Starting from today three uk customers will be able to use their existing allowances in 16 countries including Austria, Australia, Denmark, Hong Kong, Italy, ROI, Sweden, USA, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Macau. Now added is France, Switzerland, Norway, Finland and Israel

-This is Available for pay monthly, pay as you go, mobile broadband and business.
-You do not need to pay extra on your tariff
-Calls and texts to UK numbers come out of your inclusive allowance
-Data roaming comes out of existing allowance
-No charge to recieve a call when abroad
-Local calls/texts are charged at standard rate (20p a min, 7p a text)
-You can roam on any network in the country.
-More countries to be added soon (Unconfirmed)

http://www.three.co.uk/Discover/Phones/Feel_At_Home
(Remember to read all T&C before going abroad, they can be seen below)

So for example i have 2000 mins/5000 texts and unlimited data on my plan.

If i travel to Hong Kong i can roam on any network and use my minutes and texts to call any UK number. I can also receive calls for free and i can use data in the country for free because my allowance is unlimited. The only thing that costs is if i go over my allowances or if i make any local calls, they are charged at standard rate.

The best way to take advantage of this deal is buy a Three UK pay as you go sim. Top up £15 and buy the 300 min/3000 texts and unlimited data add on. Then when you travel to any of those countries you can use the allowances there free of charge. If you're already a three mobile customer then you're already set.

I originally posted this a while back on a different website but decided to post here because it's a hot deal i guess.

Limitations on Feel At Home.
There are some limitations on Feel At Home. See the website for more.

Official blurb "Note: If you're new to Three and have a new Pay Monthly SIM plan with us, you won't be able to use your SIM abroad for the first 30 days of your contract. If you want to use your phone abroad, you'll need to call us after 30 days to activate international roaming."

Update 04 December 2013
USA, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Macau added to its Feel At Home proposition.

Somebody did mention this as a deal yesterday but got some negative comments.

Nothing wrong with this deal, heat added.

Wish I'd had it last month in Australia though. :-(

Not allowed to tether when roaming.

I'm currently with three and TBH they need to do something to pull in/keep the customers as they are a nightmare to actually have to deal with, If it wasn't for the fact that I have had the best deals with three (granted through 3rd party sites) I would have left them years ago

They used to offer this years ago. It was a great service. When they cancelled it users were able to cancel their contract and keep the phone!

Hong Kong has Three HK so I imagine that you are "roaming" on to their own network

Shame it's not in France, out there for work in a fortnight or so.

They did, number of differences between now and then though.

-This offer is available to all customers even on pay as you go and mobile broadband tariffs
-The offer allows roaming on all networks, you do not have to be on the countries three home network.
-The offer includes unlimited data
-More countries are planned to be added soon (unconfirmed)

O2 do this in Spain etc as when I was in Ibiza it came from my PAYG allowance but iv recently changed to 3 for the All you can eat data. When I go Spain I change back to O2.

Shame its 3 but nevermind.

In a similar vein, can anyone recommend a method for using a smartphone in India (specifically Gujerat, if that makes a difference)? My parents are in the market for a new smartphone with maps and email functionality (probably an iphone 4S, if not a 5 if affordable) but we are struggling to understand how to prepare for roaming whilst there without it being expensive.

From what I gather, the law has changed recently and PAYG phones are no longer easy to purchase for travellers?

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not doubting you, but, do you have a link? :)

That's not the same at all. O2 charge standard rate (which is extortionate). Three charge UK rates or just out of your inclusive allowance.

So for example (as posted in the OP) You can buy a three sim for £15 with 300 mins/3000 texts and unlimited data and use those allowances when abroad. So it'll only cost you £15 for what should be more than enough for a months holiday.

This is not new. Three have been doing this for years now.

Great :)

In addition i remember reading on a forum recently the roaming data has FUP of 25 GB

As i dont even use that in the UK i'm not complaining! :) .... if it's true.

No they haven't.

They stopped the original roaming plan back in 2009. This is a new version with added benefits as described in post 24.
