its ram is exactly the same as the one on my phone... avoid !! no way to go with 4gb
Just to mention I own this tablet and its rock solid and totally reliable. , in fact it's probably the best tablet I have ever used and it even runs a lot of new games on low settings
not the same and £130 for the board common and 4GB ram hmmm
For what you get I think these are great value but the keyboards are pricey for what they are but very useful. You cant really compare this to a ipad/ipad pro as these are so much more versatile and powerful.

However if you dont need the power of the Pro 4 the Surface 3 4gb is excellent. For me the 3 4gb is a more convenient size and weight and plenty powerful enough for anything I ask of it, its also got better battery life and is charged via micro USB. The 4 is just too heavy for prolonged use as a tablet in my experience.

insane it doesn't even come with a keyboard
so do the iPads!

11.6" FHD

32GB is limiting though, according to review, not enough space to do anniversary update.
I agree, would definitely go with the t100 chi at this price for the extra drive space. JL need to confirm the right model / spec. I remember when the miix 300 was first advertised by them I asked them if it came with the keyboard as it wasn't shown in the advert and they said NO. I suggested they should get someone to open a box and check as I knew it did. How can people right up adverts without having the product in front of them or companies have technical people who answers queries with false rubbish.

Asus T100 Chi is the one to look for at this price point. I got one on the recent offer and it's a cracking bit of kit with a premium feel/quality build. It's got 64gb on board and FHD screen and an active stylus so much better spec than this and the battery life is great. I stuck a 128gb micro sd card in it and i'm using it a lot more than I originally intended.

Spot on! The T100 Chi is way better than the other machines selling for around the same price. Excellent screen, 64GB, good build quality, and reasonable keyboard. The micro-usb connector is a possible niggle for some, but the Bluetooth keyboard connection gives me nor real problems. I think the balance of features certainly gives a nice little unit. It is no XPS13, but I won't cry if it gets nicked or I drop it.
Don't forget the Toshiba Click 10. The older one with the Z3x processor is cheap and runs just fine. The one by the OP is good though...

who makes barbecues for John Lewis? Is there a decent brand behind them?

Leisuregrow.
They could have given 20 years for the stainless steel hood for the value of that warranty, would have made no difference. Like saying a car has a 10 year warranty but only giving this 10 years to the brake pedal, for example, something that would rarely wear out.

I have the 58 inch version and although they say HDR a lot, this TV does not have full HDR compliance, it's just HDR compatible meaning it will display HDR content but won't have the full gamut. However, gimmicks aside, this TV has superb black levels and picture quality and that's all that matters surely?
Thanks for clearing that up, sick of these sly ways that companies false advertise (_;)
Yeah it's wrong to put HDR on the box when it's not HDR10 compliant. When I go into the options on mine, I have a picture option called HDR mode but it just seems to add more colour to the picture. I still think HDR is overated and will no doubt become the norm in a few years. The TV is incredible and I play a lot of games on my PC and Xbox One, and watch blurays and the picture quality is the best I've ever had, and I owned a 50 inch Sony 50W829 previously and that was an awesome set but this LG blows it away in the game mode and movie mode straight out of the box.
Can I ask what's it like at standard def I.e. Non HD freeview?

Hmm I wouldn't purchase any new TV if Standard definition is your main source. I generally watch only Sky HD channels, stream HD from Netflix/amazon or play blurays. I haven't had a lot of viewing in standard definition but what I have watched is very average of a new TV, mine is the 58" version so I suppose it shows the blemishes even more, it's quite 'cloudy' if that makes sense, it's not unwatchable but you can tell when you aren't in HD that's for sure.

Save your money, big clunky cheap built slow phone. Moto g3 with 2gb kicks the phone out the box, seriously get a g3, I have this phone, rubbish, fell for the hype and marketing :-(!!! Camera poor, battery life poor, overall a budget phone, the g3 was a top end phone with a budget price tag, miss it already, and of course this isn't a Moto, it's a lenova!!! Oh yes, the g3 is also WATERPROOF, camera was sooooooo much quicker and better and battery life was outstanding, as good as my old Sony z3 and so much more better built!! Don't be fooled by the hype, the g3 is just better and now even cheaper, no brainier!!!
Just picked one up a G4 from John Lewis. Not played with it yet, but v impressed by the built quality and feel in the hand. This does not feel like a budget phone in any way, compared to say a Smart Ultra 6 which definitely does. Not sure there's any 'hype' about this phone, it's just a lot of bang for your buck and gets consistently excellent reviews across the board.

This is from Expert Reviews:

So where does that leave last year's 3rd Gen model? Well, while the Moto G4 is a significant step up from the 3rd Gen Moto G in almost every way - including speed, battery life, camera and general screen quality - it is also considerably larger, as its screen measures 5.5in rather than 5in like its 3rd Gen sibling. Not everyone wants or might be happy with such a big phone in their pocket, so the 3rd Gen model is still worth considering if you're after something a bit more compact.

Good price. Recently got the Magia coffee machine with a milk frother and have been enjoying cappuccinos in the morning. These pods work out considerably less than Illy and Nespresso ones so no need to look for cheap compatibles.

