The **** don't make anything in size 13!
cicobuff
Not sure about the quality shoes that last for years claim. The leather is not what it used to be with the Chinese manufactured ones for sure.
If anyone wants quality Dr Martens boots they would need to buy either the Vintage Dr Martens ones still made here in England or sacrifice the tag altogether and buy Solovair branded ones from the NPS Shoes factory that once did Dr Martens.
You can still buy DM's from the village outlet shop (although some of those prices are still high but must be cheaper than the shops!). My 1st pair of Solovair rejects cost me £5 and lasted me many years - in those days it was who you knew in the factories to get you the best prices!! The owners of the original DM factories in the village would turn in their graves if they saw some of the items being produced these days!!
funkymartyn
Shame not many in my size 8 . that I like....my fault for having loads already at this price and less from the outlet.
Outlet? Online?! :D
I have to admit Doc Martins aren't what they used to be.
VinegarTits
Even at 50% off Dr martens are a rip. They're like pure plastic now
Glad I was lucky enough to get a made in England pair.

Mine are like a thin layer of leather on card, absolute crap.

I bought vegan DMs a while ago! They are great.
HOT! Not often can find larger sizes on sale. These run a bit narrow, but leather is a lot softer than some others. Free delivery and returns is great too. Cheers OP.
I see they do boots for life for £165, but i suspect its like insurance...they'd find a lot of reasons not to repair/replace them.

They have a factory shop in Wollaston, Northamptonshire. Their UK home
Thank you for that. Lived in Welly for 10 years and didn't know they were just down the road.
Off to take a look today:)
Any good news today then....we always pop over to the outlet store....and always come away with at least two pairs each....inc, some made in England.....at great prices.......don't tell everyone through......lol
*cobra*
DM's were very much the ticket in late 70s/early 80s during Punk then Ska era. There's very few would wear them now apart from those ageing punk head's still stuck in a time warp
Damn it , tell that to our scooter club....lost count at 40 at least....docs will always be in trend...which isn't always a good thing...they make styles now to suit loads of taste, people, etc.....
If you want the quality they used to be go for Solovair; they're using exactly the same manufacturing process and their shoes are identical, except these ones are still made in England.

Ordered thanks! Wish I'd read down for the 10% though, that'll teach me! Good find op
I have the white ones of these - very comfy & always get lots of compliments when I wear them. Granted, not to everyone's tastes but these are as much of a heel as I want to wear, and as a Docs addict they were perfect for me!

Got these in their last sale for this price and they are fantastic. Can wear them all day and night and super comfortable. And the price is great!

Just an idea but try taking them off at night, you'll be much more comfy in bed. oO

But night rates are usually much higher... ;)

Very pleased, thank you for the discount heads up.

I've emailed customer services to see if they'll honour the code. We'll see.

Went to that leeds dr martens shop stood for 3 and a half hours to get told they have sold out of. 3 pound shoes offerd us 25% of instore what a pile of ****
70 pairs in Norwich, according to local press, so a good decision not to join a queue that was at least twice that number (_;)
Schuh had about 280 pairs. Got there at 6:30 and there were 40 or 50 people ahead of me. 6 at a time into the store. Out (with purchase!) by 09:30 :)
waste of time. 600-1000 people queued only about 25-50 got anything. carnaby shop. they ran out of shoes by 9:20.

Edited By: plath on Sep 04, 2014 10:35
Norwich queue was insanely long at about 08:40, and I think only about ten customers will probably get a pair for £3. Will be interesting to hear from people who waited to find out.

I just wonder how worn out they have to be before they deem it necessary to replace? I can imagine sending back a pair, paying the fee and finding that they deem them perfectly usable.
Can't understand why there are so many misspelled posts on HUKD - I get a red line underneath anything spelt incorrectly :-)

Rediculous price. Whether it's the cheapest or not I'd want more than a pair of Docs for £165
it's spelled ridiculous

It's spelt spelt.
20 quid a year after the initial investment for quality boots is fantastic. I can't see most people needing to do it more often than that. I was very tempted to get them a couple of years back when they were about 120 quid. wish I'd gone for it. Hot from me.
The admin fee makes this cold for me

I am still looking for one of these "Boot Drives" as a special gift for a friend who is Doc obsessed. If anyone has one that they are looking to sell I am certainly looking to buy! I know it is late though. Thank you if any of you can help!

I got the brown boot which is 500MB, evidently there is a black version which is 1GB.
Comes in a nice little padded box with DM logo.
Do you still have it and might you be looking to sell it? I am looking to buy one obviously, as a speciasl gift for a friend who is Doc obsessed.

Couple of things chaps
1) You cannot sell something here that you got for free
2) Also, the only place where you can sell is in the FS Forum
Can you both take a look at the guidelines please? Thanks

As most things these days come from China is it really a concern?

No, that's a fact of life these days, It's just when companies play the 'Blighty' card and then get the product made where it is cheaper it's a bit sad. I don't know why DM couldn't have expanded here and kept the price reasonable?
Going all misty eyed I remember wearing 'Made in Britain' DM's at school when I was a kid in the '70's - everyone did at my school in the East End of London - Then, our parents couldn't have afforded the equivalent of todays several hundred pounds for a pair, so they must have been a reasonable price then, why can't that be the case today???
Why can't these 'British' companies like DM, Dyson, Fred 'The home of authentic British Street Fashion' Perry (yet selling Polo's made in China for £50!!!!!) have the decency to employ a British workforce to make their 'British' product?
I know everyone does it worldwide, but it still leave a bad taste...

I wrote 'The most iconic British footwear' this wasn't some company blurb, because to me they are the most iconic.

Sales went down. They moved production abroad to stop them going bankrupt(well documented at the time(2003/4). The rest is history.

Don't know why this has expired, I went there this morning & they had loads in stock. Got 2 pairs of boots for £60.
Shoes are £25, boots £30, & high boots for £35.
All were 'last season' not faulty or anything like that.
That's that then , don't expect to find any more great deals there now , the secrets out.....I know I shouldn't say this..but its a great place to pick up docs....even going a 70 mile round trip....Get there now, and all my sizes will be gone........Damn......lol

Don't think you're getting the original British made boots. These are the Chinese made Docs. get what you pay for.
Some of these are second hand.

The 5 pairs myself and friends have bought this morning were all brand new but there were varying levels of used ones on this offer
Was in the Liverpool one but called up Manchester store earlier in the week who are also doing the offer. As far as I know, the offer is on at all of their standalone stores.

the website was added by someone else, the link I posted at the end is just the address of the factory shop, you cannot buy cheap DM's online but if you anywhere near a trip to the shop is well worth it!

Did not check the link or website as I knew you could not get DM's at those prices in an original shop or online and I knew you must have visited the outlet shop in my village :) Bring back the days when you could buy DM's direct from the factory doors for less than £10 a pair - happy memories!!!
