Honestly mate thats not true, ive heard them and they sound great, not as good as my k550 but saying they sound worse than a random pair of £15 is untrue.

How do you stop it mashing your chips up ? Mine just keep going under the metal arm that the paddle is attatched to, the whole paddle attatchment jumps out of it seating when the paddle gets stuck and the chips pass underneath.

Picked one up on Sunday, how the hell do you stop it turning your chips into mashed potatoes ???? 70% of people say it makes great chips the other 30% say great mash. What are the 30% myself included doing wrong ? Is it down to the type of potatoes we are using ?........:0(

You get what you pay for, pay under a hundred quid and it'll be fine i'm sure, but perhaps heavy, inefficient and crap build quality amongst other things. Find me a Comparable item for a lesser price, please, but you can't, the investment is soon recuperated in time, energy, effort, ongoing costs etc. People realise this and that's why even the DC41A at £400 sells thousands of units every week in and out in the U.K.
Dysons have a few things that justify their 50% (+) share of the market.
Firstly, Guarantee... the fact that the company are so confident in their product they can cover all parts and labour for 5 times longer than other reputable brands such as Hoover, speaks volumes. Their aftersales service is also excellent.
Secondly they Capture more dirt than ANY other cyclone technology...(Having had a henry, this is pertinant- going back to using one is like using a straw!) Dyson has been continually refining vacuum cyclone technology since inventing it more than 20 years ago (The technology other brands such as Vax areusing is literally copies of Dysons expired Patents of such technology!) Dyson cyclones spin at over 40G force per cyclone...means it captures more dirt and microscopic dust than ANY other. No bag to clog so No loss of suction! FurthermoreDyson’s patented Root Cyclone™ technology
Traps allergens and expels cleaner air-Approved by both the British Allergy Foundation and Service Allergie Suisse.
Thirdly No extra costs, Other machines are still designed to need replacement bags and filters. Over 5 years these items can cost up to £175. Dyson vacuums are bagless and have washable lifetime filters – so there are no extra costs.
Then build quality wise, the machines are incdibly durable. All Dyson vacuums are made from ABS and polycarbonate – the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets- I can Jump up and down on the bin and it not break!!! Every single component is relentlessly tested to last!!!
Lastly, this model ...It has the Dyson Ball- meaning cumbersum bitty awkwardness clutter has been reduced. Motor, power cable and air ducts are all housed in the ball itself. It makes the machine easier to steer along edges and lowers the centre of gravity - giving greater stability. It flows really well and is much smoother than traditional vacuums. AND recommended by The UK College of Chiropractors who commends Ball technology for its potential to prevent musculoskeletal discomfort during vacuuming.
Also The cleaner head self-adjusts to maintain optimal contact with all floor types. It lowers on hard floors to remove more dust and pet hair from crevices and corners. On carpets, the base plate raises or lowers automatically, allowing the brush bar to remove pet hair and particles caught in the carpet fibre. It's designed for outstanding performance across all floors - not just carpets, but the whole of your house.

Hope that's some help.

Are you a Dyson Salesman and any facts/evidences to back up claims like 50% market share and catches more dirt than anyother Vaccum cleaner?

I dont think 50% of UK households will be doshing out on expensive vaccums cleaners like these. I have a smaller Miele one and does a very good job for half the money.

No I'm not & Yes, for claims See Dyson website to corroborate. Furthermore every vacuum is labelled with the "Captures more dirt" sticker, so it's not a whim.

& Miele vacuums are Bagged- Porous material which clogs and compromises suction and diminishes performance. Furthermore increases ongoing costs with needing to buy replacements. They also retail around £200 so hardly a different league.

hi guys. am thinking of getting one of these, although had some bad experience with an lg tv that I got recently (42LS3450 - blown speaker). anyway, would like to know the refresh that this tv can handle (hooked up to a pc?). is it 50Hz(1080p) ? obliged.
ss3000
Got this a couple of days ago. Brilliant TV, the web browser supports flash and the loading up times are decent. Loving the ability to change channel and volume using my mobile. Was considering the samsung 40 inch from RGB but this has built in wifi (samsung dongle costs abut £20-£30) and offers more screen estate.

