Avoid any "gaming" PC with the Ryzen 4500. Worse performance than the 5 year old Ryzen 3600

I agree it isn’t the best and there will be a slight bottleneck, will still be perfectly fine and you can upgrade in the future.

    Real gamers use Intel+Nvidia

Ha. Mods doing a cracking job. Instead of "moderating" the troll, they're moderating the people calling out the troll!

    A little bit backwards...

Be better off dropping to 16GB RAM and having at least a 5600 in there.

Solid deal but yer 5600x ideally to go with a 4060 (edited)

I was going to wote hot - until noticed cpu - for this price 4500 NOT a good deal at all. I think Intel version would be better...

If you are going to spend this much, spend few more and get from palicomp.co.uk... £700 that is best deal.

What's the difference from policomp sorry? New to PC gaming and looking for a budget entry option

Either get the intel version or sell the 4500 and replace with a 5600, should only cost £40-50 extra once you sell the 4500 (been deals around £90 for the 5600).

Somebody buying a prebuild isn't going to be getting this, voiding the warranty then buying a 5600/X.

Is there a CPU that can be slotted in to replace a 4500 that is a substantial upgrade?

Any am4 cpu as far as I’m aware, something like a 5600x would be a nice upgrade.

If it's still on... There was an am5 7600 with 4060 for £700 from sarden who is now taking a break. That is on the next platform and so much faster.

A520 is limited to PCIE 3.0. I'd be very wary of buying anything on 3.0 these days especially when the 4060 only has 8x PCIE interface.

Likely to cause a bottleneck in both GPU and storage speeds, if not now almost certainly in the future.
    James_Harking's avatar
An RTX4090 using PCIE 3.0 is at most 3-5% slower. Just check the number of lanes your GPU uses.
