Samsung Galaxy Y - £7.50/24m @ Mobiles.co.uk but only 27p via redemption £180.00

tek-monkeytek-monkey

Not one for all, I know lots of people hate redemption deals, but if thats your thang then this is a stupidly cheap deal.

Samsung Galaxy Y on Talk Mobile
250 minutes
5000 texts
500Mb internet

Pay £7.50/month then claim back most of it by redemption, making it £1.53/month. Topcashback pay £30.30, so averages at 27p/month. Thats under £6.50 for the whole 2 years.

Sure its no S3, but would make a great kids handset.

EDIT: Make sure you choose the 99p line rental as your free gift, not the £30 cashback.

If you're struggling with the above as there's some confusion on the website or you don't have the account number, ring 0800 049 1067, use Option 1, and they will cancel the insurance there and then (and send confirmation in the post). They then told me to ring 0844 499 4744 to cancel the technical support policy, which was confirmed over the phone. If you took out more than one phone contract, you'll only have one gadget policy per household apparently.

I have used redemption deals for the last 4 years or so. I had no problems with vodafone as they sent me paper bills each month: I then sent the relevent bill by recorded delivery every time with no problems. However, I had many problems with talkmobile this last year as it was online billing and they refused to accept emails containing screen captures or printouts via post. I have received just one cheque.

That said my 12 month contract for 400mins, 1000texts and 1GB data [per month] has only cost me £60 in total as I had TCB and sold the Desire S I got for free.

I am still a fan of redemption deals and will look at this one as it sounds very good.

Sadly posting redemption deals on here is a bit hit and miss to hot or cold. I am pleased that this is getting heat!!

    Hi,
It says you can port your existing number. When filling the form it asks for PAC and current network. I'm currently on lycamobile but it's not in the list of current network pop down list. What can be done to cope with this?

I downloaded CutePDF, then print the TalkMobile bill to that and upload the PDF as normal. Have been doing this for several TM contracts over the past couple of years, no probs.

Anyone know if the phones are unlocked?

So just to clarify If I sign up to this deal I pay £7.50 every month (after cancelling insurance and gadget protection)

I bring the headset to cex sell it for £50 (assuming it's unlocked) and I can stick the sim in my soon to be unlocked htc radar.

The I wait to get my £30.30 Top cash back and redeem £143.22 over the 24 month contract (in five payments) assuming I successfully send 5 emails.

Meaning this contract will cost me -£43.52? :)

For a little hassle it seems too good to be true!

Really like the idea of going on giff gaff (unlimited internet) but reception for o2 at my house is pants. On vodafone at the minute and it's usualable but not great, does anyone know if a Vodafone sure signal box would work with talk mobile.. I presume it's just the same but would love someone to clarify!

I've just come to the end of an 'all-in-one' package with Talk Mobile (12months paid up front). Am I eligible for this deal, and how would I keep my number as I wouldn't be changing network (although I do have a PAC ready just in case)?

Port your number out to another network then port it back.

How do you do this, and is this the only way, no way of just keeping Talk mobile no?

Anyone switching from an existing talkmobile Pay as You Go tariff?

I'm currently on Talkmobile's Pay as you go (Essentials) tariff. Would I also need to port my number to another network, or can I just give them a talkmobile PAC?

    Thanks.

Haha tempting but once you factor in the paypal, listing ebay fees and postage + insurance how much of it's clear profit? I'm guessing 60-65quid?

Plus I'm a lazy sod, £50 would do nicely :p

Yeah, the fees are grim, 40p to list, £8.FVF, £3.16 Paypal fees, so clear just under 70 quid.

Took 2 contracts out last night, one mine, other for husband. Both got a messge at the end saying they'd contact us when the order has been processed, and a confirmation email saying the same. I've not heard anything since, but he has had the text saying 'please contact us on 0871 whatever for further information' - has anyone rung, and if so, what are they looking for? Thanks for any advice!

Firstly thanks to the OP for a great deal.

With regards to contacting them. I placed an order on Wednesday and got an email and text asking me to contact them on the 0871 number, when i called up they said that Talkmobile asked for a £50 deposit, refundable in 6 months. So it might be something similar.

Thanks! I sent them a message through Facebook, and within 10 minutes got a call from them. Apparently it was because I had placed 2 different orders, but given the same bank details for both (as we have joing account) which flags up some security check or something. Confirmed all the details and everything is fine - no deposit or further info required, and hopefully phones will arrive Monday.

    Great deal - thanks again!

Thanks for that info. Ours will be going on ebay as we just wanted the contract. If the outer box is completely unbranded with any network info, can I safely assume that the phone inside is unlocked?

These phones are unlocked. Great deal.
