I purchased this phone from John Lewis a couple of weeks ago as a temporary phone whilst I save up for a better phone. I am close to just giving up on it. It was fine at first until I installed apps. I don't use Facebook etc but I use a couple of apps. A lot of them won't go onto your SD card so I cannot install some as have reached the limit. It is also painfully slow now. The screen is under sensitive an I much preferred my HTC one m8 until it fell over. However that is a lot more money .

If you are going to get this phone go for more than 8gb. It's just not enough. Unfortunately John Lewis don't do the 16gb version of this one.

Plus 20% VAT £8.00 Post Office admin charge
Zero duty as under £134.00
So £93 =
£111.60 plus £8.00 post office
....
£110.00=
£132.00 plus £8.00 post office

yes, never have to pay this from ali etc but over £15.00 never the less.
Cheapest I've seen this was £89 including a top-up, or most recently £79 at Motorola but NEVER £59

Where is the warranty/guarantee
And not forgetting 20 to 40 day delivery wait time

If it breaks down, send it back. It's not going to break down anyway within a reasonable period of time as they're good quality devices. Xiaomi is a well regarded manufacturer in China - not one of those generic phone companies. And even if it does eventually break down, the risk/reward of a 3gb/32gb gives a better return than a rip off £99 1gb/8gb phone which is just overpriced obsolescence.

I also got mine <20 days. HK Goldway are a reliable seller.

they declined my price offer request because it went out of stock when they checked it so pathetic, so I'm going to return it such a hassle but sod them
Put in a price match request and they accepted, worth trying if anyone wants it from John Lewis for the 2yr warranty
In there description of model it says 1TB but header and HD says 500gb.
And word of warning you cant plug kinect into these consoles without a new connector.
For users new to Xbox One S
For users upgrading from original Xbox One to Xbox One S

For a limited time, the Kinect Adapter will be available for free to customers who have an existing Xbox One console, an Xbox One Kinect Sensor, and an Xbox One S console. You will need the serial number for all three devices to get the free Xbox Kinect Adapter. To request your free Kinect Adapter, contact Xbox Support.

To save time, we recommend that you make sure your Xbox One S console, original Xbox One console, and Xbox One Kinect Sensor are registered to your Microsoft account. Go to Device Support to register your devices.

Over 10% more expensive for an extra year's warranty is not a better deal than Tesco (assuming stock). Do some simple maths, what do you think the failure rate of an Xbox One S within two years is?

What ask an unanswerable question? The S variant had only been out a couple of months.

It's not an unanswerable question, it's a question that you answer with a reasonable estimation. This is an improved model of a very reliable product.

A guy at work has the same watch and it seemed plenty fast enough to me. He certainly said os3 had improved it no end.
For the money I doubt you could getter a better smartwatch, with the features and support it has.

You're right. I got this Watch last week and am very impressed. I really can't see any need for the new processor. Very fast and smooth.

By all the negatives I've read about speed and battery, I thought this watch was going to be horrible. I bought it used (fresh) and os3 has just dropped and very surprised by how good this watch is. Personally I think it's fast enough (coming from a a Sony sw3) and more importantly I can dress it up or down.

Most people will by an iPhone 7 and do exactly the same things in the same amount of time as with an iPhone 5s. That's the way to look at things these days. The latest and greatest might look flashy and allow you to jump in water but is it worth the extra cost? I'm voting hot

When people talk about things being cheaper on eBay are they being serious? I wouldn't buy a phone on eBay...never. Not unless it was from an outlet of Argos or similar. Certainly wouldn't compare a phone being sold on eBay by (potentially) some idiot who stops paying their bill 6 months after they took it out with a phone from John Lewis with a two year warranty. In case anyone wasn't aware, PayPal covers you for 6 months. People don't tend to stop paying for their contract earlier than this, so if it happens you're stuffed. Personally I'd pay double for a new product with 2 years warranty from a reputable supplier.

