Price isn't terrible compared to other deals, I guess. However, I simply cannot see the point in these things. I've been playing games since I was 7 and developing them since I was 21. Not once have I ever thought to myself; "You know what I need? I dedicated chair for this that sits at ground level."

Howcome u can't play it? Is it hard with the motion controls? - I don't like the amount of puzzles in zelda games but I did enjoy some parts of the game. This one the motion controls and no option of normal controls puts me off big style, especially as zelda takes hours and hours to complete

Got another update today. Dunno why, as I cancelled both my orders.

Dear Customer

Thank you for your recent order for the Apple iPad Mini (16GB, WiFi, White).

At the time of pre-order, a guarantee was given that delivery would be made this week. This guarantee was based on information given to us by Apple. It has come to light that Apple are unable to fulfil this promise and it is with huge regret that we have to inform you that delivery of this item will not be made this week. We offer our sincerest apologies for this situation, which is outside of our control.

The most up to date information we have is that Apple have confirmed that stock is in the UK and that we are the only UK retailer due to receive stock to fulfil our pre-orders. We are unable to confirm exactly when we will be able to deliver your item at this point but we are working closely with Apple to minimise any further disappointment. We appreciate that you may have bought this as a gift for someone else. Please be assured that we are doing all we can to get your order to you before Christmas

At this point, the options available to you are: -

- To await further communication from us with regards the delivery of your Apple iPad Mini (we will email a further update within the next 48 hours).
- To cancel your order and receive a full refund. If you wish to cancel this order, please reply to this email with the subject 'iPad Mini Cancellation'. Please provide your order number and post code to enable us to process the cancellation.

Once again, please accept our apologies for this delay and disappointment this may cause.

Yes spraint this is exactly what happened to me. And when you call them none of them have a clue what they're talking about. They really gave me the runaround today because one of their representatives told me the stores would be getting them in today and to keep refreshing their website to order one. Did this all morning only to ring them again to be told there actually won't be any more until next week at least... WTF?! Infuriating but since I really want one asap I have no choice for now but to keep my order going and hope. Got one on order from apple as well which is due to arrive some time next week and keep ringing my nearby apple store to check stock (so far no luck) I just really hope apple can get me one before currys/pc world because at least they haven't told me bullish!t and taken my money for a none-existent product... *sigh* :-/"

I have a spare black one i'll be selling later today as i ordered from two places and the white one arrived

Does anybody have any idea why all of a sudden there are white 16gb ipad minis available for reserve and collect through PCWorld/Currys. I have one on order for home delivery but after taking my money and promising they would get it to me this week they now say they are unable to tell me when I will get in since apparently there is a 'large backlog of orders' It is a big surprise, therefore, to see them available for reserve and collect suddenly. Unfortunately they still seem to be out of stock in my local area, but still, it's annoying! Incase people didn't get the hint this is doing my head in :-D I just really want one for a flight I'm going on in a couple of weeks and nowhere seems to be able provide me with straight answers :-S

PC World and Currys did this at the end of November. I ordered with PC World with guaranteed delivery on 30th November - order went through and my order history said order shipped when in stock. Tried with Currys with guaranteed delivery on 3rd December. Order went through and got an email saying sorry, not able to ship as promised. I cancelled both orders and walked into an Apple store and just picked one up. Had to pay full fare, but at least I didn't get the run around.

Your obviously quite thick. You asked how I got the above price. You didn't include the value of the points. I point out that you haven't added the value of the points in your deductions and you still didn't get it. Whether you can use them or not is irrelevant. It's only when you use the points that you get around the price I quoted which is what you asked to begin with.

Let us hope that you are slightly brighter and more polite in real life than you are on hukd.

