About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
Sanyo Eneloop for < £1.50
An extra of 500 charging cycles - instead of being rechargeable 1000 times, the new eneloop is even rechargeable up to 1500 times.
Improved self-dischcharge. Even though the self discharge of the old eneloop was already very impressive, you can store the new eneloop for 3 years and still it will retain 75% of its capacity.
You need a battery, which is reliable even when having cold temperatures? Before eneloop was suitable for temperatures as low as -10°C - now even until -20°C.
The new eneloop is even more environment-friendly as it is pre-charged with solar energy in Japan

Can't fault it...
vapextech.co.uk/aca…tml
This is copied and pasted from elsewhere, but I've tried it and it works...
1. UNPLUG the BL-700!
2. Place a good cell and a 'dead' cell next to each other
3. Short the (+) terminals of the two cells together with a paper clip for a few seconds
4. Remove short, plug in the BL-700
note that Panasonic has bought Sanyo and Eneloop brand,so you will find them repacked under Panasonic Eneloop branding also.
Vapextech : "12 months About 70% of charge is held"
These Eneloop : "3 years and still it will retain 75% of its capacity"
New new Eneloop : "Retains 70% Capacity after 5 Years"
Okay.
Are those figures just marketing blurb, or real world?

The latest versions will now be branded "Panasonic Eneloop" as Panasonic bought Sanyo and have killed the brand. The newest AA will be recharable up to 2100 times (the current Eneloop AA is 1800 recharge cycles.) A news report on this: news.mynavi.jp/art…ic/ (in Japanese so you'll need to use your preferred translator)
Anyway, deal price looks OK for the older 1500 charge Eneloops (assuming they're not fakes)

I got this one, it tells you the charge left and has a refresh function, but they don't seem to have this in stock right now

this seems to be the same though?

eneloop.info/ene…tml just found that
"Can I use a "Quick Charger" to charge an eneloop battery?
Though it is possible to charge an eneloop battery in a "Quick Charger", it is not recommended. We recommend charging eneloop batteries in a Ni-MH charger that is 2 hours or more. Charging eneloop batteries in a "Quick Charger" can reduce the overall life of the battery. It is strongly recommended to use eneloop, Sanyo or Sanyo NiMh battery chargers. We only warrant eneloop if used with an eneloop, Sanyo or Sanyo NiMh battery charger."

"And, within a year of "fast charging"....I had to throw all of them out because they would no longer hold a charge!"
&
"fast chargers are bad for batteries because they heat up batteries a LOT, and the number one killer of batteries is temperature."
& various other places around the web. I've had similar experiences with fast chargers too.
I don't see much point in using a fast charger with batteries like these that hold their charge for so long. I'd just get the Technoline/Accucell BC-700 or BL-700 linked to above.
Avoid fast chargers IMO - they kill batteries. The one I pointed to has configurable charging current which is pretty handy...

A good option for people who don't need so many.
Edit i realise ive linked to aaa but the aa are usually about £5 although I cab't see them right now.

I didn't know it was a fast charger, it takes around 4-5 hours to charge a set. I've been using it with no problems so far, if the batteries die I will change it, thanks.

Got to agree with this - been using mine in cameras and xbox controllers for years and not missed a beat.
Probably the "super fast" in the hukd link, or the "Super quick" in the amazon description that gave it away. But, 4-5 hours doesn't sound quick. Bottom line, if the batteries aren't getting hot it's probably ok.
I think 8 are for £ 13.20 from the same seller.
Regards
That's a common problem with intelligent chargers, I wouldn't consider it a serious fault though as allowing NiMh batteries to get that flat is very bad for them anyway.
same charger i bought - got mine new from amazon for £40 when it was on offer - now £50 - well worth it - "saved" loads of my batteries
yeh dont use fast chargers - quickest way to kill a battery

get a maha wizard one - far better charger - the bl700 is good but far too many niggly faults for my liking
royals, do you have the maha wizard - read a review that someone said their eneloops were too "long"!!! I'd had some 'fatter' batteries in my time but not too long so hopefully this is just one of those weird reviews?!?
Weird review here
i ordered some of these 2 days ago, so will post pictures to ascertain if they are real or fakes lol
Eneloops are slightly longer than most AA batteries I have, I had to make a foam rubber spacer for the very compact 1 x AA led torch I keep in my pocket to stop the twist switch terminal making contact with the end of an Eneloop battery when fully retracted, other makes of AA are loose.
I'd be surprised if a charger can't accommodate the slight extra length though.

This testing article crops up now and again. Might be of use to some of you.
Big Ole Low Self Discharge Battery Shootout
amazon.co.uk/Pow…8-3
Had mine for 6 months now and its excellent.
How many of these new (3rd gen) Eneloop batteries do you think have existed for five years? They were introduced in 2011.
I bought mine from amazon germany
