sorted byThis is absolute tosh. I'm fed up with reading people on this site giving an uneducated opinion which is ultimately really unhelpful. The facts are that this is easily the best phone for the price. It will out perform anything for the same price but on top of that you get the Nokia apps and good build quality.
This site is getting boring for people giving biased pathetic reviews.
Is this a good deal? YES. Fact.

The uneducated will bleet on about the spec's but in actual usage windows8 requires little power so buttery smooth & a real return to form by Nokia. The storage is expandable so no problems & you have free off line music downloadable via nokia music. Add a radio app if required & the speaker is better than the wife's iphone4.
Delighted with the phone & cannot recommend it enough

I comment in WP threads because I have personal knowledge and experience of the phones and have had since WP first arrived. You will not find me spreading muck in Android or iPhone threads because they do not interest me and I would not be able to give a fair comment on them. You, on the other hand will not stay away from WP threads for some obscure, sad reason. You say you have a Lumia 820 but I very much doubt it or you would know the value of the free Nokia apps. You are a troll in WP threads, nothing more, nothing less.
This Lumia 620 deal is excellent value for money and nothing you say through your ignorance will change that.
With its colourful, interchangeable cases and extremely reasonable price tag, the Nokia Lumia 620 is an excellent choice for younger phone fanatics or just those wanting to take their first steps into Windows Phone 8.

Pocket-lint: 4.5/5, Hot Product award winner
The Lumia 620 has none of the problems of Nokia's 920 (size, high cost) and the 820 (high cost) but is a lovely, charming and pleasant phone to use. It might be a little small for some, especially those with bigger hands, but we had no problem with our above-average-sized-hands. This is, in short, a winner, and honestly probably just about the best WP8 device out there.

Engadget: precisely what an entry-level smartphone should be
The Lumia 620 represents a new high-watermark for entry-level smartphones, regardless of OS. Ignoring the app drawbacks, the phone provides a great web browser experience alongside the full Windows Phone 8 feature set. It could be a very exciting phone for Nokia -- it's an exciting one for us. We've mentioned the price several times during the review, but for a new smartphone with the latest version of its respective OS, it's a steal.

I'm sorry, but this is nonsense. I've had a 920 and now a 620 and the 'only 512MB' of RAM means nothing - the user experience is pretty much identical. The 920 is fractions of a second faster whipping through the UI - and that's probably more to do with the 1.5GHz in the 920 compared to the 1GHz in the 620. 'Only 512MB RAM' means nothing.
8GB of storage is about average for this price, no? It's upgradable with as much MicroSD storage as you want (for example, this: hotukdeals.com/dea…836 - 32GB for £15.
Poor speaker? Rubbish. It's small and loud. Again, everything you could expect from a phone this size at this price point.
Problems with WiFi? Nope. Wifi is solid as a rock on mine.
FM radio? Are we living in 1980? Get TuneIn or offline some Mixes in Nokia Music.
Poor video support? So the file formats MP4, H.264, H.263 and WMV are really uncommon, are they? Or do you mean the 720p rear camera video @30fps? All sound pretty good & standard to me...
The Lumia 620 is an amazing device for this price and size. Nokia Music (free unlimited music streaming with no signup or ads), Drive (offline maps with voice-guided turn by turn), Maps (with augmented reality points of interest), Smart shoot, Cinemagraph, Photobeamer... all these for £140. Show me another phone that delivers this level of user experience for this price and I'll show you a low-end Android device that's a complete dog's dinner.
I have been following Lumia deals on this site for a few weeks as looking to purchase one in the next few months and as others have said you pop up on every WP thread and quite honestly you are just making a fool of yourself! This site is great for learning from others experiences, but you do not bring anything new to the debate, by all means contribute but do it constructly and let others know of areas where it may come up short but please then do not hi-jack / rant on against everybody else who diasgrees with you on every WP thread......... , get a life!
I have researched thoroughtly for my next phone and have decided it will be a Nokia Lumia, for how much I can afford to pay it is in my opinion the best value for money and suits my needs.
Unless you want to play decent games, what else more do you need? Unless you want a better phone purely for showing off...
Just to point out Windows Phone with 512MB can outperform Android with 2GB
You have posted so many negative comments about Windows Phone 7 and 8 that everyone knows you don't like them. You don't need to turn up like a bad smell in every WP thread. Why do you have a Lumia 820? You hate the OS yet you have one? Or are you just trying to justify your rabid trolling?
Your ridiculous comment about the apps is so off the mark. This phone comes with superb Nokia apps free that are far more useful than 99% of the garbage on the iPhone or Android market.
Off to bed with you little boy