Might be just my pin head but I couldn't get these to stay on my ears. I just can't get on with on-ears full stop. Find them uncomfortable and the headphones move around too easily. In-ears and over-ears for me.
I paid £169 for mine (in black) a couple of Christmases ago, so this is a great price! Nice piece of kit, and still going strong. Only criticism I would have is that the volume doesn't seem particularly high, even at maximum, but this may be due to the fact that they are on-ear, rather than in-ear.

How are sports on this?
Does it get BT Sports, Sky Sports 1-F1
And are they in HD?
Does it show full match/race without cutting out?

It's Amazon content on the stick or you use other apps to access say Netflix or install Kodi.
Excuse my ignorance but a friend has a Chromecast and can watch movies through an app (Allcast) from Tablet to TV.
Is Amazon Fire Stick similar to Chromecast (and Roku) in that you can send movies through an app to your TV?
Otherwise my Smart TV seems to be similar to Amazon fire Stick?
Thanx.

I was just trying to compare this deal, with previous deals.

This deal you spend £115 and get the pixie, aeroccino and £45 worth of capsules.

The previous deal was £90 for an Inissia machine, aeroccino and £60 worth of vouchers.

So spend £25 more and get £15 less in capsules.
Arguably the pixie is a more expensive machine but I'm not sure what it does that's different to the others.

I realise if you don't live near a shop you have to pay postage - I don't live in London but go to Birmingham/Manchester/London often enough to use the vouchers without having to pay for postage.
paulj48

It's a different offer from before. Have to buy 150 capsules for approx £45. So machine £70 + £45 is £115.
Depending on what machine you want, I think you can get the Inissia for £90 with the aerocino. And if you wait for the other promotion you used to get £60 of vouchers to spend on capsules.
That offer is no longer on, the current offer is a free gift when you buy 150 or 250 pods directly through the Nespresso club. Also the £60 off pods was 4 x £15 on separate orders not £60 off 1 order.
3x£20 actually but point well made
All details are on the Nespresso site and you can order at £69 direct from them.
Nespresso also say there is a code in the retail Pixie box if you buy outside of Nespresso....so let's hope they're not selling old stock.

Thanks. Ordered. Have found this phone fine, and the waterproofness is the thing... thanks for the update re Marshmalow, had already avoided on my other one, but good to know...
Nearly new, perfect condition from O2 for £69.99,had mine a week and is truly just like new, no scratches etc. Easy to unlock also!
OK I bought two of these from Vodafone for 79 each. They are fine until you upgrade android marshmallow.

Although the upgrade is available it slows the phone down to a crawl... Due to available ram (I think the ram is 1gb on this model). If you're fine sticking on the shipping version it should be fine as long as you don't want loads of apps.
8 GB in this age it's totally No go.

Anyone found a decent deal on the Pencil? I'm looking at JL at the mo due to the 2yr warranty
The iPad Pro is what the iPad should have always been. This is an okay price, heat from me.

“I think if you’re looking at a PC, why would you buy a PC anymore? No really, why would you buy one?”

It is NOT a PC/Mac. It's an iPad that's faster, sounds better, and has the functionality to use the really good "pencil".

That in itself will warrant a higher price tag.

I personally would get a Surface Pro 4 though at anything over £500.
It's a good price undoubtedly but who else is fed up of Apple's 'planned obsolescence' dressed up with marketing (e.g. bricking perfectly good ipad 2/3/4/Airs with rubbish iOS updates that add nothing other than slow things down to the point of frustration with no way to revert)? I use an iPad regularly but I can't be the only one who is sick of spending a fortune on Apple products to be dictated to what I can and can't run - and there are good and cheaper alternatives out there, for example Sony Z3 Tablet Compact, Z4, Samsung Tab S2.
Can you get Showbox on these?, If so, link much appreciated...
The thing with iPads is yes they are expensive but I have had my air for 3 years now and it still runs great and gets constant updates. Also if I sold it I can get half of what I paid back even though it's three year old tech. Try doing that with an android tablet you get peanuts in resale.

Thanks OP. If you like any sort of sewing hobby, this brand of thread is by far the best.
Fine for teaching the kids to sew but for quality you need DMC or Madeira silks. Better quality and better colours. But not 10p of course!
Please do, that would really be nice, that practice is been forgotten by the most, especially ladies. It is me now at home that is got that job, including mending socks. My wife is also very demanding

john lewis logoJohn Lewis – In Business for More Than Two Centuries

John Lewis opened his first store, a drapery, on Oxford Street in 1864. In 1905, a second store, Peter Jones, opened in Sloane Square in London. Initially the two stores were separate but, in 1920, John Spendan Lewis came up with the idea of forming a chain and he founded the John Lewis Partnership. The company began opening other stores throughout London before starting its expansion across the rest of the UK in 1933.

Today John Lewis operates more than 40 John Lewis stores across the UK, with the largest store being its flagship Oxford Street store. Their stores encompass a mixture of traditional John Lewis department stores and John Lewis at home stores.
