Norwegian flights were doing £69 but I think it's now £132 each way direct from Edinburgh and a few other airports all year

What dates? No flights at all between May and October when I checked

Are you sure its direct from Edinburgh? Just because I have never came across direct flights from my way except a handful of Glasgow ones during Summer.

Glad it wasn't just me then!

Hilton Grand Vacations at back of Planet Hollywood and linked via Miracle Mile. Free parking and last time there was no resort fee.

Vegas is great as a base for a road trip. Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Moab for Arches NP and Canyonlands NP, Page for Lake Powell NP, Antelope slot canyons and Big Bend, Zion NP and then back to Vegas for a few nights. Filled with wow factors everyday.

If this is your first time in vegas, don't stay at the Westgate its off the strip and tired (Old Hilton Las Vegas), stay on the strip: Linq, Flamingo, NYNY, treasure island, Monte Carlo are all fairly reasonable and much better located.
And I second getting a Car, Vally of fire, Hover, Red Rock, Mt Charleston, GoodSprings are all worth a visit and under an hour. Day trip to LA can be had for $140 rtn via southwest. NOTE: Both MGM & CET charge $10 a day self-park or $25 valet. Unless you are Pearl (free self park) / Gold (Free valet) not sure CET level on their player scheme.
Also worth noting that 4th of Sept is Labour day in America, so table prices will be high and it'll be fairly busy. But you will get amazing sales in the Mall's and outlets.
only reason why i priced the westgate was because at the time of booking this holiday for myself i got the flights for £569 and the hotel excalibur for £460 for 2 weeks, but when i rechecked it a day later to post on here the offer had gone.
i agree with yuo about the car, ive been 3 times now this will be my 4th time to las vegas, car is necassary in my opinion even if you just get it for a few days and spend those days travelling.

Email the hotel direct, much cheaper and pound/dollar can't get much worse (_;). Monte Carlo is worth checking as its going through a refurb and name change at the moment, heard rooms are cheap. Also ask if they can offer any complimentary breakfast, resort credit or freeplay with the room. ;)

Agree, we are going next month, car booked for 5 days. M resort is worth a visit if you like to gamble, $5 BJ and craps. Dunno how much you gamble, but get urself a mLife card if you staying at a property and scan it for every single thing. Then check before you check out for any comps. They have never comp'd resort fee's but knocked a couple of quid off of our room bill.

It's great fun... very challenging just to stay floating in one spot. Although it's only short flights the experience lasts quite a while with instructions and watching others. Highly recommend.

I'll be looking forward to it. Made me think man of steel can exist. LoL.

I can confirm I've received a £100 no-catches voucher from last minute. They called a couple of days ago, voucher landed in my inbox today. I've used them before, but not enough to be a 'vip'.
I haven't heard back neither. I got my refund from lastminute.com but Qantas are sending me in circles with my seating refund. I have been verbally told and also written confirmation of a refund within 10 days, that has not happened.
Wondering if we'll hear back from them as well, then. Has anyone else been contacted?
Just got a call from the Lastminute "vip team" to apologise for the cancellation and offering a £100 voucher - I hadn't complained or anything, so overall not overly displeased.
Alieus
They made a complete mess of this pretty clueless customer service (Offshore so doubt you will get any UK advisers all CS is pretty much in India) who read off a script so no point in phoning them I wouldn't waste your time or effort doing that, they sent me the cancellation e-mail followed by refund of payment e-mail, then they sent me another one to advise a change in booking pretty much had all flights showing booked again but not on any of the airlines sites, then followed up with another e-mail today apologising again for their complete incompetence as a company regarding the e-mail advising my flights had been booked for a 2nd time but rest assured I will be getting my full refund as flight bookings were cancelled by airline.

I doubt no matter how much complaining anyone attempts to do they wont offer any kind of compensation their own T&Cs advise if they price a flight wrong they will attempt to contact you with the right fare cost via a phone call or issue a refund. I haven't read anyone who has posted to say that Lastminute or Bravofly actually made the effort to lift a handset/headset and placed a phone call to say apologies we cant honour these prices as we were given wrong info, taxes weren't added to flights etc?

