Worth spending a bit more and getting either the 700d or better still 750d. Although it's a pretty good deal for the twin lens. I got a 750d with 18-55 with bag for 369 after cashback from canon earlier this year. Don't really use the 18-55 much. Tend to use my 24-70 for most stuff.

Canon 700D is same 'bad' :) I like the size about 100D but price with better lenses is too high for me.

Voted cold because of the inconvenience of having to change lenses just to go from 18mm to 300mm. What if you were doing a professional shoot? Canon really need to up their game.
I'm no pro but to cover 18-300 properly you'd have a 16-35, 24-70, 70-200 and either 300mm or 1.4x teleconvertor.
This deal is a great kit to whet someone appetite. Then they can invest in better glass later if they want to.

Umm isn't HDR new for 2016 TVs?? As it looks like this is a 2015 TV based on JL reviews.
Digged a bit on the HDR and found this in avforums which is a bit of a let down if you were keen on HDR10.

Although the JU7500 doesn't support high dynamic range (HDR) it does include Peak Illuminator for improving the dynamic range.

I have been looking at this TV for the last couple of weeks. From the reviews on John Lewis it sounds like there is an upgrade that enables hdr. It's also currently £749 at ask direct or £759 at Crampton and Moore

No. Some 2015 TV's have the specs required to deliver HDR. Admittedly, some in a limited fashion.

Why cold, good specs
Not really. Dual core CPU, 8GB ram only costs £25, 1TB HDD is only £40, no SSD, no dedicated GPU.
Nothing special at all. Not for £500.
Doesn't this have a dedicated gpu? The specs say "AMD Radeon R7 M360 2GB"

It does have a graphics card but to be honest it's not worth that much because it simply can't push the pixels in most modern games even just at HD ready (720) resolutions.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-R7-M360.142637.0.html

For £500 I think it's possible to do a little better in terms of overall spec.

Anybody else having the problem with the sound stopping on certain Freeview HD channels (BBC1HD, BBC2HD, ITVHD and Channel 4HD?
Only affecting Samsung and Toshiba (I think) and only started happening fairly recently, you have to switch over and back again to bring the sound back which is quite annoying.http://www.a516digital.com/2016/03/the-mysterious-sound-problem-silencing.html
Sansung are aware of the problem, I know they have released some updated firmware on older set's (25th April)l
I think they are using them as a test as it does state it's not 'mainstream'
Just keep checking for updates or set auto-update to on.
Cheers Rodderz, I have the latest update on my Samsung TV but it's still happening.

This cost about the same on the continent without being on any kind of reduction, not sure what the fuss was about, people care for warranty this much?http://www.ceneo.pl/37381336
1279 Polish Zloty equals
229.32 British Pound
Depends how much you factor in 4 years outside the usual 12 months warranty so if it's 229 zlotzies plus another 75 zlotzies for additional warranty then not very good deal in comparison is it.
I had a less than 3 year old LG repaired recently on the cheap for £60!hanks to Teletronic Newcastle Under Lyme. Maybe this could be why?
But that's my point oO
I know mate, sorry. Meant to tag in the Polish geezer. These new teles are costly when they go wrong. I researched my fault and there were numerous folk all kicking up a fuss. Some less than 12 months old. It was actually 'Teletronix' repaired my TV. Round here i was quoted £120 in Cheshire, so decided a 13 mile jaunt to the Potteries area was worth a stab.
Polish geezer here :D I do understand everyones points on this topic, we are actually looking for a tv at the moment, but I did not find this deal something with a wow factor. I do understand people value different aspects of their purchases and factored risks. I must also say that during the 6 years I own the quoted samsung tv I have cleaned the inside with an air compressor after possibly the 4th year mark for preventive maintenance.
English geezer here :D sounds like good advise had mine about four years now

I've only ever used 1 HDMI... as you say, the AV has more than enough

I'd have expected folk dropping so much on a TV would all have a seperate sound system, I've had surround sound since around 1993 and couldn't live without it!
FireBIade200
Surely 3 HDMI's is more than enough, most people will input into their AV reciever that has say 8 ports and pass through to a single HDMI on the TV..

