all on one world partners, good price and a chance to build up some avios miles :)
None of it is operated by British Airways... it is Aer Lingus & American Airlines except the LHR-MAN route. Good find though

Great deal. Is it possible to clear US immigration in Dublin?
I'm thinking probably not if doubling back to Heathrow?
You won't clear US immigration in Dublin, as it is only for direct flight from Ireland to US.

Good luck finding a direct flight to Doha under £400...

Not that hard: Kayak
- BA Direct: £356 @Omega via Kayak (must admit, I wouldn't trust Omega though)
- Pegasus (One stop) £202 @ Opodo via Kayak

Why don't you trust Omega? I've booked flights with them before and not had any problems
I do travel to Doha quite frequently because my girlfriend lives there so I know that flights from the UK to Qatar are not cheap. You could get cheaper flights with Oman Air or Gulf Air but you need to change at least once. And Pegasus have a worse reputation than Ryanair and they're often late or their flights get cancelled so I'd not use them.
I get it that it's a good price for a business class flight and you can collect a huge amount of Avios and tier points but you still need to get to Doha somehow.

Maybe we could start posting deals on flights from Dallas to Johannesburg or Vladivostok to Shangai.

Gotogate has pretty poor reputation if you Google reviews....anyone have experience...basically when looking at Kayak I always ignore them for that reason
You can book directly with Westjet for a few quid more pp.
I used them last year for flights to Italy. Then I saw the reviews! I have to say I was thinking the worst but all the flights went without a hitch. Gotogate text me gate changes etc, unfortunately sometimes I didnt get them till later due to poor connection in airports but you check the screens anyway so no probs. I wouldnt hesitate using them again.

The original deal's gone now but there are still some good prices around the same time. Look into going Dublin out and flying back to Gatwick. Those prices are still near the £200 mark and you don't have to sort a flight back from Dublin if you're in Britain.

Not voting either way as it's always this price. A deal is what I paid for three tickets (two adults and a child) to Dubai during the Feb half term-£480 on Pegasus Air from London Stansted with a very short layover in Istanbul.

Those looking at doing Dubai at a more pleasant (weatherwise) time of the year or the Easter break perhaps, I would recommend keeping an eye out for cheap fares on Skyscanner or Mormondo rather than booking this non deal..

very nice, I've stayed at the encore, beautiful rooms and a very nice casino. Don't forget to go to the buffet at the Wynn, absolutely incredible. I'd recommend seeing la reve as well, fantastic cirque style show.
The Wynn/Encore is very nice. Quite often deals to be had for staying there too. It's totally worth it to get the full Vegas experience..

just be careful when booking your hotel as most the hotels on the strip charge a resort fee per night of your stay and it can add up. think the mgm group are quite up in the price range so do ask or read the print before you book a hotel on strip. 20+ dollars per night resort fee is what they charge on strip

as soon as you check in anywhere, go and speak to a casino host - before you spend a penny in a casino(including bars/shows/restaraunts etc) - its easily done and not as scary as youd think,

im not even a big spender but haven't paid for rooms/resort fees for a few years now.-

I've been to Tokes 18 bloody times, (the handbrake is Japanese), in fact she's over again at the end of May.

Best price I've paid was £140 return, direct flights - that was in the days of the ba courier flights
Next best £180 on a BA strike
Next best £200 in a daily mail special offer

The Mrs just paid £750, for the upcoming trip, but last trip flew for £300 (from Amsterdam) on Xiamen Air (stopover in Xiamen, China) - upwards of 25 hours....

Saves £, kills a few days though..

If this is with Xiamen, apparently the food is quite good.. I'd rather get there quicker I think..

But a good deal OP.
its a much better idea to encorporate the stop onto your holiday if you want to do it cheap. Schedule a layover in bangkok, beijing, mumbai etc. and maybe a different place on the way back... or find a job where you can take lots of holiday :D

I'm not surprised if you want to spend 20 hours or more and stopping twice! If you're prepared to waste two days or more of your holiday flying.. I don't fly from Manchester, always from London, so I don't know the normal flying time. It's about 12-14 hours from London. Prices do seem to have gone down for some airlines from London, I've just paid £450 for a one stop return to Tokyo.
What use is it to tell us what it cost you to go from another airport 200 miles from Manchester?
It would be quicker to start the journey from Korea too

But If £450 ever becomes equal to £320 and London becomes part of Manchester then please come back and make a valid point.
Until then go back to your warm flat lager

£339 LHR to NRT, but similar stopovers.

i've just checked flying time with one stop from Manchester is about the same as from London. Most if not all the examples you give have a flight time including transfers of 22 hours or more.. You have to pay over £500 for a more normal flight time so effectively you're loosing at least one or two days with the cheapest flights so not a bargain IMO. That's the reason why open jaw tickets are usually not a bargain either

Flew with them last year. Take your own blanket, pillow, etc as you have to buy them on board. If you buy the add on food menu, its not bad but probably better taking your own.

Quite a good flight but the Norwegian staffing at the airports wasn't good. They were totally disorganised.

The long haul flights are also very often delayed or rearranged at short notice. I doubt I'll use them again.

You pay what you get. I wouldn't recommend to fly with them.
I certainly said that after my last trip. The hotdealer in me is trying hard to forget that experience. Probably worth spending the extra for a better service though.
So is it worth the extra £250 to fly with BA
Don't fly BA either absolutely crap both are the same. save the £250 and fly with these.
rubbish
Not Rubbish mate i travel all over and have been for the last 5 years i would say i fly at least 3-5 times a month and from my experience BA are Crap! don't know about anyone else but from personal experience i won't fly them again just check reviews online most people say they are rubbish! (but again depends on what route you fly) and if it has connections ect.
One of my examples with Ba was almost a 3 day delay offered me to fly Malaysian airlines flight which was a much cheaper flight with 2 stops my original flight was direct, they told me they always double book seats so a lot of the time they ask people to wait in a hotel for the next flight.(was told this by there staff) returned to catch my flight they kept my luggage stored asked 3 times is my luggage boarded got told 3 times "Yes its already on the plane,do not worry" arrive at destination NO Luggage. came 2 days later.