I have just booked direct with an airline to save any hassle doubt I would use Lastminute again after this experience, I have benefited from some really cheap flights/hotels from similar sites never used Lastminute before doubt I will ever again.

I tend to agree, it was my first time venturing out of the safe realm of booking direct as I always regretted not pulling the trigger on some of the amazin deals people have had.

we went here about a month ago and it was possibly the worst meal we've ever had. If your using a voucher they make you feel like a peasant. They tell you.. the customer, how your steak will be cooked. I asked for mine well with no pink, they refused to cook it, starter was chicken parfait and they forgot to put the bread on, you will end up spending a further £50+ on top of the voucher because of extras and drinks. Toilets were disgusting too. I complained to the joint owner and he said Marco Pierre White only owns 2 restaurants the rest are franchise. Honestly stay away from the overpriced restaurants by Marco Pierre White. We have a better experience and better quality mean and better service, cleaner, cooler and they get your order right at The Riverside at Weaverham Cheshire 241 too.

Just been looking at this, but saw that the Thames cruise is not included between July-August.

Have however found a 1 hour 30mins Thames cruise, with 3 course lunch on the boat itself https://www.buyagift.co.uk/days-out/thames-lunch-cruise-for-two-br-1183374.aspx £59.50 with the 15% buyagift code.

Other than that cracking deals found

Hi where does it say that the cruise is not available between July and August? I can't see it anywhere?

It is recommended that you book a date at least four to six weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. This is only a guideline and we advise you to book as early as possible to ensure that dates are available before the expiry date listed on your voucher.  All bookings are subject to availability.

Please note: the River Cruise part of this voucher is not valid in July and August.

too hot. too many restrictions. I like to drink when i want to. wear what i want and enjoy my holiday without thinking 'can i do this' all the times. Until these countries are as liberal to the west as we are to them , this is not for me.

Was thinking the same thing, and then I read your post! Couldn't agree more.
Even under the so called rules and restrictions you still have a great time, yes it's a different kind of holiday, if you look in right places you can certainly get more trust me but everything is not about being jacked out of your nut all time.
I for one fancy this place as something different, yes I'm a lads lad boozing every weekend etc etc but when on my jollies I like to chill out, few beers here and there and some good scran.
Their country, their rules. You don't like it, you don't have to go.

You mean like the restrictions they have in France at the moment cos scummy football fans can't control themselves?
Western, Liberal France??
You are right , the scummy football fans cant control themselves, so they do need the police there.
But I'm not talking about an unusual situation where there is known trouble. I'm talking about your average holiday where you go to relax and unwind. Spain or Greece, you aren't comparing like for like. In that situation there are restrictions as to what you can do in Dubai, just depends whether you are happy with them I guess.

Cold. Lastminute. Bunch of illegal scammers operating indian call centres beyond the reach of law. Any problem and you'll spend hours on the phone listening to their complete and utter lies. Their staff clearly get commission/bonus for denying changes, forcing you into thinking you need to buy another when you clearly don't. Most dishonest company i've seen in a long time.
Just don't use them. A deal isn't a deal if they're going out of their way to screw you over.

Last May I booked a hotel in Scarborough for the two of us through lastminute.com. When I mailed the hotel they told me that my booking was for one - shock! I had confirmation from lastminute that it was for 2 people. I cancelled and got a refund which was harder than you imagine, I had to send three emails to lastminute before I received a response saying, yes thay got it wrong but no apology. Imagine my position if I had turned up at the hotel and been asked for another £100 for my partner to stay when I had a print out stating 2 guests. I'm unsure whether I could have claimed it from lastminute using the small claims court.

Gilli islands Indonesia's worst kept secret, remember seeing an old school mate who had become a hippy diving instructor and I asked were he was based , he said I wouldn't of heard of it , but I dug anyway, for ten minutes
I laughed at him when he finally said the gilli's, another of my mates came over and he'd been also, it's a small world
I.m hoping the place is still as great as it was 12 years ago, but places move on and the locals get greedy , are the people on the way out to the island still a bunch of conning hostile idiots

Gili T is, in my opinion, over touristy, party central for backpackers. Gili Air was more laid back, less places to stay, although there was signs for mushrooms (of the magic variety) around. Gili Meno is another option, less places to stay though and a little more expensive.