PS - Your spelling is awesome. Equivalent to a seven year old. Congratulations. Come back to the internet when you are able to write. Also, it's 'math' not 'mathe'.
I said about cash price, not cash + club card points. As i said i will reiteraate, i live with my fokes and club card points mean nothink to me. Its simply a deal for cash, and people who dont use club card.
As for my spelling, yea i should have check it. Thou i couldnt be bothered to correct it at the time, with someone who was as highly strun as your self. Thought it best let it wind you up some more. Mind, i cant help if my hand eye co-ordination is a bit crap. You blame that on what ever you feel fit to say. Still the brain tumour I had, did me no favours. Thou cant be that bad, even if i have messed up eye sight, I can still think clearly which is more benefical to myself.

It is £318 on tesco direct.

Samsung Offer £50 Cashback

Use code TDX-KJPW to get £10 off a £50 spend if you are a first time shopper).

Use this code TD-PT4M and you get 3000 bonus clubcard points. Bringing the total points to 3318.

There is also 4.54% topcashback.

So in total you can get it for about £215. Thats not even including the trade in value of the 3318 clubcard points on the clubcard exchange. That would make it even cheaper.
Can you explain the mathe, becuase that doesnt add up.

HELP!. On claiming the cash back, what is the price paid for the tablet, is it £318 or do you put the price paid with discounts in my case staff discount and 1st order £10 off? Any idea.

It doesn't much matter what you put on the claim form, but put what you actually paid out.

There are so many of these posts I'm getting confused, none of the posts seem to mention 3g connectivity, can someone explain why not, I am waiting for the right one with 3g as surely it would mean internet connection anywhere, am I correct in my thinking or not?
You're entirely right in your thinking. For some reason everyone seems to be overlooking 3G - but it's an essential for travelling anywhere without free wi-fi.I picked up a 16GB Wi-Fi + 3G, 7.0 a few days ago for £220, and so far as I was concerned that was a far better buy than any of the non-3G versions around. John Lewis have it for £280, and it's still a good buy at that price.Free 500GB pm data with Ovivo, too, wherever you go in the UK.

Most people overlook the fact that they already have a phone with 3G and hotspot capability with the handset. No need to pay extra for a tablet with 3G and a dataplan too. Just link the wireless tablet to your phones hotspot and save money? That's what I do :)

Who's paying extra for 3G for the tablet? 500mb pm entirely free with Ovivo. :p

"you have to have one of a relatively small number of designated Cloud printers" says FredsVan.
"it's easy unless you have an old printer." says KingCampo.

Can someone tell me which of these is true?

Both statement are true. However,an "old printer" does not have to be very old.

To print the Chromebook has to be on the internet, you cannot print directly to any printer (as far as I am aware) even Cloud Print ready printers. This is because you cannot load any printer drivers directly on to the Chromebook.

The Google Chrome site says these are the Cloud Print ready printers

Cloud Printers

So no Dell, Samsung, Brother or Lexmark printers and no older printers. However, if you buy a Cloud Print ready printer, I guess it is easy to print, but I don't have any direct experience of this type of printer.

For most of us who already have a printer the only other option is to print via a seperate computer that is linked to the internet and a printer. Google call ordinary printers "Classic Printers". Here is how you use a Classic Printer

Classic Printer

As you will see you have the second computer on, atttached to the interent and have the Chrome browser running (it can run in the background) and finally added the printer to the Cloud Print option.

Using Vista I find that Chrome keeps crashing, if you Google Chrome, closing or chrashing you will see lots of info on the topic. However, when you are using the Chromebook, you don't know that Chrome on the second computer has stopped working until you go to the printer.

So my personal experince, is printing is unreliable but others may well have a better experience and can print reliably

The Acer doesn't have a trendy brand name like Samsung though and also the battery doesn't last as long too

But the Acer has advantages because it uses an x86 processor, which means you can install Ubuntu and run it as an awesome semi-netbook

You can install Ubuntu on acer chromebook, not on Samsung I believe.

