Still cannot help but giggle childishly at that brand name.
Lol, i don't think anyone would buy it if it said 5h1t Novo Elf2. :D

Plus UK configuration (plug and language setup) adds another few dollars.
Free shipping (China Post) takes about a month. Add (minimum) $10 more for speedier shipping.
Takes it to £131 .... and thats using XE.com. The conversion rate from bank/credit card/paypal won't be as good as that.
You then risk import taxes and duties.
And finally, there are probably other Chinese importers selling it cheaper than that. (try sites like alibaba and aliexpress)
It's pretty much an Eken A90 (a lot of the 9.7" Chinese tablets are based on very similar hardware .... this is one of them). For all the extra hassle that comes with buying an import, you'd be as well just buying the A90 from Futeko (£140 odd) and doing away with all the hassle of buying from China not to mention the peace of mind of having a UK return to base warranty. (and Futeko are also very good on the customer service front)
In summary - the tablet is acceptable the seller is excellent.
Aleen - this has mini-HDMI out (I haven't tried it)
Sancheez - not sure what your point is but this tablet is shipped from the UK and is well under half the price.

Apologies to Aleen my mistake - no HDMI as you say.
Also, are you sure you have EXACTLY this model? If the spec listed on the Amazon page is correct then it uses the A13 version of the boxchip which doesn't support HDMI out (to make it cheaper .... hence this tablet being so cheap). It also doesn't show HDMI out in the spec.
I believe there is an earlier version of this tablet which uses the original A10 version of the chip so may well have HDMI out ....
Either way, someone here is wrong.
Either you have different tablet.
or
The spec on the Amazon page is wrong.

Spoke to a member on Slatedroid who said that Eken just make theirs really cheaply now and have lost their way in China - they are a joke whereas at one time, they were the leaders in the field of cheap chinese tablets.
A mate who writes games using Unity ..... his stuff wouldn't run on the A90 at all. He came round and tried modding the build directly to the tablet and when we did get it running, it wasn't the quickest. We had to switch a fair bit of detail off to get it running at a reasonably smooth FPS rate ....
Temple Run - unplayable as the g-sensor was not compatible with it.
Some 3D driving game (can't remember what it was called) - ran OK but crashed a lot.
Angry Birds etc - fine.
Another World - perfect.
Some Rocket Car 3D game - worked OK but the g-sensor controls were, again, problematic.
While others just wouldn't load at all.
I didn't buy any of the high spec stuff as you could never be sure it would work on the tablet!
Running one thing, in isolation, was generally OK. But you needed a good process killer to keep things running smoothly. With it being only single core, it got backed up pretty easily and thats when the lag really kicked in.
Video was excellent on it. Especially on the (very nice) 9.7" IPS screen.
I would imagine thats more than likely down to the ROM.
The stock ROM on the A90 was pretty clunky. Pwn3d was a lot better and CM9 was another sizeable step up.
The internals are pretty much identical .....
I'd be interested to see a Quadrant score from one of these. If it got anywhere near 1500 I reckon it'd be doing well ....
I really like the price, as a simple games tablet for the kids (7 yrs old) and in reality most of games they would play would be things like angry birds, Where's My Water, and tower defense games..so shouldn't be too demanding....but something still keeps me looking at the Aurora II and Elf IIs (guessing because I'll probably end up pinching it off them
I did not think it would make a difference, but the screen ruins it for me. My phone is a Galaxy S, which was getting a bit tired, but now seems shiny and new in comparison. As for the rest of it, it's not that fast (but faster since the stock rom was replaced), and the screen is not as reactive. So, fast games (such as zombie smash) are unplayable, but works well with other games which do not require such manic screen tapping, such as tower defence games.
For me, this works as a browser, kindle user, occasional games and email. I'm sure it would be okay for the iPlayer, but I'd rather wait and watch it on the telly or laptop. Nice thing is that the kids can play with it, or I can use it in the bath and not worry about it getting damaged, due to the low price.
For non-android users, this could be a good purchase, but for those with decent phones, I don't think it's worth it, even at the price.
Good find and heat added, but I would suggest waiting for the Kindle Fire to be released in the UK. If it ever does of course...
I wasnt expecting much, but I am impressed by its overall speed, especially for the cash. My phone is a Galaxy Nexus running at 1.5Ghz, which is dual core so I didnt expect that kind of speed but its extremely smooth (and strangely enough handles Live Wallpapers better!) it does struggle a little bit when updating/install apps on the Play Store and doing other stuff, not sure if its the lack of memory or dual core, or a bit of both but just let it finish and all is good. Overall its impressed me.
Screen isnt great, not the best viewing angles and resolution is a little low. If it had a 1024x600 IPS screen and 1GB memory then it would be perfect imo.
Yes you can pay extra and get a better tablet, but isnt that always the case? If you can get a A10 with 1GB memory and a 7" 1024x600 IPS screen for under £100 then thats a good deal, but then why not pay more and get the new Nexus tablet which has a quad core :) and it continues....
hopefully not long till hear some official info about the Google Nexus
