Had only won hot dogs and doughnuts for years, however this year got bedding and picture frame so maybe they've increased prises or mixed things up a bit.
I went to ikea 2 weeks ago can I go back and scan my reciept??
JusticeForThe96
Is it true that you can't actually scan your receipt on the day of purchase?

You can scan your receipt on the day- but you can only scan one receipt per day.

These brushes are great. Used to struggle cleaning bathroom nooks and crannies with a sponge but these do a much better job and last ages.

You can use the back edge to remove stuck on wheel weights as well. You'll probably spend 10x that amount for a dedicated tool

Practically all gone when I tried this evening. One or two left for two seater and corner sofas. Not worth a special journey.

Did they have any grey ones in Leeds?
Not for £10.00, that's what we actually went for, grey ones are full price, got the cream ones to use as spare when washing the grey ones

In the clearance bit near checkouts.

Whereabouts in store were they?
They were in the reduced bit near checkouts, wasn't just the odd one, there was a few shelves full and also a pallet on the floor, about 50 or so at a guess, not all same colour, all mixed, we managed to get 2 cream covers for the three seater as a spare when washing others.

it sounds like you need a family card to get this discount, which leads me to ask "how do you get a family card? do you have to make a kid to qualify?"
Family of 1 is acceptable too. (Their words, not mine: Some clubs are for the select few, but the IKEA FAMILY is for everyone)
Just register your details and get your card from here
You can also get a temporary card from instore kiosks (the same ones you claim your prize from) for immediate use.
The card proper then arrives in the mail a couple of week later.
Thank you.

If you happen to live near an ikea wouldn't it be common sense to pick it up?

If it fits in your car and are strong enough to lift it and you earn less than £35 a hour or the appropriate calculation for time -v- loss earnings. Common sense really ;)

N.B. 27.6 kg is half my body mass! Ever been to Ikea? Can you get out within 30 minutes in their maze, where you are forced to walk around the store?

Great charging plug, got to IKEA at the weekend it charges my iPad my work tablet Samsung and my phone all at the same time, thanx
these fully charges 2 xperia z's and an ipad 3rd gen over night fully. if using to charge 1 device they ok for quick charging but when all 3 used you need an overnight charge.
Cheers, been looking to buy a multiple USB charger and something that could charge faster than my current adapters.
Also got a £5 voucher so know where I'm off to tomorrow :)
these are great but only work on 240V. if you travel to America they don't work on 110V bit annoyed.

Given the shape of UK plugs & US sockets

I would say the 220v/110v was the least of your worries.

Good publicity by Ikea, but then they've always included them in the furniture I've bought from them anyway. It's up to the parents to actually fit them, and watch their children to avoid accidents.

Funny that - I bought some furniture a few months ago - mostly kids stuff, some had restraints, others didn't. The wardrobe had them, but the drawers didn't.

perhaps those didnt need attaching to the wall?

I know, but the essential comment I made still stands. They've always supplied the restraints, but the parents still have to fit them and watch their children properly. It's not like they don't already make this clear at the end of their instruction sheets.

Mind you don't trip on the label. Ikea soft toys have about 6 metres sewn in for some ludicrous reason.

I think little ones love these teddy's for that reason! My little girl who is now nearly 3 has had her 'teddington' since she was tiny and she used to love playing with the label... she still won't go to bed without him :-)

I just don't understand why aren't there chademo rapid chargers in central London where 80% of residents for not have access to off street parking to order a home charge. heck if running an extension cable on the pavement I'd do so from my flat to the car.
I don't understand why anyone who lives in London even needs a car.....
to get around or go dogging
going in the bus might get busy
Not a Londoner, however I've driven my car in London. It was a HUGE mistake. It was very costly in parking, just in freaking Tooting. I drove all of three miles and it took around 45 minutes. Not that far away in Reading, and I can travel 6 miles in 12 minutes.
Driving really does seem pointless in London.
thats too far for dogging
& reliance on them is orchestrated by government who sold them off as to short term profitability & now run to ransom, ..govt, donors & political partners have had good reason to hold back tech development which could have been implemented years ago!

Look what Nevada state is doing to solar roof owners in terms of holding them to ransom to cushion the power companies! (check it out).

whilst a mix of energy types is preferable, adapt & change is also good, thus the micro grid aspect, however if this involves power companies cycling my car battery from full - 50% for grid load or wasteful **** I'm not happy as they wont cover losses nor lump sums required for eventual component replacement.

IF houses were of a decent standard insulation, (vs hot & cold) we'd pretty much balance out, if a home is expending 3x more than it needs for heating & cooling that is a lot of potential recovery & way less power station emissions ramping up & down.

If we built a modern energy efficient extension in form of a flat on the end of our property it's likely we'd save a estimated 20% on our annual heating useage because of a properly insulated wall where the main wind blows from, making heating & cooling far easier,& less draughty due to improved envelope (North facing) ..never mind what the new efficient extension (flat) took to heat.