A nasty place with medevil laws. Will never visit an Arab state
Having lived their for ten years, felt more safe there than London. Keep your nose clean and you will have no issues.
It depends on where in London since it is huge. There is a difference between safety and freedom. In London you have both. They are absolute savages in the Arab States.
It depends where in UAE since its huge. Both freedom and safety exist is certain parts of the UAE. Dubai is one of those cities. In certain parts of London, people are afraid to leave their houses when it goes dark in fear of being robbed or raped. In this respect both safety and freedom are compromised. Worst airline and service cold
I disagree. Having flown Turkish Airlines multiple times, they have really new planes, great staff on board, the seats are more comfortable, new entertainment systems with loads of movies, and they even serve fresh orange juice in economy class.
I would choose Turkish Airlines any day over Virgin Atlantic or British Airways.

Really, you would? I've travelled BA & Turkish Airlines & I can safely say the gulf in standards was staggering. Also, this is a struggling airline, their standards although good now may start to falter.
p-e-t-e
Can you produce their "operational safety and incident" record?

Go to avherald.com and search for Turkish if you want some light reading.

Just last week an Airbus A330 left the runway at Kathmandu after landing in very marginal fog conditions. Other airlines were diverting to other airports. Turkish held for 2 hours and then landed.

The 737 at Amsterdam a few years back was an avoidable tragedy. With one of the most senior training captains in the airline on the flight deck.

They seem to make a habit of scraping aircraft tails on the runway during take off in recent times. Oh and landing on a taxiway instead of the runway at Bodrum is pretty embarrassing.

Good find.
If planning a trip like this you might be advised to allow a bit of extra time for connections in China - there are a growing number of delays for domestic and regional flights due to air traffic congestion, you can either book to leave yourself enough time, or take a chance with some fun at the transfer counter.

Thats a good point I have had that problem in Dubai before now

However there seem to be later Flights to Hong Kong on the day of arrival in Beijing at 18.30, 19.30 and 20.30

If there is a delay I am sure you will be on one of them

I have been on these flights, Cathay Pacific was excellent, but Dragon air was terrible. Both my dragon air flights were over 2 hours delayed and they lost our luggage.
As an alternative, instead of spending two weeks in Hanoi, split it up with an internal flight to Hue and also take the Scenic coast train down to Danang and Visit Hoi An, Fly out of Danang to Hong Kong. Both the internal flight and train are inexpensive.
what is there to see in Hong Kong? after Tibet I'm working my way there from Beijing in May and I'm wondering if I should go at all with the pollution problem. I'm going to the states when the China visa runs out.

What isn't there to see? Guide book or TripAdvisor app are great.

few days is enough for Hanoi, but you could go out to Ha long Bay for a couple of days then fly down to Hue, some great old emperor tombs, nice beach resorts for a chill out. then take the train from Hue to Danang (very scenic), but get a local or hotel staff to buy your train ticket it will cost only a few pounds, much cheaper than if you buy it as a tourist. Danang is interesting for a day then spend a couple of days at Hoi An, it really lovely. There are many great places in Vietnam, friendly people and the food is superb!

I went to Nz twice last year with emirates and only one leg of the journey wasn't up to their usual standard which was on a 777, probably not down to the plane but there was a lot of turbulence which meant the trolley dolly's were strapped in for longer than usual which resulted in moaning people upsetting their routine and delaying the non-moaning people even more . All the rest were on a380s and were fine. Also if you book Heathrow and its a Qantas flight and you sign up for the frequent flier scheme you can get access to the BA lounge suite for free, much better than sitting in the halls and the Rioja was quite acceptable. Most other airports you need to be silver or gold and they swipe your card but Heathrow is a bit behind the times and only asks for your FF no and boarding pass and they write it in a book. :{
Emirates were awful. Don't expect any empathy from them when you complain about their mediocre service and not even if you complain about being left at the airport when they were supposed to pick you up . If you try to escalate they just ignore you. That was after paying them £10,000 to fly to Oz and back, so I would avoid, avoid, avoid - or take the risk and regret it afterwards as they seem to be going down the pan and relying on an undeserved and old reputation. .

A380 shpot on!!
My aircraft of choice too!

I accidentally picked one of the best economy seats last time I flew with Emirates on the A380. It's the forward most bulkhead seat. The aisle seats on either side have bags of legroom because the bulkhead doesn't actually cover them like it does on the other ones...
The only A380's I have been on have been BA and all their economy seating seems to be comfortable. Combination of good seat design and adequate spacing. Long legs just outstretch under the seat in front of you. I don't know if Airbus fit exactly the same seat design for others airlines.
I've flown DUB->DXB a few times... It's a 777-300ER on that route. They are old planes with lumpy seats and entertainment systems that regularly don't work. The layover for the Sydney flight is about 2 hours.
The DXB->SYD flights are on the A380's and are pretty good. Food on both legs is good.
If you're flying from Dublin, look out for some really great deals with AirFrance /KLM.... I was in Dubai over Christmas for £296 each and was in Singapore in November for £1000 in business class. (Economy was £326). Jo'burg in Feb was £404 for a while but isnow £444, which is still good. It's actually cheaper to fly from Dublin than fly directly from CDG on the same flight.
