What was the deal? I missed that one
Pro + Horizon + COD IW + Wipeout + Controller (I think)
Basically the same as the days of play sale
I'm personally waiting for Pro to go sub £300 before I buy one, maybe Black Friday will be kind

Even though I don't think Sony need to lower the price of the Slim or the Pro as I don't see the XOX threatening them to much. But I do think come October/November Sony will probably lower the RRP on the Pro to £299.
Marcoos

There's no Pro slim with a UHD drive coming, it's another rumour that was doing the rounds before E3 along with the price drop of the Pro
I stand corrected.

I am sure I read somewhere a Pro Slim c/w UHD drive was imminent?
A few thoughts on the Pro, for what it's worth. I bought one about 10 months or so ago from Amazon. they had some discounted units in a warehouse sale. With an additional 20% off for Prime members, plus a refund i received for not finding headset in the box, i paid a little over £200, to which all things considered (for a unit that looked brand new to me) was good value. I also have a Samsung KS7000 TV, 10 Bit with 1000 NIT (or thereabouts) HDR.
Is the Pro worth the premium over the base model? I think it really depends on just how important (sometimes relatively insignificant) increased visual fidelity is. There are games, Horizon a good example, where improvements are clear, but I would never classify them as vast. At 4K, things are sharp. Wipeout looks great. You might get a slightly improved draw distance on others, maybe improved shadow detail (does anyone on consoles really care about shadow detail?) minor improvements to lighting effects etc etc etc. This is at it's best. Down the scale of improvements there are plenty of halfway houses, checkerboard rendering, 1440p etc, slight improvements to dynamic resolution scaling. The thing is, these are still the self same games you're playing on the PS Slim. You might get a few more FPS, but if it's locked/capped 30FPS on the slim, it's 30FPS on the Pro.
Having had one for nearly a year now, would I pay £350 for a machine? No, I don't honestly think i would.
I don't have PSVR, so can't comment on it's performance influence.
I was very keen to obtain an Xbox One X, I love Halo and Forza, and have always picked MS machine over PS, as i preferred the Xbox exclusives. My experience with the Pro (which i have enjoyed owning) and now understanding that you are buying what i consider visual bells and whistles to stock gameplay has to be honest dampened my enthusiasm to forking out the premium over my much enjoyed Xbox One S

I'd take the risk if I was you. Only way I can see Wii U games making it on to the Switch is the remaster route like Mario Kart 8. Get that Wii U and enjoy that great catalogue of games it has
just orderd it, as you say they will just remaster them

Enjoy! :)

Even though I bought a switch yesterday tempted to buy this for the game backlog, but with my luck i will buy it and Nintendo will announce some add on for the switch to play Wii u games. Are there other bundles with different games?

Also look on Gumtree before going to CEX as you can probably get a Wii with games & couple of controllers for around the same price.
I have had a look at Gumtree, but tbh, cex looks pretty good value. The console is about £20 and some games are only a couple of quid. From the advice, it doesn't look worth getting the motion plus remote but is it worth getting the motion sensor bar for dance/ fitness games?
Fair enough - it's worth contacting people on Gumtree with a low offer - particularly when they've had it listed for a while - as most people are happy to get rid. Not sure what you been by the sensor bar but the balance board is needed for Wii Fit if you want to play that. Not sure how much cex charge but you can usually pick up balance boards pretty cheap 2nd hand.

A little more reasonably priced now, +£40 was a bit much. It will always be a choice game, i still play the original on my core grafx. £30 for Cave story is nuts but still not as nuts as the price of cave story on the 3ds!
Definitely overpriced at anything over £15. But it is an all time classic, and I know it will suit the Switch and be a great fun local multiplayer game. So bought it at £30.

Too many Switch games are massively overpriced though. Look at Cave Story £30 on Switch and free on PC for the same game! Streetfighter is another one overpriced.
Dammit OP. You made me go out and spend £30 now!
Wish they would release the SNES bomberman on the switch. Gameplay and music were insanely good.
It's definitely in store. I got it there, all marked down.
30 is a reasonable price. I vaguely remember my snes Bomberman costing 50 squid back in the day

Scandalous the price of xb1 wireless controllers! Ive stick drift with second and am keeping an eye out for a new one
I had stick drift. There's a few vids on youtube. You open it up and remove a small bit of grey plastic. Stops the drift. Wasn't very difficult and I have sausage fingers. Just need a small flathead screwdriver.
And the performance is perfect now?
I'd imagine it would be a short term fix and difficult to reach the exact manufacturer's specifications on the axes.
Many people have said the repair attempt has made their pad worse and they wished they left it with a mild drift where it was somewhat useful still.
It goes from my character walking on their own to not. This is an improvement for me.
The 2nd vid after the one I linked goes down the new module route but I kinda figured if the person I was replying to was confident with soldering irons and buying new parts he wouldn't be sat there with stick drift would he?
Maybe he didn't know that it was a serviceable part and an option?
It could've easily been an integrated part of the motherboard. By the time you've faffed doing the adjustment method to a satisfactory standard it may well have been quicker and longer lasting to swap out the module.
Well like I said the vid does mention the replacement option too and that vid follows on from the 'flick the grey bit out with a screwdriver method'.

