Just for those that wonder why their monitor takes soooo long to deflate, after inflating - think "oscillometric readings". The monitor takes a number of pressure readings as the cuff inflates, then a number of pressure readings as it deflates. It's those sets of reading that determine the actual systolic and diastolic pressures above ambient. Both sets can be extrapolated to find the actual interception point. Old/cheap monitors tried to sense the peak point. Newer ones use the slopes to extrapolate to the interception point. Latest ones use correlation between the rate of change of the increasing and decreasing slopes, to determine their interception point.

So, if you have an older one, say over 10 years old - you might consider getting a new one. If you are going to get one that can transfer its readings (plural - this one only keeps one reading and cannot transfer it) : best to get something like an Omron. Which will probably be supported for many years. Whereas my Lidl/Aldi "Crane " one has had its remote server down for weeks and they say that they probably wont support older models when they put the server up again with revised software.

I'd suggest just manually entering your blood pressure into something like Google Fit, which can important/export your data from/to all over the place.

I wouldn't use something brand-specific even if it were available, too easy to leave behind.

The pictures show different positioning of the cuffs. Where is the ‘pipe’ supposed to be correctly positioned?

There's invariably a dot or line marked "artery" or "art" - you line that up with the main artery that you ought to be able to find in the inner side of your elbow joint. (eg press your fingers gently there and move them about until they sense your pulse). The tube could actually come out anywhere. You put the cuff clear of the joint itself (eg about a cm or two clear of where the arm bends) so that you aren't including the bony bits that stick out.

NHS has given many library services some in branch blood pressure machines you can use free of charge. They also have ones like these you can borrow for free.
    Check with your local library

Brilliant price, I usually recommend this or the M2 Basic to my patients.

Does this say if the measurement is ok?

My unbranded £9.99 does the same job and has been working for the past 4 years with no problem. Still available for the same price on eBay
