Also in "Tiger" for 5£
I have bought a craft glue gun for my boy in School with all the projects he gets in early years primary school. I have found that the 7mm glue sticks are more expensive and you end up using more of the stick to try and get it to stick whatever you are working on so when my sticks run out I will be buying a cheap one from screwfix so that the sticks are bigger and cheaper to use frequently. It's also easier to buy more sticks whenever you need them as most people now have a Screwfix near them. http://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttb580htl-glue-gun-230-240v/16101 it's only £9.99 as well

£6.55 will get you one of these plus 50 glue sticks here.
It's not Hobbycraft branded, but I have both and the HC gun gave up the ghost before this one did, so I suspect that quality is much of a muchness with these cheap guns.
Thanks :)

Check out the reviews first it's not looking good
glue sticks are best ordered online. last time I got any I paid 85p for 10 7mm sticks, that was on amazon and I didnt look for long. sure ebay would be even cheaper.

Useless. This type of machine doesn`t lock the thread, it uses only one thread so if you pull the thread or it breaks, it simply comes undone.
Nice. Good for ...err... doing things ;)

Its a waste of money. I did only 2 jobs and broke, which I would have got them done from a tailor in £10. And this can only handle small jobs.
At least one person on here found it useful, which is something. oO

Do you have to water the tree or does it seal and keep the moisture in ?
Interesting how it keeps your tree alive for 12 months.

Got one last year, stored the tree in it and when I took it out this year the tree was dead just a mass of decomposed pine needles.

Thinking of getting an artificial tree this year.

What store please ?

According to my local store they were all sent back so probably only 1 or 2 bigger stores would be selling then off.

Thanks

Can you use this to stitch torn clothes ? Sorry to sound dumb but I really need a sewing machine for light work like when something gets frayed etc

Better to buy a good full sized basic one or find a local seamstress.
I'm a bit of a seemstress and although (and please correct me if I'm wrong) these are very cheap I highly suspect they will be as good as useless and may even end up damaging your clothes. Far better to invest a little more money into a good basic sewing machine or if you just have a one off repair, take it to a professional as it shouldn't cost much more depending on what needs doing but you can ask for a quote in any case.

These machines are a total waste of money. They are far too small to tackle most sewing tasks and even though they seem like a good idea to buy for a child don't bother as its far better to spend the extra and get a full size machine. My girls are both teenagers and have full sized machines as I tried the smaller ones and tbh they were just useless at sewing anything and it just got my kids frustrated
These are generally £12 if you look around and to be honest they are a bit naff. Only ok for thin materials like shirts. Sorry cold.
it's a toy!

Hobbycraft - a British firm providing everything for the dedicated hobbyist

HobbycraftThe first Hobbycraft store opened in Dorset in 1995 and since then expansion has been rapid. The Haskins Group, which runs a chain of garden centres in the south of England, was the original owner of Hobbycraft. As Hobbycraft became more and more successful, Haskins sold the entire business in 2010 to Bridgepoint Capital, a private equity group with interests across Europe. The company continues to expand and has achieved its aim of being the number one destination for customers seeking craft supplies in the UK. Most of its physical stores are in retail parks and, while the initial focus was in the south of England, there are now Hobbycraft centres throughout England with an expanding presence in Scotland.

Customers who prefer to visit one of Hobbycraft's many stores can use the clickable storefinder on their website to find the nearest branch.

Hobbycraft: Online Shop

The online shop at www.hobbycraft.co.uk offers the company’s full product range. The products are arranged in the following online departments:

  • Craft Essentials

  • Kids – Including sections on Kids' Craft Kits and Kids' Dressing Up.
  • Home Crafts – Including Candle Making, Mosaics and Model Railways.
  • Jewellery Making
  • Occasions – With sub-sections on Baby Showers, Hen Parties, Gift Wrap and Party Supplies.
  • Handmade Wedding
