Saudi Arabia and other tyrant criminal states like Bahrain and Qatar exist because of European colonialism. Their demented Wahabi/Salafi ideology have the full military support from the U.K. USA and their allies to create a region in perpetual war financing the arms trade and exploitation of natural resources. If your going to ignore all that and blame "archaic culture" and religion out of personal bias then your part of the problem and the effects it has on you domestically. Our hypocritical "leaders" don't live like us and don't care about anything other than elitism.
Our hypocritical "leaders" don't live like us and don't care about anything other than elitism.
But Saudi leaders care about the poorest in their society or those who are homosexual or women who want to drive?!?
Saudi are the most moderate Muslim country in the Middle East which is why they are an ally but their moderation is relatively poor in global terms.
what is it with you people and homosexuals? don't you have anything else to say? the Muslim countries see it as a crime. that is there society and if they want to protect society from such things then why do you have a problem with it? if you are gay then just don't hold your boyfriends hand in public when visiting.
women wanting to drive doesn't affect you. that is their culture. if everybody follows the same culture then there would not be anything interesting in the world.
live and let live. the Arabs probably see 100s of things wrong in western culture but you don't see them moaning about it non stop.
You would think the sentiment that everyone is equal and are entitled to the same rights couldn't be argued against, but here you are proving me wrong.
If the people are not happy about their government laws they can protest. They don't need us to butt in and save them from this "evil oppression" of women not being able to drive.
Why is the Queen not allowed to drive? maybe that culture prefers to chauffeur their women like how the Queen is chauffeured in the UK.
Thanks for making me laugh, to try and somehow turn it into a positive and the comparison is beyond ridiculous. One woman in a highly prominent position it isn't difficult to see why having a professional drive her is safer vs EVERY single woman in a whole country being denied the right. The queen undoubtedly agreed in public to be driven but where its safe she enjoys driving herself. Protest? you think they have the right to protest? amazing.
Any criticism of the government is against the law!!

Their check in staff denied my wife boarding on an India bound flight from Manchester during Easter last year due to their failure to verify her documents properly.

I always believed that check in staff are Airport staff , even if sometimes they are dressed in crew uniform.
What documents were they trying to verify? Did she not have a visa ? Please elaborate

No. Staff get 90% off.
Id90's if that's what you are referring to aren't necessarily 90% discounted :{

Yes, id90 is 90% off, but it's standby. id50/special tickets are confirmed but 50% off. That's how it is for emirates anyways.

I tried yesterday and it was working, today it isn't :(
Anyone managed to get it work? and anyone know the source of the code??
It was working fine for me yesterday and now I can't get it to work with the flights I was interested in or any other random ones I've put in to test it out.

I'm pretty confused and peeved off because I googled yesterday and the expiry date was listed as the 20th of May...?
Has the code expired? It was working when I tried it yesterday. :(

I haven't found any other flights anywhere near as cheap as this for the dates I am interested in.

Edit: typo.

Poor sport, no booze......pass. Sooner go to BSB at Snetterton just over £100 for two for the weekend. SBK at Donny about £160......better racing, full weekend of it, booze, bikes & bands.
any birds?
But agree, British Touring Cars full weekend at Thruxton £38 including paddock pass for both days, 5-6 hours racing on both days, camping £5 per night. That's less than I paid just for parking at the BGP at Silverstone a couple of years ago
Good grief, all of a sudden we are comparing camping in the UK with ABU DHABI F1 weekend, give me strength Lord!
Nope, we are comparing F1 to other motor sports...if you go to F1 in the UK you can camp, in the same way as you do in the UK if you go to BTTC or BSB, the difference is F1 in the UK (with camping) is about £300 per person but BTTC and BSB etc is a fraction of the price for the weekend (as mentioned previously)

The price is not accurate as everyone has stated but it is still a good price in my opinion as Silverstone works out a similar price tbf!

Found this. Looks very good if you get decent transfer rate. Can anyone with with ad account confirm exchange rate given from miles to cash?
Never seen that before - but I highly doubt you'll be getting a decent rate
Let me know if you find out
Agreed! And its not amex so you can have gold and this side by side giving you more than enough points for a one way upgrade to biz (atleast) on Etihad.
Checked out their "residence" - looks ridiculously (small and customised but not worth the probably £100k they would charge for it!)
Did some digging for you: http://www.headforpoints.com/2013/09/17/is-cashing-out-points-for-cash-ever-a-good-deal/
My answer is not worth it!
0.4p per miles means you can get £100 for 25000 miles!
still not that bad...it's like 5% cashback on £2000 of purchases

I don't see the point in keeping it after the bonus tbh, I realise Emirates / MBNA don't do churning

In about 2 years you should be able to get another bonus by churning with MBNA... just remember a lot of offers are through MBNA so if you take this it could stop you taking another card through MBNA...

