m83 is a bit of a troll, perhaps I should talk to a mod to arrange his holiday. On the other hand: amazon.co.uk/gp/…new.

    Still @ £151.99 on Amazon

Well these are £143.99 on overclockers so why not just sell for profit?

    by profit you mean loss?

For those people with assurances that they will get a 7950 after Amazon started cancelling orders, could you please kindly upload evidence/ screenshots so that I can better argue my case?

Many thanks in advance and I hope you get your cards!

It doesn't work. The actual dimensions, weight, and ASIN are for a 650 … It doesn't work. The actual dimensions, weight, and ASIN are for a 650 ti. And the law also states that if it's a reasonable mistake, they can't be liable (if I read that right)

Nothing they write on their website effects your statutory rights under the sale of goods act.

They made an offer to treat (the sale price/description) someone here even double checked it was correct with them, and they accepted the contract (they took your cash/charged your card)

You cannot do takie-backies once both parties have agreed to enter into the sales contract. They have to deliver the goods/service.

The "screw over retailers" mentality on this site sometimes is shocking. Good luck taking on Amazon with legalese X). Just move on and take some personal responsibility. It was clearly an error and everyone knew it. God knows why they haven't fixed the listing yet but it's not worth wasting any more of your own time or theirs.

Even if you do get them to send the cards, you'll have put so much time and effort into it you might as well have got a part time job and bought a 780.

Pc hardware does not have good profit margins, 10% on a graphics card was considered very good when I worked in retail. This would cost amazon a fair bit to honour, too much TBH. Although not as much as they avoid in tax each year...

Keep screen grabs of everything for evidence.

If you bought from Amazon, add the item to the Amazon basket and click on the item desciption from there to screen grab this...

    Their offer to treat

"MSI AMD R7950 3GB DDR5 Twin Frozr PCI-E Graphics Card
    by MSI
Be the first to review this item
    RRP: £258.95
Price: £151.99 & this item Delivered FREE in the UK with Super Saver Delivery. See details and conditions
    You Save: £106.96 (41%)

Usually dispatched within 1 to 4 weeks.
Dispatched from and sold by Amazon. Gift-wrap available."

When has a 650ti ever had an RRP of £258.95? That's the price you would expect to pay for a 7950!

and finally you need evidence of them accepting you payment so screen grab your credit card statement also.

This is a mistake. The ASIN- B00C1ZHT24 refers to a 650 ti boost, amazon.de lists it correctly = amazon.de/com…T24

The MSI 7950 is correctly listed on the co.uk site here, the part asin number being B00B06M0O2:

    amazon.co.uk/MSI…950

What you will get is a 650 ti boost and will have to send it back, you can argue the desc is wrong, but Amazon will take it back free of charge. Is this worth the hassle to order on a off chance, no.

    red circle = 650ti and NOT 7950
green circle = where its shipping from (if you need to ship it back).

If you wanna try your luck, buy from amazon! Shocking amount of ppl buying from amazon market thinking its from amazon.

I believe this is the best deal around for the 7950 series by a landslide and supersedes all others before , but there is quite a while before Christmas comes so Do you think I may be jumping the gun so to speak in purchasing now?Amazon dropping there price to beat of the competition just confirms to me I feel that they want your business and have acquired a large stock hold from there supplier.Thank you for your help and advise.Best Regards,

As you've suggested, if it's for Xmas, buying components now means you're effectively building a 6 month old PC (and probably paying more as a result).

Regardless, this is currently a great price for a 7950 but there are things to consider. Places other than Amazon offer game bundles with AMD cards. Nvidia have begun rolling out their 700 series (starting with the high-end).

I've been slightly put off the 7950 because of this review compared to the 660 Ti:http://techreport.com/review/23981/radeon-hd-7950-vs-geforce-gtx-660-ti-revisited/3

Be realistic. 780 is £500+ and I cannot see 760Ti much lower than £300 thb, not before 880 is out. Green is good at inflating the price.

That table is utter bull. The details haven't been released, so it is pure speculation.

A little proper research and it's easy to find that it's not even based on reality since the 8xxx series is an OEM rebadge and the GPUs coming later this year from AMD are being released as 9xxx.

I dunno, you can't exactly lose. At worst you just return the 650 for a full refund, if you can't afford the funds missing for a few days I'd say you shouldn't be buying a graphics card at all!

