About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
If you give sky a ring you can get a Anytime+ wireless adapter for £9.99 inc postage. They told me its only for one week then back up to £60. (This doesn't seem t be the case, as it's still available after a week)
This is a ideal way to connect your box up to the internet to get the new 'On Demand' service if you don't have a wired internet connection near by.
The new service that replaces Anytime+ has BBC iplayer, ITV Player, on-demand from channel 5, plus sky stuff. with Channel 4 joining next year.
Telephone is 08442 411 653 (I can't find anything on the website, so phone only)
No need to phone, Just ordered one online. Log into your account, Go to "My Package" and go to Add box then upgrade box at the bottom of the screen is the option to buy it online for £9.99

Just to point out there are now two adapters from sky 'old' and 'new'
it seems the main difference is just looks. I have received my on this morning and it is the older looking one, so don't expect the new one.

To get the new EPG and 'On Demand Service you need to have either a DRX 890 & 895 model of box. you can then force a update:
Switch the box off at the mains. hold down the backup button on the box, switch power back on whist holding the backup button on the box down until the 4 LED's on front of the box come on and the "Updating System Software" message comes on-screen, remove your finger from the backup button if you haven't done so already, do not disturb for 10 or so minutes until the message disappears and the box reboots.

LOL guy I spoke to said it should be (in his exact words)
six nought point nought nought pounds but I can do it today for nine point nine nine pounds
You used to have sky broadband for this to work, but any provider will do now.
glad i didn't buy this as it's nothing to get excited about, troll through pages of stuff and still nothing on!
had a closer look at the box, this is crazy! why don't sky use the redundant usb port to make their boxes wireless instead of another box with another power supply?

If the name doesn't give it away.... i'm a sky engineer!
Thanks for that just ordered online now as well.
Eeek don't say that. I'm in my 30's (shhush tho... I tell everyone I'm 21 (_;) )
You dont need 2 force update for anytime + ..just that new catch up service and delete(accidental) tab will be created,it will update itself/ the older boxes(without ethernet port) wont support anytime+/
Sky selling adapter at £60 before, they knew its a rip-off so now they have got bbc iplayer (by end oct 2012) they making a big song and dance about anytime+ renaming it 'on-demand'/
Not everyone has router by boxex and people also have multiroom so people banging on about geting a ethernet cable for £1 need to remeber it is not practical for most people such is the multiroom phone line connection.
You have to activate the anytime+ service to get it first but there is no charge, you can download what you like but you will only view what channels you receive.
The old sky wireless connector is wireless b/g so not as fast as a n connector . I have heard the new ones at £9.99 will look differnet such as the image on sky websire (smaller box) but have also heard it will be same connector as before, unsure aboout that.
Ordering over phone, some advisors are just thick and some will try £3.50 delivery...my advice, go online order it £9.99 it will be charged to you card not you bill.
My advice is,,,,its is worth getting as now the service has much more HD and content compared to 6 months ago and its FREE.
But be aware, if you have a weak connection, you be waiting to download ages esp on HD.....2 or 3 or even 4 Mbps will drag.
this is all competition against virgin on demand.
plug in & power up
connect ethernet cable
go to settings via remote control ( tv & sky box on of course )
pair up ( in my case ) wi-fi router ( wi-fi key )
= bingo ! on demand
Very Happy ! More Heat !<3
EASY .
wouldn't use one myself as my house is fully wired up but great deal for those that can only use wi-fi
Call on 020 7126 7020 if you get free calls......
the new adaptors are B/G/N
Any live chat links - feeling too lazy to go and get the phone.....
£40+ on the Bay

I paid over the phone and experienced a new security method of giving out your card details. I had to type them into the phone rather than give them to the CSA. Only bit I didn't type was the expiry.
So vote cold and troll somewhere else.
If you have your sky box(es) connected to your router by cable that is best and you don't need this. If one or more box can't easily be connected to the router directly then one of these is a reasonable option for people needing the on demand services.
Might be wrong but I'm not sure this would work, the setup for the adapter is done through the sky box so it may need direct access to work.
I agree with what you say though.

On the page which TCB takes you to, if you go to the top menu, in the drop down menu under ' shop' and in the broadband list - click on wireless router under where it says 'kit'. This should take you to the correct page and if you scroll down toward the bottom, it's there.
Has not tracked yet, but i've not long done it.
You can actually hook your iPad up to this bad boy and control the box

I don't know this for sure, but would *expect* that you'd still retain the iPlayer, as it would be against the BBC Charter to host the service on a paid, subscription-based system (the same wrangling that the Xbox iPlayer had before they launched, with free 'Silver' users being able to use the iPlayer - not just 'Gold'. I'd expect the same principle to be in place).

So you hope. Then in a couple of days you will be calling them back up to see about the refund for them to say they have no record of them offering it for free......
There are two types of sky on demand, anytime and anytime plus.
Anytime is their older service where it downloads a selection of programmes over night that you can watch, anytime plus has a much larger selection that are downloaded on demand via an internet connection.
Nope, mine isnt and this still works fine.

Yes, but you need to purchase an upgrade package? AFAICT
as long as you pay any monthly fee for any sky TV package monthly you can use this and will get the iplayer BBC stuff and ITV & C4 equivalent as they are free on the web but on proper TV this way and you can also buy SKY's on demand material.
I don't have an Xbox so not familiar with it but can't see any reason why it wouldn't. I connected it to my PC once to see if I could use it to connect to my wireless and it worked fine, I also used it to connect my AV receiver to my home network. You'll need to connect it to your sky box initially to enter the network key to connect to your router.
Might be worth googling to be sure though.

If 'Catchup' is not listed on the menu then i'm guessing it will still say 'Anytime+' and not 'On Demand' on the menu - perhaps the update was not the latest firmware rollout. Check that the network settings on the Sky box settings menu show your ip and an active connection
