televisions, the E6 will automatically dim its light output in a gradual manner after static elements (channel logos, test patterns, etc.) have been present on screen for more than one minute 105 seconds. The auto-dimming happens so slowly that most viewers probably won’t notice it until they need to perform user menu action, in which case the screen will brighten up suddenly as the auto-dimming is halted.'
That sounds like a workaround hack. :(
Also there is flickering (like when you have a migraine) momentarily on busy screens when it automatically tries to upscale to 4K, which you can't turn off. Advice from customer services, always use it on game mode as it's the only one that doesn't do it.

It really has it flaws. But still love it:
Raised a call with LG support services. 3-6 week wait between communications and their best advice was to restore factory settings. Really disappointed.
leejackson85
Having had this tv for just under a year and paying £2300 for it, this is a great deal.
Love the TV but the image burn on it is terrible. After watching a channel with a logo (albeit bright white) for an hour a day, it's burnt in after only 2/3 weeks.

For a TV costing so much money, you wouldn't expect this kind of flaw. Would this not be covered under the warranty ? Does this happen with just this model or all OLEDs ?

I'm grappling with either this model, the 55m6600 for £494, or the 55m7000 for £670-odd.

The m3300 seems a great tv, but no HDR could be a deal breaker. The m7000 at £670 is a little more than I wanted (or can justify) to pay - is the m7000 really £200 better than the m6600? I'd appreciate it if anyone has an answer to the differences between models.

Would like to know this also
The Samsung KU6400 was the tv I had my eye on...its so much more expensive than this hisense set, though!

What's the HDR situation with this set?
It pays HDR files via usb 3.0 and over HDMI (with a newer update, which should be received as soon as the TV connects to the internet)
As far as I know, all this means it that HDR files can be played. Kinda like how a 720p TV might play 1080p files
In any case, 4k looks amazing. Maybe not as good as the £2000+ sets, but then, you didn't pay £2000+ either
A major problem is that the built in YouTube app did used to play the 4k videos, but this no longer is the case. No one knows why it stopped, or how to make it work again.

I think you're mistaken. HDR image files as in picture files do exist. However as an indigenous format there's only openEXR that I know of. I think in terms of HDR in TV's the processing is done by the television rather than playing a format with embedded HDR information. I could be wrong though I have been before.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenEXR

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-dynamic-range_video

For the geeks out there, it may be of interest to note the first real time HDR camera was created in 1990 by Georges Cornuéjols. The first time I was aware of HDR was when I played Half Life 2 and it was demonstrated specifically in that game.

Really tempted as for the money it'll suit me....undecided whether to go 50" or 55"? any advise!! when i bought my 42" panny plasma 10 years ago it looked huge. ive moved house since but sit quite a distance from the telly to be nearer to the log burner!! I Dont game or watch anything on Netflix. just switched to Virgin media though. Do they offer any 4K stuff? I'm not really TV savvy on all this media content...
The 55 definitely. I bought a Sony 49 last year and now wish I'd gone for the 60. As long as you have a decent size living room and are sitting at least 6 feet from the TV you can go up to 60 imo.

I was thinking about getting a Samsung tumble dryer
Samsung,LG,Miele are the best washing machines you can buy at this day and age.Bosch is hit and miss as some models are good but some cheaper models (I think made in Turkey) are to be avoided.

I wont even consider any other brand no matter how reluable and good they once were or how cheap they are.
This deal has now expired. The price for the washing machine has increased to £429 before any voucher code discounts. Glad I got mine in time. It was delivered yesterday and it's pretty neat! Yes the add wash door is a bit of a gimmick but it was still a great price on interest free credit as it worked out about the same price as a cheaper ecobubble on 19.9% finance deal.

