Doesn't sound great, tbh. Are you in a VM area?
2 days until mine cancels and been offered 60% (£15.20 for boxsets) but no joy getting anything more than 25% for Sky Q :(

You don't have to have the free headphones, there is the same deal for £20 per month without them.
Yeah the EE deals previously with Amazon gift vouchers are better than a £60 headphone surely. Depends if you really want them I guess
Not sure what deal that is and if it comes with any cash back, plus it's not much good for anyone wanting to go with Vodafone.
The ee deal was on some months ago.
16GB data, 6 months bt sports, 6 months iTunes music, £90 amazon voucher for £19.99 a month.
Seems a good deal if you are fortunate enough to own a time machine ;)

Lol I think you asked. Ps I did get that deal. But I need another one. I'm considering this deal, (12×20-58-50) then probably sell the headphones

There was a one day sale on the Samsung site selling the Gear 360 for £199 on March 1st.

A few months ago it was selling half price on Carphone Warehouse for £179.

Over the past couple of days Samsung confirmed they were planning on releasing a Gear 360 Pro at some point. I'm guessing that when these are released the original Gear 360s will tumble in price.

I'm really interested in getting one of these as I've been playing with WebVR and the A-Frame Framework. https://aframe.io/examples/showcase/360-image-gallery/

This does look like the best price right now but I'll be holding off until I buy one.

Can someone tell me what the cameras are like and battery life please x

Hi. Here is my situation with the battery today;

Where I work, I have very poor phone reception and no wifi but I always just leave my data, wifi and location turned on. Simply because I'm lazy to turn it off.
You can image how much battery they can take up alone....searching for a reception and briefly giving me data every now and then, maybe send the odd email or whats app message through.
During my breaks, I usually pop outside and have a quick general browse or a play on a basic game.

Anyway, I left for work about 8am with 97%. I've been home since about 5.20pm and I've used my phone a little bit since then.
It's now 7.05pm and my battery is at 59%.

I really can't say much about the camera as I've still not really used it.
Can someone tell me what the cameras are like and battery life please x

If you don't ask you don't get. I always ring sales or live chat and barter. In today's market there's no such a thing as a set price, every deal is negotiable
Ive just gone sim only with ee as was in the upgrade period. my s5 is fine and should last another year and didnt want carry on paying £30 per month. My deal is 500 mins unlimited texts and 500mb (but been given 10gb extra recurring data monthly) due to having phone and fibre with ee. Usually only 5gb but after a bit of negotiation! Anyone with ee for their home and fibre bb and due an upgrade worth taking advantage of the xtra data sim only or plan.

its a good thing you don't need to deal with Samsung direct when buying through CPW. they replace most times and quickly too. if you haven't bought into whole the Apple platform then you may not want to pay over the odds for for something no better than the next. you need to decide what you want and what works for you and especially price point. no need to sell your kidney to afford a mobile phone X)
£90 Topcashback, confirmed in like 5 mins. I believe it is a nice price. ((60+(24x37))-90)=858, if I compare the cheapest SIM free is 560, the airtime is 12.4/mo. HOT from me and bought. Cheers OP.

Voted hot but vodafone are the worst imo
As are samsung
I hated my s6 (poor battery life) but my s7 has been great, what do you recommend? I've had many brands (LG, one plus)

My S7 Edge Phone wasn't bad (aside from the hardware defects)
but if you ever need samsung customer service... good luck!

You'd have more success if you asked Kim Jong-un to sing the American National Anthem.
Cant comment on other brands, - though LG were great for my other electrical gear.

I switched back to apple because i was fed up of Samsungs lack of replies and not knowing when my phone was going to be fixed. Apple are very good for customer service

Do you have the source for that please sir?

Tech news. Just Google snapdragon 835. You can see all the new phones with snapdragon 835 coming out soon.

think they priced themselves out on this one Google
plewis00

Considering the iPhone 7 deal also on here is £800 for a pitiful 2gb of data this is relatively a steal. Apple users are the real mugs.
Are they? Because their phone retains more value and depreciates less and data usage is relative - I barely hit 2GB/month because I'm on the office WiFi or public WiFi (via secure VPN) and the only real data I use is for email. I get that some people want to watch TV and video stream on the go and fair enough but not for me.

Depreciation is arguable. The pixel is a better phone than any iPhone. Most people that are power users and pay this much for a phone want more data than 2GB, modern smartphones like this are crippled without generous allowances.

So yes.

To be honest though just because you're daughter wants one it dosent make it a good deal.Sorry to disappoint you but the new one is out Feb 3rd for £279 better specs so this is going to drop massively. At -20 alot of people agree.Dont take it to heart its just a phoneoO

It's not Full HD its HD 720. Doesn't have fast charging either. But it's a decent enough phone. Probably better ones out there for the same price. I've just got one today for a work phone to replace a Galaxy S4. Besides the better battery life (which is negated in the S4 because the battery is replaceable) it's still not as good as the S4.
pathetic
my 10yr old daughter will be over the moon, the only others in PINK are in germany

Seems harsh, ashdogra69 was only giving his/her opinion. My opinion is that £220 seems expensive for a quad core with 1.5mb ram with all the other alternatives available.

