Expired yesterday this code but still works. Ordered. Thanks!

john lewis insurance expensive, tried that
It was one of the cheaper quotes I had for premier buildings cover - not the cheapest but was unlimited cover on rebuild costs and looked to be quite well rated.

For me as well. Very cheap if you live in a nice area.

I'm very unlikely to ever use Jewson again. This was a terrible experience all in all.

Don't blame you! I was thinking of doing a click and collect but I'm glad I didn't now! My Nest was delivered next day no problem but the only email I received was the one confirming my order was placed. Nothing stating when it was posted or scheduled to arrive.

Didn't even get that email. After spending this morning speaking to them, they cannot confirm whether or not it will be in store today. I spoke to store and head office more than once.

Anyone else that has terrible experiences dealing with Jewson?

1 no email confirmations whatsoever (was told that some email servers reject their emails. Spam lists?)

2 Click and collect store (should it be called click and collect if it is posted to store after order?!) has no idea how online orders are processed so I've been calling every day since Saturday to see if there's an update.

3 head office talk to me as if their process is crystal clear and I'm stupid for being confused exactly what is happening (despite acknowledging that no email confirmations were sent!)

I'm very unlikely to ever use Jewson again. This was a terrible experience all in all. It's now Tuesday morning and I still have no idea when or if I can ever collect this.

Lowest price ever. Good deal if it fits your needs.
There is no way these are/were worth £10. All the super markets had them at Xmas
for under £10 which they then reduced to £1.50 to £2.50 when we had no snow .

Could be handy for clearing out Duck Houses and sweeping up brown envelopes or honours reward letters .
Has James Madden started his record breaking winter crap yet, you know predictions of the worst winter ever, 90 days of 20 foot snow drifts. He usually starts predicting it around the end of August, and the Daily Express will do their usual sensationalist headlines. Shovel might come in handy.
Nice find OP, been looking for one of these on the cheap for shovelling up the little ones toys!
Perfect for the height of summer.

Hi, cheers for the reply, I am looking around at the moment as I have a big order to place in the the next few weeks but not sure who to go with.
Capelli - I have and it is good quality turf, laid it over a month ago and it has taken well and is still lush green, even with the kids playing on it. Jewson pass the order to Rolawn who pass the order to one of their local suppliers, they contact you with a delivery time/date.
Did anyone order this and can comment on their experience and the product etc?
golfyboy - if your only covering 1m2 then better off using seed.

NPower are offering these for free (installed) if you sign up to their dual fuel package.
Looked at that tariff and with my usage over the year it would cost an extra £200 on my bills. Better off just buying one.

Possibly but now I have mine without paying up front I am already monitoring my energy use and cutting back accordingly (including remotely) thus usage over the year will be less.

Thanks for the replies/comments reference the Hive unit - currently I have a manual Honeywell thermostat in the hallway which seems to work ok (although looks a bit basic/a little dated I guess!) Would the Hive unit just connect here, on the existing wires/circuit?

Thanks.

The Hive thermostat connects to a hub which is plugged into your router wirelessly. Your old Honeywell stat is just linked out. Hive also has Geolocation which notifies you if you want your heating on or have left it on when you leave home.
Why do the links take you to Edf and British Gas?

Tado. Check it out.
Been looking at this, but cannot tell why it's better than Nest. I'd appreciate your reasons why you chose the Tado over Nest

I think the main reason is the location sensing, so it will know when you are close to home and heat your house up but that can be done on the nest with a little work.

2 we have are fantastic can't fault them at all. Had them for about 6 months with no bother. I love the light the way function in the night.
Spent £1500 on getting nine of these fitted, my family don't bat an eyelid anymore to an alarm sounding. False alarms in the middle of the night, unable to silence alarm here messages. Luckily the next door neighbours aren't often around. Returned loads, got two more waiting to go back. Good customer service, unreliable product. Thermostats great though.
Had one for 8 months without issue and have just installed another one. I'd happily recommend.
Keep an eye on eBay for bargains, I got my first one for £70 incl del. and the second for £75.20, incl del.
We've had two of the battery ones for the last year and not had a single false alarm or any other issue so I'd happily recommend them.
These have a terrible reputation. Even Nest's own employees slate them.

For plaster / cement you should be using 110 v drill /tools as it should be by all builders. It should be illegal to use 240v tools by professional builders.
Rubbish brand. It's more like a toy
Good for plaster/cement mixing with a paddle-thanks op!
500w only good for light DIY jobs .You need minimum 650-700w for medium tough jobs like drilling into medium hard masonry and drilling with flat bit into wood .

They've been having these for a while, but even with a juicy £10 for only £30 spend I still couldn't find anything of decent value enough for me to order....let us know if you find a good deal though!

I bought one of these, as I need to torch some felt into my new log store: http://www.jewsontools.co.uk/gaz-thp3000-high-power-gas-torch-with-gas.html
Surprising cause the shop has good prices on building materials.
overpriced place!
Heat for the find :)

Briggs and Stratton is good.
Fuel stabilser in your petrol can, then a smaller 1litre container for your petrol/2stroke oil mix which goes in the machine.
Even if only mixing fresh petrol I would still use fuel stabiliser as it keeps the petrol left inside the machine good and stops things gumming up.
My older pullcord Ryobi is about 5yrs old now, so they can last if treated properly. You also need ear defenders, gloves, and maybe face/eye shield.

Edited By: cootuk2 on Aug 30, 2013 10:38
cootuk2
Remember to use fuel stabiliser if you store petrol for this, and it also stops the carb varnishing up during storage.

Do you have any recommendations for fuel stabiliser? I was under the impression that you can just use those 2stroke oil in small containers. Sorry for all the q - I've never used petrol gardening stuff before.

Edited By: mellonfarmcharmer on Aug 30, 2013 10:10
for thicker stuff there's a solid brushcutter attachment rather than a trimmer line...nettles would be ok strimmong, brambles depends how old and thick they are.
Remember to use fuel stabiliser if you store petrol for this, and it also stops the carb varnishing up during storage.
Is this any good for brambles, nettles and stuff more coarse than an overgrown lawn?
