My P8 isn't. 1 sim, 1 microsd.

apparently you can hack it so that the microsd slot can be used by a second sim. The asian version of this phone comes with this capability as standard (and no sd slot).
good phone, good value, good size, fast. BUT the 4g modem seriously drains the battery.

and the huawei interface is a copy of the iphone. I've done away with it and use novalauncher, BUT it doesn't show full content from notifications on the lock screen (eg text message words, or music controls) regardless. which is a pain.

i got mine from CPW for £150 in march. not sure i'd pick another up at £200, but good value if you need a phone quickly.

My P8 isn't. 1 sim, 1 microsd.
The P9 lite is definitely a better phone specs wise (faster more efficient CPU & GPU, bigger battery, finger print sensor) but poorer screen protection (non corning gorilla glass which is a real finger print magnet) which can be rectified by tempered glass screen protectors. The consensus seems that current full P8 users do not find it worthwhile to "upgrade" to P9 lite but the full P9 is a different fish altogether (but then it is over £150 more expensive). I have upgraded my son to P9 lite from the EE offer and taken over his P8 (which I bought from the CPW offer) and we agree that the P9 lite is slightly better (other than the glass).

The P9 lite has dual sim capability but it is a hybrid (i.e. you have to sacrifice the micro SD slot for the 2nd sim) and UK models have this disabled. it can be enabled using toolkit from xda forum but it isn't a easy thing to do
My P8 isn't. 1 sim, 1 microsd.
Blackbox2342. If samseng is right then it's worth checking out the p9 lite as I think it got pretty good reviews.

Last Saturday Alcatel pixi 4 (5) was £39.99 + £10 topup, I have asked their Canary Wharf store and they have confirmed me that price,I went on Sunday again to buy but they said that price has gone up? I was surprised that every making deal for Black Friday but Cpw makes us fool to buy their special made price,

Prices change, and the cpw week starts on a Sunday so prices can change between a Saturday and Sunday. Should have bought it on the day. It also might be that they don't want to sell it on PAYG as there are no real targets and pennies on commision for a PAYG sale. Also you will get a survey text on the free SIM that comes with it and more often than not people give low scores just for a joke, and that affects commision. I used to work there.
Oooo my Cold X)
Has this gone cold because it's winter?
I guess the other listed phones are cheaper then before then...

Quick advice for everyone who is thinking of purchasing from Carphone Warehouse.
DON'T... if you have the option to buy from John Lewis instead for the same price. (and i'm not even talking about extended warranty which is a another benefit) but purely because "Sim Free" phones from Carphone Warehouse or anywhere else will get LOCKED to the first sim you put in... BUT from John Lewis is a FACTORY UNLOCKED phone so you can put in any different sim you like as many times as you want. No locking to any network provider.
Your Welcome!
Its only for iphones. Other phones are trully unlocked

Someone who is correct well done you.Iphones lock to the 1st SIM placed into them the other phones don't.

If only they had done a deal on 128GB.

Still on the fence, as can also combine with Curry's voucher codes - effectively a further 8% off. Or alternatively trying to find out if there is a staff discount.
I voted cold. Hoping this phone doesn't sell well and more deals to come soon!
Had a play with one, and compared it to my loverly, new Yotaphone 2. Only one of those phones looks like a special £500+ phone and it's Russian. (It's Niche, but fits my niche nicely).
Pixel runs very speedily but screen, build, sound, seems very mehh for the money.
Same price in Currys/PC World.
Heat as the cheapest price around. but its not worth it. Google just change the name to pixel and jack up the price by £200. i mean this is just basically the new Nexus 6P which is just £420 last year. and lack many features of flagship at that price such as water/dust resistant, SD card support etc

This is incorrect. I tried to buy it at this price from CPW today. The £99.99 price was only a web promotion. Since there is no online stock, the remaining few in stores are still at £149.99. I spoke to their Direct Sales & also Customer Services & pointed out there was stock left in stores near me. Crazy to be charging £150 for a G3 when you can get the G4 for around that price at some online retailers. Argos also sold out of G3s all over the country. Tesco have a few, also at £150. Anyone know anywhere else I can buy a new or nearly new G3 for under £110 with 1 year warranty? (Besides used on Ebay)
RAM is more of an issue than storage. With storage just add an sd card (class 10) and Marshmallow will allow that to be treated as internal memory..ie add a cheap 16GB SD card and you have 24GB internal memory. The 1GB RAM (no idea why the UK gets 1GB and continental Europe gets 2GB) is not up upgradeable.

Edited By: Davesimon787 on Nov 21, 2016 11:15

I've been wondering the same, my wife may be semi-after one at the right price. Of course the alternative reason to the one you suggest is that it's still too premium to discount (whereas Samsung have a job to do after the exploding Notes). I'm sure we'll see something soon, glad I've had the phone for the last few weeks though.
So where are the black Friday deals for this phone ? Making me wonder if there's not enough UK demand or stock to discount it. HTC will likely reduce the phone by 100-150 any day now but will the contract prices follow ?
It is personal preference. I loved my M7, and having to go back to my Galaxy Nexus just made it even more obvious. I do feel the 10 picks up and continues from the M7. Having had a go with an S7 edge again I just didn't click with it.

That's not to say it's better than an S7 or iPhone, it's personal preference.

Speaking generally, it is a pity that the only mobile deals that seem to get any heat are cheap Chinese phones right at the bottom end of the market being sold by dodgy international sellers. It would be much more healthy for the site if the contingent always hammering deals for premium phones (of all makes) just stayed away from the deals.