I hope your daughter likes it though :)

Well I'm an iOS user but still felt upon initial look this is a good deal for a solid phone especially as a present.

As mentioned, hope she enjoys it.

Not really a deal to be honest considering the new a3 is out in a week or 2 for 299 and it's absolutely stunning and so is the a5.

I made my wife leave EE to O2. The perks are quite generous and she has amazing reception after all these years. Loyalty is a word EE forgot that I agree.

But I am anti TCB. I take every opportunity to share my experience s about them. They don't say anything to their vendors who have poor reviews on their website. Quidco has been top notch when it comes to everything for me.

I went to the local CPW and they had none in stock. They tried to sell me Sandisk instead. I had to convince them that they sold this in other stores and that they could order it for me. They asked me three times why I didn't just order it online and three times I had to explain that the three-for-one offer didn't apply. They couldn't find the cards on their system and I had to Google them and show them myself.
Eventually I got them to order three 32 GBs and three 64 GBs.
In short, be prepared to have to harangue a reluctant staff to get you this deal.
Unfortunately it is quite hit and miss. Its a mixture of some people not knowing what they're doing and not wanting to.
Fortunately at my local store, whilst one of the people didn't know what they were doing (possibly new), the manager was on hand to do it.
Glad to hear you got them in the end :)

Yeah similar experience to me at the Hayes CPW store. The guy says he can't order any because he doesn't have the item in stock to scan?! He played dumb and I eventually gave up.

Mercury looks good but will probably be nearer £500 than £299. I bought the Priv duting Black Friday week at this price and I'm very pleased with it. Yes It does get hot at times, and I'm using the keyboard less than I expected (coming from a bold 990!) but glad to have it there at times, although the onscreen Smart Keyboard learns fast, as a productivity device the Priv works well for me.
As a Priv owner, I want the Mercury. I don't need the performance of the snapdragon 808 since it's generally underperforming due to heat, plus the keyboard's a bit more sensible.
Mercury will probably be over priced but looks like the handset to get. Priv is a bit gimmick with the slider
dbobra
yes, the new Mercury seems pretty good, but could be some time before available.

Should be out this quarter...
It's been this price for about a month. Decent value but I would wait for he next price drop when Mercury is released. For me, the lack of a fingerprint reader puts it in the sub £250 bracket - but don't get me wrong I like the handset and certainly is different should people want to avoid the usual iPhones/Galaxy's

I think one big thing missed out in this thread is that the handset only version of the Alcatel shine has adaptable storage activated which non of the above phones mentioned have... This means that you can use your SD card as internal storage for apps and stuff. Or external storage like most other phones.

Thought I would mention this because it's a big feature of Android that most company's deactivate on their phones and this may be the decider for some when considering buying this phone.

Better phones at this price point imo.
would be helpful to know what they are. I'm looking for a phone about £100-£140 price mark...
Get a Xiaomi Redmi Note Pro 3 SE version, its better than both The P9 Lite and Alcatel Shine Lite Link.
Thanks - saw that but not really after 5.5. I ordered the 3s prime yesterday from the same Aliexpress seller but might need another one in the next month or so - so keeping an eye out for a second phone offer. If I'm pleased with the Redmi might get another.

What's the P9 lite camera like? I love the camera on my LG G2. Does it have OIS like the G2?

I would offload the G2 to your local museum and pick up something a bit more modern, it doesn't have ois but it will be a breath of fresh air compared to that old dinosaur!

Thanks, bought one and very pleased with it so far, as contract was up. £600 for a Samsung S7 Edge was too extravagant for a phone. At half the price this is a much better deal. Now also available on Amazon Prime at the same price: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Xperia-UK-SIM-Free-Smartphone/dp/B01ECV0Y58
Bought an X for £315 from Amazon before Christmas and it's worth the money. Had a Z3 previously. Battery is around the same as a 2 year old Z3 and does seem laggy but i like the slightly smaller size, 32 gig mem & the fingerprint reader. Probably the best sensible sized phone around the £300 mark. Heat from me :)

this is a poor effort of a flagship smartphone.
This isn't the flagship, this is midrange.
it was their highest spec phone on release.

No it wasn't, it was released along with the x performance

Can you use corporate discount 25% off with this?
hey maybe you can share the code ;-)

Can't share as you need to go in store with ID
I just called CPW, if you quote the quidco they will waive the £75 off the upfront.

I would do it but im worried about the data usage

I am a newbie to the site and wondering why is it cold? Simply cuz its Apple?

Partly - iphone deals tend to get icy cold on here. This one will be super chilly as there are better deals around - mobiles.co.uk have the handset for £75 and the same deal but 5GB not 6 for £34 a month (6 months at £17). Works out at over £100 cheaper. Even so it's not the best deal I've seen before Christmas and hopefully something better will appear soon. Mobiles.co.uk are a part of CPW but CPW won't match their deals.