    Right,

So on Thursday I got the email most of us got, that the item was the wrong item etc blah blah. I almost wasn't going to phone them after that but anyway, yesterday I called at lunchtime, on this number: 01606 609 396. Spoke with a guy called Issac M (He wasn't allowed to give the full surname). At first he basically said he can't do anything, then I basically said I was unhappy and it should be fulfilled etc. He went and spoke to a supervisor, he then came back and apologised and offered me a £5 credit into my account. Didn't mention anything else, had I accepted that, that would have been all! But I said, is that it £5, I asked if a product comes into stock can you fulfill it and he did agree, as long as its sold and fulfilled by Amazon. Also he will give me the £5 in my account. Didn't really know how true to the deal they would be, he did say its on my account notes.
This is the email he sent me straight after:

    Hello

I understand the inconvenience this situation has caused and on this occasion, I would like to give you a GBP 5.00 promotional gift certificate as a goodwill gesture, for use towards your next Amazon.co.uk order.

I've already added the promotional gift certificate funds to your Amazon.co.uk account. As this is a promotional gift certificate, it will not appear in the "View gift certificate balance" section of the "Your Account" link.

If you place a qualifying order using your Shopping Basket, you will be able to see that the value of your gift certificate has been deducted from the total cost in the order summary. Any unused funds will be retained in your account and can be used at a later date.

Promotional gift certificates must be redeemed at our website, towards the purchase of products sold by Amazon.co.uk. This promotional gift certificate does not apply to orders placed through our third party sellers, and it can’t be redeemed against Kindle content, delivery, gift certificates or gift wrapping costs.

I encourage you to view the terms and conditions for promotional gift certificates listed online at the following URL:

    amazon.co.uk/gp/…150

As per our telephone conversation if MSI R7950-TF-3GD5/OC-BE-G Bundle: R7950 Twin Frozr Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB OC DVI HDMI 2 x Mini-DisplayPort + Includes Far Cry 3 Game issue is resolved we are more than happy to sell you the item at the same price , as long as the item is being sold and fulfilled by Amazon.co.uk

I hope this helps. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

    Warmest regards,
    Isaac M

So later in the afternoon on my phone I spotted the same card at the normal price about £247. Under other sellers Amazon was there. Called up and spoke to a Bryan, he wasn't allowed to transfer me to Issac. Long story short, he spoke with a supervisor and agreed to fulfill it, but because I wasn't at a computer, he said he will call me back. After that I did notice on my pc that the listing changed it's pictures to another msi 7950 with a single fan, I didn't want that one and didn't want to take the risk. While waiting for a call back, I thought I'd pull up another and ask for that and see what happens. I saw the gigabyte and wasn't too keen on that but came across the Sapphire 7950 vapor-x at around the same price at £249. This also had good reviews etc.

So when he called back, I explained that I want the Sapphire one as it's in stock and the MSI is 2-4 weeks shipping time and I need it asap etc. He wasnt keen as it wasn't MSI but went and asked his supervisor and agreed.

So basically I ordered 2 of them, while on the phone, as my original order was for 2. the total was just under £500. He amended the order and put each card at £151.99. Plus the £5 discount was applied. Plus he threw in free express delivery, this was about half 5 yesterday I think. So the total was 298.98!!

Then he sent me this email:

    Hello Mr. xxxx,

Good day! This is Bryan, the one you've spoken with a while ago. Before anything else, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being a valued Amazon customer.

I’m sorry about any misunderstanding about the price of "Sapphire 11196-09-40G HD7950 3GB Vapox-X Graphics Card".

Our prices may increase or decrease based on a number of factors.

I've checked the price of "Sapphire 11196-09-40G HD7950 3GB Vapox-X Graphics Card" and can confirm that our price for this item will be GBP 249.39 per item when you place your order.

As your order hasn’t yet dispatched, I’ve adjusted the price to reflect the current price of GBP £151.99 per item and the full amount for the 2 items cost is £298.98 since we deducted the £5.00 promotional certification from this order.

Aside from this, I also changed the shipping method from Free Super saver Delivery to Express Delivery and it's FREE OF CHARGE.

Delivery Due Date: Saturday, 8 June 2013.

This is the price you’ll be charged when the order is dispatched.

When we dispatch your order, we’ll send you an e-mail to confirm the date, contents of your order and method of delivery.

I hope that I was able to solve your problem. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

    Warmest regards,
    Bryan

Good news from me too - I spoke to Amazon yesterday morning... Took 40 … Good news from me too - I spoke to Amazon yesterday morning... Took 40 mins but managed to convince the supervisor to send me the Sapphire cards (after politely declining their initial offers of just £30 off, then £50 off). My original order was made at the £158 price, but I'm happy with that - I didn't want to push for the £151.99 that others got! They offered free express shipping too (although I have Prime anyway) and they arrived this morning! :)Ta for everyone else who posted info on their Amazon discussions - I may not have persisted for so long otherwise!

You're very welcome, glad me and Rev could help out and its good to see others getting a deal.

This is why the trolls earlier on here don't get these types of offers, they are negative by nature so are ill equipped to handle the situation with Amazon.
