'It's cooked then'
Maybe not, however there is a great deal of difference required in heat & time amongst the various options on offer, as a fan of low slow Indirect is where it is at.
There are plenty of mongers who manage to ignore basic food hygiene, cooking times & end up sick as dog ..& to me bbq is making your own mop sauces, sides (beyond coleslaw) & store bought pre soaked in crappo marinades & colours & flogged for 3 times the price because of it's "bbq ready" sticker.
At which point bbq does become a bit of a food science, just like a good pizza. prep, execution, delivery.
A simple coals separator can be a real "dawning light" as a result of being given more space to cook with less haste.
The Weber / Napoleon branded baskets usually cost around £20 a pair, so definately hot just for them alone!