I'm not going to disagree repairing it always going to be better if you can be bothered and have the skills and tools.

I can only quote my own experience that the stick feels a tiny, tiny bit loose in the neutral position but it doesn't impede it's use for me. :p

You able to send a link for one of those videos? Would really appreciate it. I keep seeing the ones for using alcohol to clean around the stick but dont really fancy trying that. I have 2 controllers, one drifts forward constantly so unplayable and the one I have only had for about 6 months drifts to the left now and again, really annoying!
Forget all that rubbish. If you really want to fix it then buy new thumbstick modules and a soldering iron.
Desolder the old modules and put new ones in. (Though you'll struggle to get one s models with the 33% improved resistance) You'll find the sticks feel sloppy in comparison.
Personally I'd sell it as spares or repair for ~£15 and use the money you get from it to go towards a new One S pad.

If anyone is still looking for this, then SHOPTO is still accepting back orders. I backordered a few weeks back and it was delivered today. I don't think there has been live stock listed on the site though - it must all be allocated to fulfill back orders. Still, a good way to acquire for RRP.

Seriously is this game the new mini nes / snes or something. Why is it so hard to buy a game that is supposed to show what VR is capable of.
{Edit} - now i see they back for sale by MohnyMedia for an extra £100 on top of RRP - i guess game is now a middle man for scalpers?

I don't think GAME had a limit on no. that could be purchased. I had 10+ at final checkout this morning (just to see if they would let me) but didn't purchase as I already have the item.

(Note: gouging money directly from other folks pockets - i.e. scalping - does not interest me as I already have a full time job... and oh yes, morals as well!)
Also in stock at very
Have this game and it shows what vr can actually do. Yes we will always play majority of the time in 3d, but vr certainly has its place. Although this is the only vr game that can make me feel a bit sick, find it's the movement and walking around.
After I signed, it still shows as out of stock even after a page refresh :(

Dang I missed out. I've been looking for one around this price. Can't justify spending much more than that when I already have YouTube and everything on my TV, would just love to be able to show my games and photos etc on my TV
Good to play iOS games on (stuff like the mega drive ones) but generally outdated. Most TVs have this built in now don't they?
Sold out...
Might be much better off with a firestick. Was interested in this for Plex but a quick Google suggests the official Plex app is only available on the TV 4. I'm sure there's an unofficial way if you are inclined. Cheers Si

This game is pretty average, archaic systems and really not worth the fee when there are much better MMO games out there. Wait for Black desert
Or Tera, that one is really good

Please be advised that this promotion cannot be used to extend the duration of free play periods granted by other campaigns. The only negative based on this deal, which would be a simpler process would be the 14 days compared to the 30 days with this..."Moreover, players whose subscription has expired will also be granted fourteen days of free play starting from the day they upgrade to the PlayStation®4 version."

Cannot do this anymore. PS3 version is not supported anymore. You simply cannot register the PS3 version, via console, webpage or PSN at all.
I've tried a brand new copy of the game two weeks ago, didn't work and was informed the game isn't supported on older platforms anymore.
The PS3 disc is completely useless now.
You cannot upgrade the PS3 version anymore.
I've tried it a couple of weeks ago.was told by the games customer support the PS3 game is no longer supported.

The PS3 game is just a coaster at this point, don't waste your money.

A PS3 is required to upgrade. It's quite a lot of hassle as you need to install the game on the PS3 and if I recall you need to log in on the PS3 version at least once. I had download so many patches oO .
Yeah it's quite a long process to get the PS3 version installed a patched, depends how much spare time you have and how much you value it.
Yes, servers are cross platform

Actually the servers being cross platform is the main issue they are facing bringing the game to other platforms (switch, xbox) because they don't want to divide players at all

I hope that they patch it. I don't understand why this practice still exists. Is it based on laws?Just give us the 60Hz versions, I am sure all HD TVs can out put at this freq.
Maybe email them too? Yeah it's a stupid practice and there is no reason for them to be selling a 50hz version of the game. Even back in 2000/2001 it was stupid for games not to support 60hz as standard.
I haven't bought it yet, been holding off because of the wholr 50/60Hz thing. Saw some BS response from Crapcom else where on the internet. I might drop them a line as well.