Your lack of knowledge is matched only by your lack of understanding.
And what's your problem, memory is there to be used and you can also add more to it. Full up delete some apps. No matter what device you get memory is finite and you will eventually run into the same problem regardless.
Your workplace probably gave you the Nokia 820 because they know your grammar sucks and you've never quite grasped the concept of punctuation, which the 820 (if you had only been using it when you wrote the above filth) could help you with. Please ensure that if you write to clients for your workplace that you use the 820. Another reason they probably gave you the 820 is because Windows 8 (whilst not perfect) is fairly easy to use for even a dummy.
That being said, I bought one of these 620s yesterday and I must say that I'm impressed. My only real gripe is that the SIM card and microSD slots are a bit fiddly and take more care and attention that I think they ought to. I also wish the screen was a little bit bigger but hey, it's a £130 phone! The performance & capability of the phone is amazing for its price.
As for the OS, there's still some room for improvement but I'd say Microsoft is doing a great job in providing an alternative to iOS, Android & BlackBerry. Also, with Office 365 growing in appeal and with Microsoft trying to integrate its products and services, Windows Phone 8 is not only suited for individuals looking for a decent phone platform but is also a very viable business alternative to BlackBerry, especially when paired with Microsoft cloud services such as Office 365 & Windows Intune.
Maybe if I use the Nokia 620 often enough, I might even consider switching from my S3 to a WP8 with a larger screen. That's not to say the 620 is better than the S3 (I do think that's an exaggeration) but WP8 has all the apps I use regularly plus better Microsoft cloud services integration than the S3, a capability I want.
If you're happy with what you have, then keep it but if you're like me and want to give WP8 a try without incurring a big expense, or are just in the market for a new smartphone, you really can't go wrong with this phone unless size matters.

Btw, the promotion is also available on the 820 & 920: nokiapcupgrade.com/
This deal deserves double heat.

What the 'uneducated' know and Microsoft DON'T want you to know about. What the hundreds of 'uneducated' users are complaining about to MS, but MS are refusing to address.

I would also point out that I purchased a Nokia 820 and fell foul of the "Other" folder problem when it grew to 3GB out of the 8Gb available within a few days of owning it. Luckily, I was able to dump it on eBay.

£3.03 Topcashback here
You can purchase the phone up until April 4th and apply by April 30th. You redeem 14 days after purchase onwards.
The issue is whether you get the sticker on the box with the code.
Although you've failed to mention that Microsoft have acknowledged this and new phones, including the 620, have storage management software pre-installed on them.

Dude, you don’t understand da mobile marketplace much. Nokia Lumia sponsor The Good Wife therefore they have the best phone innit!
False economy???? Take responsibility for your actions. Don't blame your phone.
I have to ask... How did you arrive at that conclusion? Is it based on actual use/experience, or just a best guess based on the specs? Because as I pointed out, one review at least has a fairly positive account of battery life. I dont have the 620, but based on reviews by users and the media who have used it, it doesn't seem to be bad at all, on the contrary in fact. Also if using as a sat nav, a cheap car charger (only a few quid) would seemingly solve the issue in any case...
Also it just seems plain weird for you to complain that the memory in the Nokia is low, then recommend the G300- a phone which has a lower amount of memory (same amount of RAM but half the on board storage)... Both have memory cards so its a bit of a moot point, but that just seems a bit strange.
Don't get me wrong by the way, I've had a G300 and its a decent low-end phone, but no way would I take one over the Nokia. The only half decent reason anyone might, IMHO, is app availability. If that's not a concern then the Nokia seems by far the better choice to me.
Thanks for the tips.
The Crosscountry Train app will be useful as I travel between Sheffield and Leeds quite often. I had been using the TheTrainLine app
I could go on, but the price reflects the poor specifications of this phone......
Save your money for something better!
If you use Nokia Maps or 3G you will be lucky to get half a day's use out of the battery.
For those who aren't concerned with spec sheets and aren't expecting flagship phone performance for their £140 this looks like a pretty great buy. Only thing which has stopped me from pulling the trigger on one is that the 520 is just around the corner and is likely to be in the same price bracket or potentially cheaper, for a very similar handset (a few small compromises but a few small plusses too intact).
* To quote: "It typically gave us two days of use before cutting out. This entailed plenty of web browsing, listening to offline playlists and a handful of calls and email replies" and they also mention its battery life outperforms most other Windows 8 devices.

Me too. And I'd agree with all of that.
I didn't know about this - thanks. Does anyone know where the Unique code can be found, as I did not receive anything with my phone?
(edited)
Just found that if you click the link on that page, it puts Nokiapcupgrade.com in the address bar (although it doesn't actually take me there, looks like its badly implemented on their website), but yeah- looks like you claim it through there!
ed- just noticed that its tacked onto the end of the link which huxlee provided anyway!

Yes the phone is unlocked.

This was your original quote....can't see owt mentioned about storage issues!
I use my phone to make calls, Facebook, email.maps & music......which the lumia 620 excels at for around £140..nothing else currently on the market when you take into account the free nokia apps currently comes close.
If you want to spend £289 on a nexus4 then go ahead....but I don't want to spend no more than £150 on a phone and it suits me just fine.
:p8)
Only annoyance is that when it says "bear left" on a motorway it sometimes means "stay on in the left lane" and other times means "take the next exit".
Anyhow, Windows 7/8 phone is a really great OS, by far the easiest to use. It's just a shame the app store can't attract more apps.