Works out about £41.50 per month over two years (excluding any cashback). Not bad but there have been some better deals posted (and gone cold as is customary with iphone deals on HUKD...).

carphone warehouseCarphone Warehouse Beginnings and Growth

The company was established in 1989, by Sir Charles Dunstone, who is its current Chairman, and Julian Brownlie; both of them put in £6,000 as an initial investment. A year later David Ross, the company’s third partner, joined the company. Ross became the Finance Director and later led company development in continental Europe and the U.S. under The Phone House Brand. In 2000, the company underwent an IPO, and a year later Dunstone took over control of the company from his business partners. In 2008, half of the company was bought by Best Buy Europe, though because of very miserable financial results, a demerger took place in 2013; Carphone Warehouse bought half of Best Buy Europe shares for £500 million. A year later, the company merged with Dixons Retail and formed Dixons Carphone.

Carphonewarehouse.com – A Place to Compare it All.

The company divides its sales between two channels – retail stores, owning over 2,400 of them across United Kingdom, Ireland, continental Europe and the U.S. and the online website at www.carphonewarehouse.com. Following the company slogan “We compare, you save”, you can compare prices of mobile devices from different mobile operators and the chosen tariff (monthly payments and pay as you go; the choice of standalone devices is also available). The same applies to SIM cards and some other devices such as tablets. Plus, you can look for physical stores in your area by providing your postcode in the Store Locator.

The store is very convenient to use, and has received numerous awards, including “Retailer of the Year” in the Retail Week Awards with Oracle, “Best High Street Retailer” in the Mobile Choice Consumer Awards 2015, “Best High Street Retailer” in Mobile Industry Awards 2014, “Customer Experience Technology of the Year” award in the RetailWeek Technology Awards 2014.

Carphone Warehouse – Comparing and Saving

What Phones are Available at CarphoneWarehouse?

The company sells in its online shop products in a few different categories, such as:

  • Mobile Phones – Contains standalone phones, upgrades, pay as you go and monthly payment offers. You can also get “super value smartphones” which come with little to no upfront cost and small monthly payments
  • Upgrades – You can compare different phone upgrades and compare devices that come with upgrades at different networks.
  • Broadband – Includes home and mobile broadband tariffs as well as TV and media streaming (TV Boxes and Google Chromecast).
  • Accessories – This is by far the biggest category on the website that divides itself into tablets (standalone or tariff), wearables, such as smartwatches and fitness wearables, as well as chargers, headphones screen protectors, and phone cases.

There are many different brands present in the store, with the top ones including:

Apart from the regular offers, the company has a “Mega Deals” section, which includes all the best deals available at any given time. The deals can apply to items from all categories, including pay as you go phones, pay monthly or SIM free / SIM Only options, and accessories. The company also has amazing seasonal offers – last year, a few days before Black Friday it launched an event that spanned all the way to Cyber Monday and offered great deals on chosen phones and tariffs. Another way to save some money is to make a trade-in and exchange your old phone for money.

Shopping at Carphone Warehouse

Choosing an offer and buying a selected product is super easy at Carphone Warehouse. The website is clean and the search bar is very convenient to use. This allows you to customise the offers that are presented to you. The only problem is that you can’t purchase pay monthly or SIM-only contracts if you are less than 18 years old. You don’t need to register an account prior to making a purchase on most things but the company offers a loyalty programme called Additions which makes it worth staying with them. It consists of three different parts: Insights – Expert advice and tips for your smartphone, treats – free gifts like free movies, games and eBooks, deals – compares the best available offers on devices for you and will remind you when you are due an upgrade.

Making an Order – It’s Really Easy

The way that you make a payment depends on the product of your choice. If you go with a monthly tariff, you have the option of direct debit to pay your bills in a convenient way. To pay for items upfront, you can use credit cards such as Visa, Visa Debit, Master Card and American Express. The company doesn’t process Maestro, Diner’s Club and Solo cards and accepts only credit cards issued in the United Kingdom. You can also top up your account upfront so that the network that you are with can use the funds when it’s time to pay your bills.

Immediately after you make an order, you will receive your first confirmation e-mail. When your order is accepted you get a second one – usually, one day after your order is shipped. The company delivers to the UK and Channel Islands only. There’s no cost associated with shipping apart from packages that are to be delivered on Saturdays (£7.50) and certain remote locations (£10). All phones, pay monthly SIM cards, free gifts and everything over £50 is delivered with DPD using next-day or nominate a day delivery options. All other items are shipped using Royal Mail. You can also use Click&Collect option to collect your item at the local Carphone Warehouse store.

Carphone Warehouse Return Policy

The process, as well as eligibility, varies from case to case. You can return and exchange almost anything you buy online or over the phone within 14 days after the product is delivered to you. This excludes top-ups, downloads and apps, headphones and Early Upgrade pay monthly phones. Similarly, you can return and exchange your Pay monthly phone, including changing a network, swapping your phone and cancelling your contract. More detailed information is available on the websites of respective networks.

To return or exchange your products, simply follow the guidelines below. Note that any returns by post exclude laptops, which must be taken to your local store:
