So, if you've already pre-ordered it in store, is it likely to be this price too?

Nope.

Instore and online are two different things.

I'm not buying it for more than £30...
#4
Just ordered. If I get it cheaper instore, I will send this back.

Great Price anyway.

I think what I was trying to say was that online, it's £39.90 (xbox) before the code, so will it be £39.90 as store price?
#6
based on the price that is currently being asked by other retailers I am voting hot. If its cheaper in future then so be it but at the moment this is a good deal

There is no correlation between the two.

Nope.Instore and online are two different things.

Starr is right - they're 2 different things, meaning you likely won't know price until you go pick it up. Generally they are the same - but as it costs a company more to stock game in a store rather than a warehouse and people will often pay more to be able to pick the item up rather than relying on post, it may be more in store.

Tesco have run a nationwide newspaper advert with the price as £39.90 so it seems a reasonable assumption at this point.

We can hope for a launch day price war though.

NICE! Thanks mate - pre-ordered until we hear about the supermarkets ;)

Thanks, just ordered :)

Thanks Hot ordered.
#13
if pre order on line can it get delivered to store for the discounted price for pick up ??

if not and it gets sent direct to house ..when will it be delivered ??
#14
Whats tesco like for preorders? Do they take money straight away like asda? Do they deliver a day early? No positive feedback on asda so cancelled my preorder and awaiting refund, may try this.
#15
Holding out for a repeat of last year on this one, even if it means taking a couple of hours off work next week to get in on the deal action.

No COD title is worth more than 30 quid anyway.
#16
Bully, my experience - Halo reach a day early, MW2 a day late.
#17
Someone in Tesco told me this is going to price war, so will be cheaper on the day I reckon. Hopefully sainsburys will beat them all again and do it for about £27
#18
Made the mistake of pre ordering last year for mw2 didnt get it on day of release and supermarkets sold it for sub £30 so i'll hang on see what move they make
#19
I thought sometime recently Tesco said that if you pre ordered this and the price dropped they would honour the lower price?
#20
I ordered Halo Reach through Tesco, came a day early and I don't think they charged until dispatched. Seems a lot better than Asda.

Thing is, I've already got an Amazon Pre-order, who tend to go down to the cheapest price.
Think I might pre-order both, and return one maybe.
#21
Just tested this code out for PC DVD version - brings price down to £29.99 delivered. Cheapest price I had seen for the PC before applying this promotion was at Coolshop for £31.77!

'every little helps!'

I did that with Argos but cancelled the night before release date and bought from Morrisons for £26. Argos took the game back and then refunded me the full amount within a week.

Just pre-ordered mine. It's by far the best deal i've came across! =))

Not if you use a discount code...
#25
Just looked on Tesco website & it says delivery 1 - 2 weeks.????? Whats that about?
#26
Meh, I preordered 2 already, 1 for me and 1 for my brother, I got 1 from game and 1 from asda, I still think the asda deal is better, you get a free t-shirt and strategy guide and the game one I got game points, quidco and a free pre-order pack

Thanks for that, have ordered, will also order from another supplier ,if tesco copy arrives late i presume no problem sending back for a refund if sealed.

Sainsburys are going to be selling it at £25 instore on release day i've heard, this has also be confirmed by several people who work at Sainsbury so i'd hold fire until then!

I really don't know whether to order at this price or just wait til release and see what the supermarkets do.

Like 'Mcmacslim' Ive read/heard that it'll be £25 in Sainsburys so I think I'll hold out for that. This is where I read it anyhoo:

Tempting!!
#33
Gotta be worth holding out for the supermarkets surely. Depends when they announce prices though - wasn't until midnight on the day of release Morisson's announced theirs for MW2. Bit late to cancel by then I'd imagine.
#34
This is getting hot, i remember when there use to be prices lower than this months ago and didnt get quite hot for e.g the tesco 15% off inc the £5 off pre order which went down to around £30 i thinks, BTW what people heard are misleading because we find out the day they find out.

I pre-ordered Fifa 10 from Tesco then they announced the instore price more than £6 cheaper. I had an email from Tesco saying that my pre-order would be charged at the same new price available instore even though my order had already been dispatched and received a refund for the difference.

So saying the online and store are two different things is not true.

Nice work.

Incorrect. There was an advert in The Mirror last week advertising this game for £39.90 in-store.
#39
There is bound to be a supermarket promotion running on this, especially as it is the run up to Christmas.

I aint paying more than £30 for it either.

Any hints of any reviews yet ?

Think I'll hold out until release day then.
