Not bad really. Ordered some dress shirts online and a few from ebay. All crap. At least with Moss Bross you know your getting something decent and decent material too, either cotton or high cotton content. Ordered 2 at £12.50 and a dress shirt for £15. Heat from me.
This place constantly has a sale all year round especially on the shirts. At the lowest throughout the year you can pick up 5 dkny or French connections for £100. In store or online.

So it's not that great a deal at moment

There is always someone who has to be negative! Wish these people werent allowed on these sites :(
If your comment is serious I would prefer you to 'leave the site' (not that either should)

Positive / negative has nothing to do with it (in fact the store is clearly profiting from your application of these emotions).

Hot deal or not? that is the (only) question.

What is the shirt/quality/durability? like from Moss as never bought.

I've bought one recently to try as CT has been poor lately, they feel decent! We'll see how they last but I'm optomistic they'll last well. Extra slim fit is a similar cut to the CT ones too.
Very good quality, and the fit is as expected. If you get it half price it's a real bargain. My wardrobe is full but couldn't resist picked up a couple anyway

Moss bros is a rip off. This cannot be washed as it is silk so another negative. Can buy from similar washable tie from primark for £2 or from Sam's 99p for £ 1.
Washable but are they silk? I can tell you any decent suit/tie is not meant to be washed on a regular basis (water/dry clean) because it destroys the material. Look after your equipment and it looks after you.

Nobody is giving you a half decent paying job if you rock up in Primark (or less) garbage.

Yes. The tie in the picture confirms that buying a silk tie guarantees that you'll look smart and thereby walk into any job in high finance.

Coming from a person who working in high finance I can tell you a tie can do wonders with the right outfit.

You're not working in any field requiring clear communication skills or a firm grasp of English it seems though.

If you have too much money to buy single use items made of silk, linen and wool, good for you. But think of the environment. The polyester ties look better than silk and do not get stained if going to party or dinner. Better wear a clean washed tie, than a tie you cannot wash and full of bad smelling bacteria and needs ironing . Just because the price is cheaper does not mean the item is bad quality. Some people have more money than brains and love the emperors new clothes rather than real clothes for real people.
Environment. You know silk is from silk worms cocoons where as polyester is from fossil fuels right?
I have 40 ties, mostly silk and only 2 - 4 of them goes to the dry cleaners once a year due to me inadvertently writing on it with a pen.
You don't iron silk ties. They should be stored in a tie rack or rolled up.
Good luck
That means you are wearing dirty silk tie every day carrying all the bacteria and germs even though it does not look dirty like dirty hands after going to toilet may not not look dirty but full of germs . I have large number of ties as well , few silk but I stopped buying silk ones because silk is so fragile and gets dirty so fast. It's waste of money to dry clean ties as it is cheaper to buy one, than to pay for dry cleaning silk. I love wearing a tie but hate wearing dirty or smelling clothes.

My ties don't smell. Maybe a reason for you to investigate. You sure it isn't a case of "buy it cheap, buy it twice" affair?

Forgot to mention I have many ties from M&S, Burton, next, matalan, H&M, topman apart from Primark. They all sell washable ties. So definitely not cheap but brand does not matter as the brand does not show on a tie.

And that sixth form where you have to wear a suit every day must be pretty exclusive!

Not all all. I am not aware of a single state school where the sixth form boys are not required to wear a suit every day in my area. A suit is the default dress code.

Next and M&S sell machine washable 100% wool suits and wash fine. They also sell polyester suits that are machine washable, unlike Moss Bros - none of their suits are machine washable.

The suits are washed in a special bag and you hang them to dry flat. Full instructions are often provided. If they hang badly, you can get a refund! Poor quality suits may not machine wash well ;)

Depends what you want from a shirt, cheap tat or pay £12.5 and it might be worth wearing after 1 wash

This may happen with Moss Bros. I have never had such an experience with other suppliers. Remember Moss Bros shirts are over-priced as were sold at 50% of their usual ridiculous prices. At the sale price, are they half as good as the full price versions? Moss Bros simply operate on higher margins, which does not equate to better quality. Such claims need actual independent scientific evidence.