Aparantly it puts you at a super disadvantage of gaining an A rank on playthroughs.

Yeh I watched the digital foundry video in this first I knew about the UK PS2 games and bought US one
Yeah I emailed Capcom about it about a month or two ago and they said they forwarded it on. But nothing has came of it confused
Rockstar patched the GTA games to 30fps60hz after it too was 25fps at 50hz.

game.co.uk logoGAME: A Corporate History

GAME have been one of the leading players in the UK’s electronic entertainment sector since being founded in 1991. The company ran into financial trouble in the 2000s, resulting in a takeover in 2012 and a reorganisation of the company’s stores. The firm that emerged retains a presence in most towns of the UK, with over 300 high street stores under the GAME brand. These stores are full of the latest releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Wii U systems, and also stock large numbers of pre-owned titles that are often available at big discounts.

How to Buy Products from GAME

GAME operates an online store at www.game.co.uk and a large number of brick and mortar stores across the UK. The easiest way to locate the nearest GAME outlet is by using the firm’s website. Just input your postcode in the store finder, and a selection of nearby shops will be displayed.

Using the GAME Online Store

GAME has a fully stocked online store, where gaming fans can find up to the minute titles, game systems and accessories. Product categories on the GAME website include:

  • Games and gaming systems in different formats – Systems supported include PS4, PS Vita and PS3. Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
  • Online digital services – Customers can also purchase titles for online gaming platforms including Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network, the Nintendo eShop and PC gaming networks.

Shopping with game.co.uk – Registration, GAME Reward Programme and Trade-In

Many people choose to shop online at the GAME.co.uk store, rather than visiting GAME’s high street stores. That’s mainly because when you order online, many new releases are available with discounts of £5 or more (before any extra savings are applied). Ordering itself is simple, and uses a traditional shopping cart system. Customers have the choice to order as a guest or to register as a customer and save their personal information for the next order. They are furthermore asked to register with GAME’s loyalty scheme, which is called GAME Reward, and allows customers to accumulate reward points every time they make a purchase. These points are deposited in a GAME Wallet, which functions as an ordering terminal where customers can find out about new releases and use their points to buy them. You can also get a physical GAME Rewards card that can be linked to your online wallet by entering your card number, surname and postcode.

When you have some unwanted entertainment goods or played-through games laying around, GAME´s trade-in service might be an option. Just go to the “Trade-In” section and get the value of your item with the trade-in price checker and send the product via parcel to GAME. Alternatively, you can trade-in your electronics at your local store.

How to Pay for GAME’s Products

GAME accepts a wide variety of payment methods, aside from the GAME Wallet mentioned above. You can pay via MasterCard, VISA, Maestro and Solo debit and credit cards, and PayPal is also supported. However, American Express is currently not supported by game.co.uk.

Shipping From GAME

The online store offers free delivery for all UK customers and cheap delivery to EU and worldwide locations. On orders up to £75 free delivery is via Royal Mail 2nd class, and you can expect your packages within 2 to 3 business days. Orders from £75 to £150 are delivered with Hermes Tracking and are also free. DPD deliver GAME’s orders between £150 and £350 in value, and are also free of charge. Charges only start to apply if you need your order delivered first class or next day. Note that free delivery only applies to orders directly from GAME. Deliveries from individual sellers on the GAME marketplace may well have higher charges, so be sure to check.

How to Return Your Products to GAME

GAME offers a 30 day return and refund policy for all items ordered online. Be aware that only items returned with the seal intact can be refunded or exchanged. If you find that software is faulty, returns can take place within 3 months after the purchase respectively up to 12 months for hardware or 12 months for preowned items. When you are returning an item online, the first thing to do is contact GAME's Customer Service Team via the contact form on the website.

Then send your return to this address:

  • RETURNS DEPARTMENT
  • Game Retail Limited
  • Unity House
  • Telford Road
  • Basingstoke
  • Hampshire
  • RG21 6YJ

Include your order number, the name of the item, an explanation of the fault and whether you desire a refund or a replacement. The costs for the return of unwanted items have to be paid by the customer. Customers paying via PayPal should also note that they cannot obtain a refund, but are permitted to exchange their goods under GAME’s returns policy. The return will take up to 10 working days.

Returning items is free if you take them to a GAME store. Please note that items purchased in-store cannot be returned by post.