This isn't a deal. These are the same prices as getting it directly from Apple.
no its not i just checked

You didn't check very good:

http://www.apple.com/uk/shop/buy-iphone/iphone6s/4.7-inch-display-128gb-gold#00,11,21

£599 for 128GB iPhone 6S directly from Apple = same price as this 'deal'.
Hope someone can help with the following questions please:

1.?Any difference between a 6 and 6s?
2. Is it worth spending the extra on a 6s?
3. If you storing lots of music on the phone a 64gb should be better than an 16gb constantly linked to music saved on iCloud?

Thanks all

there is something called product design. and that's where Apple beats every single competitor.
If you have ever thought about the Dell copycat XPS, or the ASUS ones, you would be amazed how ugly they are, if put next to a macbook.
I've used a MacBook Air 13 and a recent XPS 13 and the XPS has a more premium build quality with much better components as well especially the screen.
I liked the Air, a good basic design but old specs, but the O/S is not for me.
They are both good but different and neither are inexpensive.
an XPS 13 is more comparable to a Macbook Pro Retina to be honest...base XPS13 is almost double the price of this Macbook air..

It is double the price... but with double the RAM, double the SSD size, a 6th gen processor instead of a 5th gen, an i7 instead of an i5 and 1920x1080 resolution instead of 1440x900.

I think the OP is a good deal and voted hot, but the XPS13 is in another league in terms of price an spec.
Livid, John Lewis May or May not have lost my order during Transit for Click & Collect to my local store... They have to Investigate as It'll be the 3rd Day tomorrow as It was Expected to be Picked up by Friday at 2pm. No one contacted me about it so I'm not happy with the poor service. Rang up demanded to speak to a manager after being told "We'll look into it" So basically the Deliver Driver has either stolen it or John Lewis Staff have decided to take It for themselves on to of their discount. I said I wasn't happy with a Refund & I want a MacBook Air or equivalent MacBook as they can't replace it as It's Out Of Stock obviously. Hmmm.

Still overpriced, like all Apple products.
Do remember why Apple are sitting on cash pile of $216bn and struggling to think what to do with it...
They could have a stab at paying some tax.
They do pay some tax. They will contribute to the UK economy significantly more than you or anyone in your family combined over their lifetime do.

I should effing well think so too!
Is that sposed to be some sort of endorsement?:|

Hot for the price/form factor, perfect for email/web/video chat. However please do keep mind that we have had plenty of 15" HP/Toshiba laptops with Intel i3 processors for under £250 before. Unless you want an all-in-one desktop with a big 19.5"/1080p screen those laptops would definitely be much better value for money.

Is it touchscreen?

no
Is it touchscreen?
It's alright for what it is, but it's a basic laptop CPU stuck in a All in One case. These chips are one step up from the Intel Atom Line. It's fine for browsing, watching youtube/netflix, Windows store games, casual and indie games on steam or old games on Gog or Steam. Minecraft will work ok with the optfine plugin for the Java version and the Windows 10 version will work with no issues. Even Microsoft Office will run with no issues but Boot times will stink due to the 5400RPM HDD though, you can replace that with SSD internally if your up for a bit of tinkering or boot ofd a USB 3 external one in a enclosure.

It is £230 for a brand new PC with a 1080p screen. I didn't say it was ideal for rocket science!

Thats the lowest CPU score I have ever seen, better of trading the screen for a better CPU,even basic web browsing will be fairly slow...

Just my 2 pence worth after using a laptop with a CPU score of 1100... :)

3 wires, 2 holes, POWER OFF FIRST and CHECK AGAIN that it's OFF by removing fuse maybe !!!???
If you fix these yourselves, you would be advised to find out which fuse box switch relates to the lighting circuit you are about to play with and then switch the circuit off at the fuse box.

Sorry I disagree, its still not a deal as far as I'm concerned. No one has said its available cheaper elsewhere. Even if its the same price elsewhere and the value added from the retailer being John Lewis does not make it deal either. Following that logic we should all be posting John Lewis deals for TVs that are the same price elsewhere.

If you don't think it's a deal... that's great! If I was you, I would ignore this thread and don't vote then, haha

So every cheap TV I see on here is always met with "it's not true HDR", "It's not real 4k". So question is what TV in the £500-600 does have real HDR and proper 4k? Does such a thing even a exist? I just want a bloody 4k hdr tv for my PS 4 Pro.

good luck finding one between £500-600 with real 4K & HDR.

