    Hardly silly - this model will perform exactly the same the day after the range is refreshed as today. The replacement will be more expensive, until it too is due to be refreshed and then will be available at a good price like this. It would be silly to spend more if this is fit for purpose. After 4 years, both the refreshed model and this one will have next to no second hand value, so even considering resale value means that this is probably the better buy. Unless of course it's not fit for the task, but this is a competent spec so I conclude spending more is probably....silly.

    Nearest comparable spec (except CPU) is Samsung 350V5C-A06 Laptop, Intel Core i7, 2.4GHz, 8GB RAM, 1TB, 15.6”, Silver at JL for same price but with 2 Year warranty.

    Yes. I got an Lenovo Ivy Bridge laptop this time last year for £400 so you should be able to get a Haswell laptop for about the same within a couple month.

    Lenovo haven't released their Haswell range yet but the Z series is due its yearly refresh any time now, it seems silly to buy a machine you know is just about to be replaced IMO.

    Not a great deal - duel core, integrated graphics. rather go for the Samsung deal listed here as well, that has a much faster fast quad core processor, but still no dedicated graphics....
