I got 2 and the rib rack today, I wonder how they compare to the Weber set in terms of size. I would day about 10-12 briquettes in each. I have some restaurant grade charcoal but the pieces are massive...probably 1 piece in each or 2 depending, it's just too big for me!

Anyone who chars food to hell shouldn't be using any kind of BBQ, it's not exactly rocket science.

Maybe not, however there is a great deal of difference required in heat & time amongst the various options on offer, as a fan of low slow Indirect is where it is at.
There are plenty of mongers who manage to ignore basic food hygiene, cooking times & end up sick as dog ..& to me bbq is making your own mop sauces, sides (beyond coleslaw) & store bought pre soaked in crappo marinades & colours & flogged for 3 times the price because of it's "bbq ready" sticker.

At which point bbq does become a bit of a food science, just like a good pizza. prep, execution, delivery.

A simple coals separator can be a real "dawning light" as a result of being given more space to cook with less haste.

Yeh looks like the 15th. I've got some separators in my Weber but I prefer the baskets as it will stop the small coals disappearing down the charcoal grate! I don't think the chicken roaster will fit with the chicken sitting up in a standard kettle grill though, I think you'd need a stacker attachment.

The Weber / Napoleon branded baskets usually cost around £20 a pair, so definately hot just for them alone!

Bought two charcoal baskets, look pretty good if quite small. One will do for the 47cm but will use both with the 57cm.

pedant question here, (& depending on what you use briquettes / restaurant grade charcoal / combination thereof) ..what sort of fill do you get out of it would you say ie how many coals?