Our aim / ideal is that all our energy bills should only be as much as our summer bill costs all year round due to proper design & reduced energy requirements, most of the rest is waste through crud building design (like radiators beneath windows oO

cold from me as electric cars are a con, charging point or no charging points still using fossil fuel at the power station to charge it.
So what is petrol, ..the point is to move the efficiency upward & the emissions downward in the first instance, EV is not the magic pill but is useful to instigate change.
ergo if the efficiency of the electric motor is significantly higher & delivers more for less pollution that is where we are aiming for, ..also less emmisions = cleaner lungs, less costly pollution repair (buildings etc) ..pollution related medical conditions start to drop... etc etc.
yes petrol and diesel are even more polluting in my opinion too and i also think it's what is responsible for all the mounting incidences of cancer we are seeing nowadays but the govt and others presenting EV as the better option is still in my opinion a con, as you indirectly still relying largely on some fossil fuel powered station somewhere.

depends on how many vampire loads folk expend as a country! ...that is "waste" on a grand scale, scale that back & you have a proper baseline from which to work from, exactly why LED has finally come of age & acceptance (build quality dependent & avoiding tech hyperbole).

cold from me as electric cars are a con, charging point or no charging points still using fossil fuel at the power station to charge it.
The fact is that are lots more greener than otherwise. Also, who's to say that every one uses electricity that is supplied by fossil fuels? You can get 100% renewable energy to your house, yknow?
That partly true, as some do have solar in their homes and there is of course windmill farms as well as the nuclear energy option (which is not necessarily polluting but if goes wrong catastrophic) but also these electric cars run through a lot of batteries throughout their lives and that too in itself is very polluting.

Actually look at Nuclear decontamination of a regular site & materials that is embedded contamination, as are the beaches (restricted) & nearby outfalls, regular "fails" are recorded.

Remember too plenty of barrels of contaminated waste from reactors simply tossed overboard by our government (still rotting away & leaking) affecting everything in the sea, ...some good pieces on you-tube about it all.

Nuclear isn't safe, it is damn costly to build one of the variety of reactors (hinkley design yet to be built is a really naff design plagued with problems) ...then closing it down is fricking eyewatering in terms of decommisioning & the time spent storing waste still costs, ...therefore for folk to look at the mere unit cost in production is frankly misleading when put out as £ per MegaWatt by government.

Affordable, well-designed furniture for every size of home at IKEA

IKEA was established in 1943, by Ingvar Kamprad; the unusual name is an acronym, representing the founder’s initials, along with those of the house and town where he grew up, Elmtaryd and Agunnaryd. The business initially dealt with mail orders, but began opening physical stores in the 1950’s. These were joined by international IKEA branches from the 1960s. Now there are nearly 400 stores around the globe and in 2008, IKEA was confirmed as the world’s biggest furniture shops. They keep prices low by asking customers to be part of the retail process, in that their role is to assemble the flat packs of furniture that IKEA is famous for.

Where to Shop for IKEA Furniture

IKEA have a well-organised retail website where most items are available to purchase online. For access to every product in their range, you’ll have to visit one of their 21 UK shops. To find your closest branc, click on “Your Local IKEA Store“ on their website and then select a location for more information.

What’s on Offer at IKEA?

IKEA organise their website into a number of different departments, so that shoppers can easily navigate to the products they need:

  • Outdoors – The IKEA garden furniture collection includes tables, chairs, sofas and parasols. There are items to suit larger spaces and smaller balcony or patio areas.
  • Living Room – As well as comfortable seating, the IKEA living room section has TV stands, media storage cabinets, side tables, and lighting.
  • Bedroom – Shop here for bedroom storage, beds, plus mattresses and duvet covers, along with king-size, single, and double bedframes. They also have a range of lighting solutions and mirrors.
  • Bathroom – This section includes everything you’d need for the bathroom, from towels and flannels, to mirrors and toothbrush holders. There are also large items like wash stands and basins for bigger projects.
  • Kitchens – IKEA enable their customers to design the layout of a kitchen then choose cabinets, worktops and storage to complete the bespoke look. You can also find smaller items like trolleys, knife holders and containers to organise the space you have.
  • Storage – If you need to tidy up and pack away day to day items, clothing or a collection of articles, then this is the perfect place to start. From sturdy plastic under bed boxes, to cardboard containers and glass jars for little odds and ends, it’s all here.
  • Dining – From intimate dining solutions to larger tables for big families, this category has it all. Choose from sturdy wooden chairs, stackable stools, cafe type furniture, plus a selection of eating and drinking accessories.
  • Children – In this area you can find pieces of furniture that are designed with younger users in mind. There are coordinating sets to furnish an entire room, rugs, bedding and toy storage systems. You can also shop for curtains, toys and pin boards.
  • Textiles and Rugs – Here you can find textiles that can be cut to a specific length for personal projects, as well as a variety of rugs, curtains, cushion covers and bedding. There is also table linen and fixings for attaching curtain rods or rails.
  • Home Office – For people who work from home, IKEA have a section dedicated to desks, chairs and media organisers. There are cable management boxes, bins, lights and laminate flooring, to complete the effect.

Wonderful Everyday Life with IKEA

Delivery options from IKEA

IKEA deliver to most parts of England, Scotland and Wales.  To see if you are eligible for delivery, use their Postcode checker.

You can choose between two options when you’d like IKEA to deliver your order. The first is Parcel Delivery which is used to send items weighing up to 25kg. This service costs £7.50 and is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, and is provided by Parcel Force. However, if you order a range of smaller items, they could have a combined weight of 100kg so please be aware of possible charges.

Many of the items IKEA deliver are large, so as part of their Truck Delivery service, they will bring your purchase in to any room in your home. Truck Delivery charges start from £35, but vary depending on your postcode; the actual price is worked out during the ordering process. Within 72 hours of your order being placed, IKEA will tell you when they’ll be delivering your goods. If you provide a mobile number, you can also expect a text message to confirm the date.

Returning Unwanted Items to IKEA

You can return faulty or unwanted goods to IKEA within 365 days, even if the item is assembled. It does need to be in a resaleable condition however. To get a refund from IKEA here’s what you need to do:

  1. Contact IKEA and explain that you’d like to return an item.
  2. They will instruct you to either send it back through the Post Office or arrange a courier to pick it up
  3. If you cancel the whole order within 14 days of receipt, your delivery costs will be refunded.
  4. The refund will be credited back to the original payment source.

Alternatively, take the item back to an IKEA store, along with your proof of purchase. Your refund will be credited to the card you paid on.