Mines about to go in the bin. I was stuck between this and the s7 but opted for this I've had the s2 and s4, but my first smartphone was the original htc desire which was excellent. The phone itself is OK but i now realise it's not as good as the s7 after using one of those for a week. The back button is on the wrong side so you can't reach with your thumb which sounds like a small gripe but it's really annoying in practical terms. U can't comfortably browse with one hand. There's a workaround but you have to install custom firmware. It's also not waterproof which most other phones of this calibre are now. I accidentally submerged mine in water and as it's an all in one unit with no removable cover it's a nightmare to do anything internal with the phone. I paid 80 pounds to get it fixed but now the battery life is woeful and today the phone has refused to charge at all. Obviously my own fault getting it wet but wouldn't have been an issue with the s7 or most other flagships. This phone should drop in price soon as it's been a flop from what I've heard.
The back button is on the ' correct ' side as far as Android is concerned. Can't understand why you'd get the HTC 10 without knowing this and also knowing it's not waterproof ?
Samsung have it on the right, I hold the phone in my right hand so easier access for me. Personal taste really I suppose. I knew the phone wasn't waterproof, it was an accident, but wouldn't have been an issue with the s7 and after using one for a week it's better IMO.

carphone warehouseCarphone Warehouse Beginnings and Growth

The company was established in 1989, by Sir Charles Dunstone, who is its current Chairman, and Julian Brownlie; both of them put in £6,000 as an initial investment. A year later David Ross, the company’s third partner, joined the company. Ross became the Finance Director and later led company development in continental Europe and the U.S. under The Phone House Brand. In 2000, the company underwent an IPO, and a year later Dunstone took over control of the company from his business partners. In 2008, half of the company was bought by Best Buy Europe, though because of very miserable financial results, a demerger took place in 2013; Carphone Warehouse bought half of Best Buy Europe shares for £500 million. A year later, the company merged with Dixons Retail and formed Dixons Carphone.

Carphonewarehouse.com – A Place to Compare it All.

The company divides its sales between two channels – retail stores, owning over 2,400 of them across United Kingdom, Ireland, continental Europe and the U.S. and the online website at www.carphonewarehouse.com. Following the company slogan “We compare, you save”, you can compare prices of mobile devices from different mobile operators and the chosen tariff (monthly payments and pay as you go; the choice of standalone devices is also available). The same applies to SIM cards and some other devices such as tablets. Plus, you can look for physical stores in your area by providing your postcode in the Store Locator.

The store is very convenient to use, and has received numerous awards, including “Retailer of the Year” in the Retail Week Awards with Oracle, “Best High Street Retailer” in the Mobile Choice Consumer Awards 2015, “Best High Street Retailer” in Mobile Industry Awards 2014, “Customer Experience Technology of the Year” award in the RetailWeek Technology Awards 2014.

Carphone Warehouse – Comparing and Saving

What Phones are Available at CarphoneWarehouse?

The company sells in its online shop products in a few different categories, such as:

  • Mobile Phones – Contains standalone phones, upgrades, pay as you go and monthly payment offers. You can also get “super value smartphones” which come with little to no upfront cost and small monthly payments
  • Upgrades – You can compare different phone upgrades and compare devices that come with upgrades at different networks.
  • Broadband – Includes home and mobile broadband tariffs as well as TV and media streaming (TV Boxes and Google Chromecast).
  • Accessories – This is by far the biggest category on the website that divides itself into tablets (standalone or tariff), wearables, such as smartwatches and fitness wearables, as well as chargers, headphones screen protectors, and phone cases.

There are many different brands present in the store, with the top ones including:

Apart from the regular offers, the company has a “Mega Deals” section, which includes all the best deals available at any given time. The deals can apply to items from all categories, including pay as you go phones, pay monthly or SIM free / SIM Only options, and accessories. The company also has amazing seasonal offers – last year, a few days before Black Friday it launched an event that spanned all the way to Cyber Monday and offered great deals on chosen phones and tariffs. Another way to save some money is to make a trade-in and exchange your old phone for money.

Shopping at Carphone Warehouse

Choosing an offer and buying a selected product is super easy at Carphone Warehouse. The website is clean and the search bar is very convenient to use. This allows you to customise the offers that are presented to you. The only problem is that you can’t purchase pay monthly or SIM-only contracts if you are less than 18 years old. You don’t need to register an account prior to making a purchase on most things but the company offers a loyalty programme called Additions which makes it worth staying with them. It consists of three different parts: Insights – Expert advice and tips for your smartphone, treats – free gifts like free movies, games and eBooks, deals – compares the best available offers on devices for you and will remind you when you are due an upgrade.

carphone warehouse deal

Making an Order – It’s Really Easy

The way that you make a payment depends on the product of your choice. If you go with a monthly tariff, you have the option of direct debit to pay your bills in a convenient way. To pay for items upfront, you can use credit cards such as Visa, Visa Debit, Master Card and American Express. The company doesn’t process Maestro, Diner’s Club and Solo cards and accepts only credit cards issued in the United Kingdom. You can also top up your account upfront so that the network that you are with can use the funds when it’s time to pay your bills.

Immediately after you make an order, you will receive your first confirmation e-mail. When your order is accepted you get a second one – usually, one day after your order is shipped. The company delivers to the UK and Channel Islands only. There’s no cost associated with shipping apart from packages that are to be delivered on Saturdays (£7.50) and certain remote locations (£10). All phones, pay monthly SIM cards, free gifts and everything over £50 is delivered with DPD using next-day or nominate a day delivery options. All other items are shipped using Royal Mail. You can also use Click&Collect option to collect your item at the local Carphone Warehouse store.

Carphone Warehouse Return Policy

The process, as well as eligibility, varies from case to case. You can return and exchange almost anything you buy online or over the phone within 14 days after the product is delivered to you. This excludes top-ups, downloads and apps, headphones and Early Upgrade pay monthly phones.