Judging by the hundreds if not thousands of reviews on Reevoo, John Lewis, AO etc of people more than happy with their Samsung appliance, I think you'll be unlucky to have any problems.
Not saying problems don't exist, however they also happen with other manufacturers and perhaps more so with the likes of Indesit Hotpoint group, Hoover, White Knight. Unless you're buying a Miele you can't expect any appliance to last indefinitely and I would say Samsung are definitely a pretty safe bet with the 5 year Warranty too.

I figure there is always going to be a small subset of products that suffer a problem the main question is whether its a product wide problem but I couldn't agree more, the warranty pretty much makes it a no brainer.

I was thinking of going for this, I nipped in to john lewis for a look, but my local store only shows 4 manufacturers TVs, the salesman said they will price match with crampton, but I really want to see the TV in person first
Do you need HDMI 2.0 or are older 1.4's ok, I only have sky HD and a raspberry pi playing mkv's??..

Yeah cheers JAMESCANN I have had a mess with it but around the middle of the screen there is one big blotch like a very light puddle shape, I might see about sending it back for another, the other curved high sense I bought from Amazon last year doesn't have any light bleed
I had the same problem with clouding on my set and this is how I fixed it.Get a soft dry cloth and rub the screen in circular motions but it has to be fairly firmly but don't rub too hard and voila the clouding is gone.If this does not solve the problem, then return the set for an exchange or refund.Great TV BTW as I am over the moon with mine

Thanks a lot i did what you said and the screen is perfect now, they just disappeared, ok another question i have amazon prime and put the grand tour on via the amazon app built into the tv and it looks amazing but how do i get it to run in HDR as that box in the tv settings is grayed out, thanks for any help
Mine arrived yesterday. I am so pleased with it! Hooked to my sky Q box I've had it playing 4k movies and sport. It looks fantastic. Also been watching the 4k
videos on YouTube. Not had time to play with settings yet, but will get those tweaked too. Very pleased with this TV for less than £700.

LG PMI (Picture Mastering Index) 120Hz = 60Hz is the real refresh rate though
I think...
No, no it is 60Hz, PMI has nothing to do with it (it is simply a measure of how good it is in processing picture, it is similar to samsungs picture quality index and goes from 100 to 2100, with LG's oleds being in 2000s naturally)

Thanks! :)
I got the 58" hisense from John Lewis and it was terrible with the firmware it had preloaded. the offline version totally transformed the TV and it's now very good. Anyone looking to get hisense I suggest you check what the firmware is like before choosing over this tv

I have this one at home and was deciding for a while between this and a similar tv like you have.
The Sony tv you have has a really good panel but lacks all the bells or whistles of the new technology coming in (HDR, 4k,...). that said at this point in time it takes a decent amount of other tech investment to get the full value out of these new features,
- say pay 9£ a month instead of 6£ for uhd Netflix
- or have Amazon prime (80£ a year) (and both Netflix and Amazon still have fairly limited amount of content in 4k)
- 4k Blu rays look breathtaking on this tv, but they cost about 20£ each and you need a special 4k blu ray player cheapest of which is probably xbox one S... (PS4 pro doesn't do it), there is also a problem if you have speakers or home cinema setup which does not support HDCP 2.2, but I think just a soundbar should be ok.
- 0 piracy in 4k atm (there is some, but it is not much better than an upscale of fhd content)
So the answer to the question is this better than a quality fhd screen is yes if you are willing to pay for it and probably no if you only ever watch regular tv or normal blu rays as quality fhd will probably give you a better picture than this at fhd.
Hope it helps...

Thank you, that was extremely helpful and for the reasons you listed, this TV wouldn't be worthwhile for me. I have a PS4 so wouldn't be able to play 4k blu rays and could also do without spending additional money on Netflix upgrades etc.

Thanks again :)
Any Sky subscribers here? Can they give us their TV model number please? I believe the Sky model must be good and if this is one of them, it could be good!

Looks like the water chiller only takes up small amount, can not see the point of these water chillers or ice makers, just use ice cubes and no plumbing needed.
Use to do refrigeration and the ice makers(in bars) always a hassle to fix and for being unreliabile .