The picture quality is great.
davew2011
Thank you
Lawsie
It's fully built in. No need for any USB dongles. Plug the telly into the mains and aerial and as part of the initial set up it'll scan for wireless networks. Worked perfectly for me. I'm also using the LG smart TV app on my iPhone to control the telly's smart / web function. Recommended addition if you don't want to spend extra on the admittedly good Magic Remote.

Totally agree with Biggunspaul comments. When they first came out the Samsung 3D active glasses were very expensive depending on where you bought them. The best and dearest pair now are between £30 & £40 and they are excellent and even the two pairs for less than £30 are very good. In my not so humble opinion the active 3D glasses are so much better than the passive ones I'm surprised they are still making them. I have the 55" ES8000 and the 3D picture is unbelievable with the passive glasses.

I have the 55" es7000 (same tv but just black surround) and agree with how stunning the 3d is on this tv.i looked at loads of 3d tv's and passive ones never looked as good to me,the 3d was a bit weak IMO.One thing to note is how comfy and light the cheap samsung 3d glasses are and the battery in them seems to last forever.

Don't know what I done but somehow I managed to delete my very first post, what a good start lol

I was always a BIG Samsung fan for TV`s but with 3D and their active glasses have steered well clear as the glasses are so expensive and you have to be so careful as a lot of active glasses only work with one or two TV`s......................so PLEASE double check this before making any purchase.

I looked at one a year or so ago that was reduced....didn`t come with even a single pair of glasses.....then before I purchased checked for the glasses and couldn`t find a single supplier as was an older TV being superceded.

I have defected to LG for their passive 3D......is as good and affordable glasses...as passive cinema ones

For my 2p worth :-)

Please check your facts before posting. 2012 sets from Samsung and a few others all have active glasses that work via Bluetooth and are cross compatible (I think it might be Panasonic and Sony that are the other two). The Samsung glasses are the cheapest of all three manufactures though at around half the standard price, you can also pick these up in double packs for between £20-£30 when on offer (which is quite frequently). Granted, that is not as cheap as passive glasses, but if yo want an active set and cost of glasses is an issue for you, then Samsung is your cheapest option.

Hi, just got this tv all set up and was very happy untill i came across a HUGE flaw! The TV has no audio output at all, no optical, no ARC and not even a headphone socket so there is no way this will work with my surround sound when using the built in tuner. Very poor :(
And three years later... not true: audio out is via the scart connector - likely scart to phono/RCA, possibly via a switched scart adapter. Standard practice, and has been for some time in excess of 3 years ;)

Everything on currys or pc world with prices ending in 97p are out of stock. They put them on there websites so they look good. They are items they have sold and expect a certain amount returned. Big con.
Actually prices ending in 97pence always indicated that it was a discontinued item that they were selling off and not restocking rather than indicating an out of stock item
Actually 98p is discontinued and they are running stock down from all sources and may still come from teh warehouse.97p is clearance prices and the remaining stock is typically in stores and priced to go. As the stock dwindles the last remaining items in stores are deemed to be ex-display or damaged and will be priced accordingly. At the end of the day getting a real bargain should involve getting off your rs and finding it. ?I wish everyone would stop expecting them on a plate with cranberry sauce and stuffing.
Yes you`re correct, silly us for expecting a bargain in a sale.
The issue should be the companies getting off their asses and getting us to shop not the other way around.

Ho! ho! ho! Merry Christmas. Now that Currys, Dixons and PC World have gotten rid of Comet, they can rule the high street once again and make cosy cartel profits horay for DSG.

Dixons is no more, they had already closed down all the shops and it was only online.

Now they have got rid of Dixons online.

Online you are now directed to Currys or PC World.

im looking for a gaming laptop as girlfriend wants the front room desktop gone. This looks good to me. Dont really want to spend over 500 quid. Any alternatives ?

Also!!! can anyone confirm the colour? Is it more pink than red? ive an image to uphold.

Dell had some good deals recently with i5 core for £444 and i7core for about £533 both had dedicate 2GB graphics + full 1080p screen. Not available at moment but I would wait till sales start you should be able to pickup something better than this for less than £500

Cold - same as an i7 ONLY if you think an i7 is 3 times slower than what they are....

this processor should be compared more with a base i3 ... even then most i3's would score higher in the performance charts.

but the OP does only say its the same amount of cores as an i7 - not that its the same as an i7