This 25k is only good for shopping, if you want to fly you need to transfer amex points / buy points from Etihad / fly with Etihad to make this worth while.... If you just get the miles and don't use them within 2 years they expire....

Amex had a promo about transferring points to Etihad at a good exchange rate - if you combine the two you are on a winner...

Overall it's a great offer, if you are careful - if you just see the offer and sign up... then i would rather take the amex gold (if you don't have it)...

Note the taxes are so low on return flights... £13.30 from MNL to MAN.... for me it's a winner, i am going to get this and book a 1 way flight through QR (lots of miles to burn) and a 1 way flight with Etihad... As i have just got the Hilton Credit card - going to wait a few weeks before i apply..
cundall
Great deal, i was informed of this deal a week or so ago via headforpoints - if you combine with the gold Amex you can get some good deal on none UK departures.... worth getting, but a long term card... not a card for churning

I don't see the point in keeping it after the bonus tbh, I realise Emirates / MBNA don't do churning, but I can't imagine a better Etihad offer coming along anytime soon. After this card there will always be another one...Well that's my approach anyway.

They operate the Boeing 777, and 10 (yes ten) seats across.

Not if you're in business class.

And 10 wide on a777 is not uncommon.
If you say so. I'd rather enjoy the good service levels when flying long distances.
Couldn't care less about how professional the staff are or seat comfort.
The best price for your destination is what counts.
I personally love flying with them. Great service and very professional.

Long distance flights with open fires for heating, I'd give this airline a miss over the way they handle issues like this and lock down the media coverage surrounding issues.

Lufthansa occasionally have offers for around £450, I think one earlier in the year flew into KL but they sell out quickly. This is quite a good deal if only for the reason that you are flying into one place and flying out of another.

Just don't look at the tax figure on the ticket, that's the sad part :(

i think recently i saw a fare that was like £10 tax £150!!!
so annoying, i remember when you could get flights out to asia for £350 on the nicer airlines... cathay!!!

I'm not sure what "could of" means , Buddy.
Post your fare or troll elsewhere.

if you can find me a £300 flight in JULY to asia, then show me please

since i knew about my wedding invite 3 months ago, i have been looking non stop, and those who travel to asia will know of prices
with 30kg allowance this is a good offer, not forgetting i got a twin city flight for £525, and the cheapest price for a 30kg allowance was £700

Not sure if that hot. I got BA Newcastle to LHR connect to Singapore Airlines to Singapore to Brisbane, then return Sydney to Singapore, (2.5 day stopover in Singapore) Singapore - LHR to Newcastle in December (peak time) for £682 all included for a 3.5 week stay. These flights around this date are sold out whereas Feb/March is a bit quieter and if on mainland UK, don't have to factor in a flight, probably with baggage restrictions, to Dublin.
If in Dublin or NI though, seems OK.

You did very well. But checking now its very hard to get anything under £900 from either Newcastle or London.

Yup but booked in Jan or Feb, so well in advance. Trailfinders had access to the flights before they were advertised so snapped them up then.

Who is going to Dublin??? cold... this site is UK HOT DEALS !!!

For people who live in Northern Ireland (which is in the UK) like myself it is especially useful as Dublin is only a 1-2 hour drive.

Also, flights to Dublin from anywhere in the UK are very cheap so anyone can take advantage of this great price.

I use my library card on Ryanair flights......
I have Gold status with Aeroflot - do you think they will match for me?
I've emailed on behalf of my boss. He has gold with BA, Emirates, Swiss but can't say that when it gets to it they do him any good - yes he gets the lounges but the reward flights he wants are rarely available.

Hey, I'm off to NZ in October in economy so I won't feel too sorry for him :-)

Only Silver with EK (:

Worth still emailing them and see if they will grant you silver status. The perks are better then EK as you have access to all their lounges across their network.

Thailand is old news now.Full of old divorced chubby Brits. Not a very nice place these days. Head for Cuba for a decent holiday.

Northern thailand is very nice and not as touristy
I flew with Etihad last year LHR - KUL, then BKK - LHR and it's a great airline. Btw I found Malaysia better place than Thailand. But it depends what you're looking for.

Eva have always been spot on for me, cheapest direct flight and the 777-300ER has a great economy class. Good entertainment system and seats are fine (I'm 5'11'')

I'd much rather pay a bit extra for less hassle, you get to pick your own seats as well.

Theres nothing wrong with Eithad airways....if going by the online reviews Eithad actually have better reviews than Eva. End of the day its up to the individual. Have a good day :)

I agree, Etihad is by far the best airline I've flown on. Easily beats British Airways.

And I don't quite understand why people always post about them preferring a direct flight. (Genuinely) No offence intended but am I meant to care? You can also choose your own seats on any airline.

My dad only takes direct flights unless theres at least another alternative....even if it costs more. Its a real shame. I (within reason) will pick the cheapest flight I can get, even if theres a stop-over.