In the old days C&A shirts lasted for 5 years. The good old days! A branded bag would last 5 years.
Sadly, the world has changed. Price does not always equate to quality.

Machine washable suits?
Good grief.
Would you dry clean a suit every week for a sixth form child?
Do you expect a secondary school child to wear a dry clean only school uniform?
Calculate the cost.
Many suits have false labels and can be machine washed (even Moss Bros admitted this in store).

The discussion isn't about school uniforms. Have you seen what happens to a suit jacket if you machine wash it...? It hangs with the grace of a potato sack.

And that sixth form where you have to wear a suit every day must be pretty exclusive!

It is for those who want good quality shirts for half their usual selling price.

Do sensible people really every buy at their full prices? If they have regular 50% off sales, they are "fake" usual prices.

Why are they any better quality than M&S where sale prices are often below £10 and even as low as £5?

For a large suit shop, Moss Bros do not even sell machine washable suits! It seems they are out of touch with the real world where people (and sixth form students) cannot justify dry cleaning every week.

Machine washable suits?

Good grief.

Are Moss Suits any good? quality wise/long lasting etc? I've never bought from there.
These are polyester so no, they will not be good quality. You can get polyester suits cheaper elsewhere so cold from me.
Agreed, their suits are horrid and feel even worse
Moss Bro's don't often have sales do they for big people do they?
I've gone through a few ~£250 wool suits and I don't bother any more. Dry cleaning isn't just expensive, it's inconvenient. You only need to get caught in the rain a couple of times in wool and they loose their shape. Artificial fibres aren't anywhere near as bad as they used to be either, 'boil in the bag' isn't true anymore. Most of them you can machine wash, just don't iron directly on the outside surface or they go shiny. Personally I buy a jacket and a couple of pairs of trousers from Next for about £150. They last a couple of years. This deal might be worth a look.

cigbunt
if this is 65% Polyester and 35% Viscose you may as well go adsa, tesco or primark
Sadly, most suits are made of Polyester, Viscose and wool. To make it worse most are DRY Clean only. But I dout you would get the same quality in Tesco, asda of Primark.

Is £15 for a shirt regarded as a good deal? Many M&S shirts were less than £10 in the sale.
Moss's Deviland shirts are really bad quality and at par with Primark/Asda. I would spend a little more and buy them from Tm Lewin/Charles Twright when they are on Sale
I was impressed with their bog standard tailored fit white double cuff, the Moss 1851. I got one wear out of it then destroyed it at a wedding - oops! Sponsored by free prosecco! It looked and felt decent quality though. Certainly on a par with CT and TML.

So I shall be back in to get another one now - cheers OP
A 15% discount is also available with Unidays if you can use it .
Have never tried the moss bros shirts but would be interested to see how they compare to TM Lewin and Charles Tyrwhitt. Would be good if they did non-iron shirts in the slimmer sizes as well.

quality was ok cut was rubbish returned all of mine
Just tried them on yesterday and am I disappointed or what - no one in their sane mind can pay 45 quid for them - full price - I struggled to justify paying even the 13 quid for it - and all of them are going back - oh well, you have to be in to win it - they said - so I tried - but.
Received my order. The tshirts seem ok but the polos dont, the fitting is poor. Anyone else feel the same?
That's a real shame. Wondering whether I should send these back. Sports Direct are evil.
Sorry - my original message just gave to info - without going into detail. Yeah LVMH own the brand and SD have licence to put the brand name in goods they sell. They have lots of "Well Known" labels in their grasp - most of what they sell where you recognise the name is like this. Firetap, Pierre Cardin are another two.
You can get DKNY branded stuff from Flannels website (part of SD) at humongous discount. Reason being - no in in their right mind would pay £400 for a Sports Direct branded coat - but swap the label to DKNY and offer it at "Discount" of £40 and see them fly out the warehouse. They have regular sales, in between the odd day at higher prices just to stay above the law of how they can advertise it's a sale.