Is this any good for students? Coursework and music?
We have a student in the family who uses a Chromebook. It is designed for using Google Docs so it is great for coursework. The biggest problem we find is it is not possible to load any printer drivers on the machine. So you cannot just plug in a USB or even a WiFi printer and print. You have to print using Googles Cloud printing which means you have to have one of a relatively small number of designated Cloud printers or print via another PC running the Chrome browser. Also remember that off line it is very limited
was thinking of getting one for my 17 year olds to use for college but not so sure now :(

I'm sure this has already been said somewhere on here before but don't you get a 2 year warranty on Samsung tablets any way?

In the UK you get 6 years warranty on all purchases via the Sales Of Goods Act. Staff dealing with warranty returns are selected specifically for their lack of knowledge, thus providing a believable lie that only 1 year warranty is available. Stand your ground. Ask for management. Don't be bullied by the intentionally uninformed.

Just wondering how people are getting on with the cashback?

I made my claim on 27th December (31 days) later which was acknowledged by Currys and Samsung.

I have since received an email from Samsung saying my claim is authorised and payment is expected in next 30 days.

I have heard nothing from Currys.

Went to Curry's today to buy Samsung Tab 2 7' and case - they told me Samsung cashback was too late, and it ended a couple of days ago. Checked the Samsung website, it says it ends 31 dec. Are Curry's just useless, or have any of you experienced the same?

Read the whole thread, the Currys cashback (£20) was if you purchased a case and ended last week, the Samsung cashback (£30) is the one that ends on 31/12 and is still available

So i just got my galaxy tab in the post yesterday. Am i too late to claim either of the cash-back deals via Currys and Samsung, as i cant see either of them on the respective websites?

Really appreciate a response, as I'm potentially £50 down on this deal.

Might be ok if you claim from pc world but if you are just claiming from samsung it looks a bit fake.

I think most photographers would take the 5100, and most beginners would take the 3200 on the headline figures that interest them - for example megapixel count and it being the latest entry level camera.

The 5100 has in built HDR, Flip out screen, lower noise, longer battery life, better boost ISO at 25,600

a photographer would not take a flip out screen ;p a videographer might. Performance in low light is fairly important, but the only real way to improve significantly upon the 3200 is go full frame. If you are struggling with the 3200, the 5100 will not suddenly make things better. I would agree the battery in the 3200 isnt the greatest, you definitely need a spare to take with you if going out to shoot for a day. However that tends to be true whatever camera you have.

As for exStudent, the 3200 has the better sensor according to dxomark

http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/Cameras/Camera-Sensor-Ratings/List-view

In fact, the 3200 is the 3rd highest APS-C sensor ever reviewed there, only the pentax K5 beating it.

The flip out screen is actually excellent for photography, especially car mag shot from the ground up. I used to use a remote screen and shutter trigger, but this works better as it's high res live view and I can set the exposure and DOF in realtime. I use a combination of 1Dmk3 and 650d, and find myself using the 650 screen in live view quite often to take live view setups and low tripod shots. Although in the studio you can always hook it up to a PC or laptop direct.

Agreed - I also find myself taking the GH2 for some photos over a D700 because it's much easier when shooting in awkward locations such as having the camera flat on the floor.

I believe the 5100 has 1/3rd ISO increments... e.g 100 - 125 etc whereas the 3200 goes from 100 to 200 ISO etc. The extra MPixels shouldn't make much difference when producing standard frame photographs, in fact all it will do is eat up memory faster.

Have you ever read about the low noise ISO settings for video, i.e. multiples of 160 ?

http://www.petapixel.com/2011/05/02/use-iso-numbers-that-are-multiples-of-160-when-shooting-dslr-video/
That's news to me. There didn't seem to be much difference in noise until the ISO became high. I wonder how images fair?

None of my current cameras firmware can be hacked yet to try it LOL

I wish it would be like you say. Unfortunately it's not gameplay time...It'll expire 60 days after use whether you log on to the servers or not...