Shouldn't have to buy a soundbar on a 2 grand TV.
So a television, made for viewing, not listening, should have good sound quality? We were just spoilt with the ability to fit bigger and better speakers in the old CRT days... The quality of speakers is limited by physical dimensions - TVs these days are very thin. When flatscreen TVs first came out, some didn't even have speakers!!
Don't know what world you live on but a monitor is made for viewing only. A TV is for displaying pictures AND sound.
If you have been hoodwinked into buying a superthin TV which has no audiovisual benefit over a wider set with proper speakers and potentially also subwoofer built in then more fool on you, suppose your last set was edge lit.
Would have thought that you would have noticed recent sets getting wider to accomodate proper speakers or newer sets being bundled with integrated soundbars.
I've over 4 grand of AVR and 7.1 speaker looking at me now but am not going to turn them on for the wife to watch Corrie...but if you spend 2k on a TV with cack sound and puny 10 watt speakers then good for you. My missus is happy enough with her 40 watts of TV speaker on from a TV which is half this price to watch her soaps.
I'd prefer TVs didn't have speakers at all, tweeted this to LG and they said they would pass comment on to design team... fingers crossed :)
I'd tend to agree that it's pointless to fit speakers that are so cheap that everything sounds flat or tinny, especially to supposed high end TV's as you just turn them off. But there are plenty of makers that can do TV sound right ( although they tend not to be ultra-thin). Running out and buying a soundbar seems to reward the makers shortcomings.

Good budget speakers but the PSU is terrible on these. Prone to ground loops and buzzes/hums and low volume when plugged in. Found this when running headphones off the main speaker, also caused issues with my USB turtle beach optical headphones adapter unit I switched off the speakers.
MeneerSmith
Got these for £50 and they were well worth it.
Teasy
Great sound in full 5.1 mode using a 5.1 source. Problem I found was when the source is 2.1 (like youtube for instance) the rear speakers just give you a weak echoed version of the audio track. Can be fixed if you just connect in stereo mode, but a bit awkward to keep changing connections. Also I found I'd sometimes get a annoying humming from some speakers (then again I was using extension cables so that was likely the cause). Ended up replacing them with some Philips Firestorm (CSS5235Y/12) Wireless 5.1 speakers, absolutely love them. Though they are a lot more expensive. So as long as you don't mind wires or changing connectors (or just don't care about 5.1) they're a surprisingly brilliant sound for the price.

All good sold in the EU come with a 2 year guarantee....
It's not a guarantee, it's an EU directive that states the retailer is responsible for faulty goods for 2 years. That doesn't mean they have to fully refund you. They are only obliged to repair, partially refund or replace. Our own Sale of Goods Act, replaced by Consumer Rights Act 2015 already gave the UK better rights in that the retailer is responsible for 6 years (5 in Scotland) and so replaces the EU directive.

All good sold in the EU come with a 2 year guarantee. I returned a faulty iPad to the Apple store around the 15th month and was told the Apple warranty was one year. When I mentioned that it has to be two years by EU law they just offered a replacement or gift card to the original value. I took the gift card as there was a newer iPad coming out soon. A week later I used the gift card to buy an iPad air which has worked fine.

As far as my research goes it's the entry range 2016 model. I have read that all Hisense 2016 models have HDR. This model was listed on richer sounds website about 10 days ago. I am in 2 minds... Might wait for the next model to be released, I reckon mid June.
Cheers for the info. I didnt realise the models was listed at richer sounds. A quick google search only bought up a few french websites.
Tempted to hold out a month or so aswell as the euros are around the corner, so im guessing a lot of tv promotions will be about (first week while england are still in it ha)

Confirmed on Twitter there is a new model being released early June. That's the one I'm going for.

Heated. I ordered this a few days ago so will be good to hear some discussion on this TV. Is there anyone using this for PC gaming that can comment on input lag or lip sync issues? Will post my impressions when it arrives.
I had the 50" version at Christmas but it suffered from mouse lag while using it which i found a pain as you could see it on windows desktop as well as playing games like GTA 5 in 4K although the picture looked great.
Another problem i found using it as a monitor was a lot of the screen settings become deactivated if your using a PC with the TV so your more limited to what you can fiddle with to improve the picture.
It also had noticeable motion judder with people/objects moving/walking at medium speed or above across the screen while watching films as well as uneven edge lighting down the sides.
Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. In 2 minds if I should cancel now because that is exactly what I will be using it for as a 2nd large 4k screen for GTA V etc from my gaming rig.

I ended up buying a Sony KD-49X8005C £490 deal price( low range) and a Panasonic VIERA TX-50CX700B £500 refurb (mid range) and ended up sending the Sony back as the Panasonic outclassed both the Hisense and Sony.