Those are some of the worst flights I think ive ever seen on here.
This place should just stick to package deals because Ive not seen one person make a good build your own holiday on here yet.
The flight times aren't the best, no, but you either:
1. Pay £150+ for better flight times
2. Get better times and choose a different airline, China Southern may be cheaper but rating is worse and sleep quality, food quality likely to be poor.
3. Look at Etihad/Qatar
4. Look at open jaw options which may be cheaper (but then some people don't like open jaw flights)
At least both flights are with good airlines, both 4/5* Skytrax rating, similar to Qatar, etc... You can also fiddle about with them as you could put in a stop in Istanbul if you wanted...... I posted this as it was a good deal for flights to Bali in peak season, but when I went I went from Dublin with Etihad for around £300. Currently though Dublin is more expensive and then there would be the complaints it was not from the UK. You can't please everyone.

Which is the problem with people posting diy holidays on here, your (collectively) only looking at making it as cheap as possible.

Those flights are utterly horrendous, nobody in their right mind would do that flight and most people looking at holidays would use some common sense and pay the extra for either a better flight or direct. Making it as cheap as possible gets the upvotes here but I bet nobody would ever book it (or 99.99% of the diy holidays on here)

Should be a rule that its just kept to package deals.

We did a DIY holiday to Lombok this year, loved every minute of it, took in Gilli T and if you have the time went to Flores where we did a 3 day boat snorkelling tour to Komodo island and Rinca island, camping on a beach overnight with these guys cant recommend them enough if you're in that part of the world, go soon though as there's talk of making international flights to Flores airport which can only make it busier.

Absolutely, there are plenty of tour operators in Gili for visiting Komodo Island etc...

try a different browser to book sometimes its down to cookies
I've tried to book several of these flights via lastminute.com and the fare always increase at the later stage of the checkout ("we regret to inform you that the fare selected has increased" £80 in my case) - must be some kind of error as more expensive in every other OTA (once lastminute.com adjust its fare it comes very similar to others)

I'm trying BRU-GIG 25/03-07/04 or 23/03-07/04 for example
So not the dates or routing of this deal!! I was able to check out and pay for flights to HK before posting this deal at the price advertised. As a trip try the Spanish or Belgium version of Kayak or similar.
I've tried your exact itinerary now and the price increased to £246 from the initial £197 (same thing across the board of lastminute.com deals...)

Lastminute.com – From Dot-Com to the present day

Lastminute.comLastminute.com a dot-com startup, founded in London in 1998 by Brent Hoberman and Lady Lane-Fox. The founders had been colleagues at a media agency and recognised the opportunity for a travel website that specialised in Last minute holiday deals.

Lastminute.com grew quickly. By January 2000, the website had more than 500,000 regular users, and its offering had expanded to include other travel services, along with gifts, theatre tickets, restaurant deals, and other forms of entertainment.

The company developed a lot of interest from the financial community and in the first few months of 2000, raised a further £13.2 million in funding before the company was listed on the stock exchange in March 2000.

Today, Lastminute.com is one of the UK’s largest travel websites and has made a focus to return to focusing on Last minute deals and special offers. According to the company, they sell a holiday every 15 minutes, a spa break every 3 minutes, and a theatre ticket every 26 seconds.

Lastminute.com’s best deals are published on the website’s homepage as well as in their newsletter.

  1. Throughout the year, the platform will run special offers and flash sales. There are specific sections for the latest hotels and holidays sales. When lastminute.com aren’t running specific promotions, the majority of its hotel deals focus on their secret hotels program.
  2. Secret Hotels program you book a hotel without knowing the name of the hotel. Hotels in this program are normally heavily discounted, and it’s often possible to pick up a bargain for a fraction of the normal price. Customers are given some information about the hotel such as its star rating, TripAdvisor rating, its approximate location, and the services it offers, so even without seeing the hotel name, it’s possible to see whether the hotel is a good match for you.

Top Secret Hotels

They run a Price Match Guarantee program. If you book through Lastminute.com but find a cheaper price elsewhere, the company will match the price. This applies to hotels or City Break/Flight + Hotel.