Yeah I'm sure John Lewis are more aware about the specs of Intel processors than Intel. X)

Yes it is quad core as it states in the advertisement otherwise it's false advertisement a breech of consumer law if sold as such.I doubt John Lewis will make such a mistake.
Yeah I'm sure John Lewis are more aware about the specs of Intel processors than Intel. X)
Stop fishing for fuel to argue with you look really silly, after all where did I state Intel know less about specs of their own processors that' right I remember now I didn't say that lol Pondlife.Just emailed john lewis any way to get verification, there is a pentium quad core version of the 3050 micro desktop,is celeron j1800 supposed to say the pentium processor model name in the ad I don't know? Unlikely but unknown here until they respond.Either way it'stating quad core in that ad.

WIZARDZSYS, the only one in this thread in the wrong is you, stop blaming others please

Accidental and disappointing maybe, but a mistake it is when referencing the J1800 as a quad core as it is actually a dual core. It was debated to death over a year ago when it was being shifted at £99.99 http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/dell-inspiron-micro-desktop-brand-new-intel-j1800-ssd-win-8-1-incl-del-vat-99-dell-2278770?p=25941353

It was actually a better Deal wayyyyyy back then!!.

Then the same Product more than 1+ years later ends up being sold again for NOT less, but rather for 50% MORE instead? (talk about flogging a dead horse ... )

You win some/lose some, huh?, lol.

I'd rather get a windows tablet for this type of money..
I'd only say get this, either because you can't use android or windows or you desperately need to use a particular app. otherwise - WHY...
There is only a small volume of decent touch focused software for Windows which is why iOS still leads significantly in turns of apps even though it's a more limited O/S.
Ultimately an O/S with limited apps is a risky purchase unless you have limited requirements and can live with the scarcity of apps. The same is true of WP10, the O/S seems to be shaping up but the app shortfall is just too restrictive for many.

in terms of touch apps, you are quite right but when you are spending £600 on tablet you would idealy want to play with a full os with proper programs.. not dinky toys

Sad to see this offer being down voted just because it is an apple product. As a price for this product it is great, but the 3yr JL warranty makes it even sweeter.
The whole point of this site is to alert users to whatever product they are after at the best possible price. The OP did just that for me and I am very happy with my purchase.
I considered a Surface, but didn't want a disguised laptop running windows, I wanted the apple apps. The fact that the iPhone 7 has a faster processor is irrelevant, I don't need a phone right now and watching TV in bed on a phone is not the same experience.
To everyone who voted this down based on any reason except the price of this product at JL compared to any other store in the UK your contribution was not required.
So your contribution is to criticise other people's contribution. Nice!
Sometimes on this site, people offer their views on alternative, more suitable products. I for one, sometimes appreciate those opinions.
It's great that you've saved some money on buying an iPad that you wanted. That's the main reason HUKD exists. Just don't take it personally If people don't agree with your sense of value on a particular product.

The reality is you need luck to get hot Apple deals android fans vote them down. Doesn't help the site encourages Apple android divide as in the mods hit post this week.

The site works on is it a deal can you get it cheaper else where no then it's a hot deal no then vote cold. Stupidly voting cold like this only harms the site as we saw fir so long no deals for certain products posted for a long time. Many have tried in the feedback section to find ways of stopping this but as I said with mods encouraging it's not going to happen.

john lewis logoJohn Lewis – In Business for More Than Two Centuries

John Lewis opened his first store, a drapery, on Oxford Street in 1864. In 1905, a second store, Peter Jones, opened in Sloane Square in London. Initially the two stores were separate but, in 1920, John Spendan Lewis came up with the idea of forming a chain and he founded the John Lewis Partnership. The company began opening other stores throughout London before starting its expansion across the rest of the UK in 1933.

Today John Lewis operates more than 40 John Lewis stores across the UK, with the largest store being its flagship Oxford Street store. Their stores encompass a mixture of traditional John Lewis department stores and John Lewis at home stores.