You can pick up a new Panasonic for £570 with slightly damaged box from- http://www.krishav.co.uk/shopping-cart

They also sell it on ebay for £530- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Panasonic-Viera-TX-50CX700B-50-3D-2160p-UHD-UHD-LED-LCD-Internet-TV-/182080142687?hash=item2a64d27d5f:g:gDoAAOSwG-1WtzbR

In 2 minds if I should cancel now because that is exactly what I will be using it for as a 2nd large 4k screen for GTA V etc from my gaming rig.

does anyone know anything about this hisense model http://www.argos.co.uk/m/static/Product/partNumber/5323823/searchTerm/hisense.htm newly listed on argos.
55' £549
43' £299
newer model?

As far as my research goes it's the entry range 2016 model. I have read that all Hisense 2016 models have HDR. This model was listed on richer sounds website about 10 days ago. I am in 2 minds... Might wait for the next model to be released, I reckon mid June.

Cheers for the info. I didnt realise the models was listed at richer sounds. A quick google search only bought up a few french websites.
Tempted to hold out a month or so aswell as the euros are around the corner, so im guessing a lot of tv promotions will be about (first week while england are still in it ha)

Good price but which guide gives it 54%, it says mixed results - great at washing synthetics with low running costs however the spin is pretty poor.

Same here. This is our second Zanussi we've had for several years now.
I'm on my 3rd Zanussi, had this one 7 years problem free...until today, the heating element has gone. But I wouldn't hesitate to buy Zanussi again.

Slightly off topic, why are washing machine measured by kg load?

Would make more sense if by volume?

I bought those folding crates that's 32L use them as laundry baskets, which coincidently loads my washing machine perfectly, don't have a clue if it weights 8 or 9kg.

Because it's too much weight that breaks them, not too much volume.

32L of some materials will be fine, 32L of bricks won't be.

[quote=Mex5150] Rooted, connect to my wireless network, but I could not download the kindle app, just would not connect.
I'm assuming you also installed gaps when you routed, so the only other difference could be Amazon increased the minimum Android build with the latest version of the Kindle app (although I have it installed, I never use it, I strip the DRM nonsense and use a different reader), if this is the case, side-loading an older version will not help as Amazon have recently changed the encryption on their DRM, so older versions of the app wouldn't be able to read anything DRM'd not already stored locally from before the change.
So tried to down load new Kindle books I had bought on my laptop, to the wifes Nook. They showed on the Nook but hit download and it started for a second then said download interupted.
This would seem to verify that the Amazon DRM update is indeed the cause of the issue.
So I just thought as I can down load with no problems onto both Kindles, it must be down to Barnes Noble withdrawing support.
The Nook never had support for kindle, you had to kludge it yourself after rooting.
Got to admit the Kindle App on the Nook ,very dark to see libary unless back light on but reads books fine.
That's because the app was not designed to be used on an E-Ink device.

I had forgotten about the DRM change, this does make it a little trickier. Your options to continue using the Nooks are to sideload an old kindle apk to the one you just rooted, and stuck to books from Amazon that that aren't DRM encrypted, or get whatever you like, strip the DRM yourself, then use a better reader app anyway.

HTH

If they are rooted, why are you even slightly bothered about daft decisions by B&N? I have a rooted Glowlight and it works as well now as it did the day I got it, I can pull whatever I want from the internet to read, what exactly is the problem you are having?

Well my Nook just stopped working whilst in Tenerife last December, just went blank screen , so I just hit reboot and it reset to factory default.Wifes was still working fine. Anyway only use them when on holiday, going to Maderia next week so thought I better re root my Nook. with Root Manager

Rooted, connect to my wireless network, but I could not download the kindle app, just would not connect. So tried to down load new Kindle books I had bought on my laptop, to the wifes Nook. They showed on the Nook but hit download and it started for a second then said download interupted. So I just thought as I can down load with no problems onto both Kindles, it must be down to Barnes Noble withdrawing support. But as yours are working fine that cannot be the case.

Got to admit the Kindle App on the Nook ,very dark to see libary unless back light on but reads books fine. That said I prefered the more egnomic design, and weighted balance for a more comfortable hand hold. Plus page click buttons [reading BN offerings. Plus you can disconnect WiFi, and also switch the machine Off, rather than just going to blank screen with the Kindles , hence battery can last for months on a NOOK

Any pointers appreciated Mex5150

I bought them because my two "rooted" Nook Glow Lights e-readers stop downloading books because Barnes Noble withdrew support for the E-readers in UK .......Anybody know of a "workaround" for that problem ....woud like to pass em on to extended family members in working condition.
