This appears to be a small error on Sony's site taking an extra £25 off.

1) Visit Sony via UNiDAYS

2) Search for the turntable or view the listing via this link sony.co.uk/sto…ity

3) Scroll down the page to this bundle with the XM5s, add to basket

4) Remove the XM5s from basket and the PSLX310BT should still have the discount applied making it £154.10

I have one of these, it's fine for casual listening, better than budget units for sure, but I do get some low hum at quiet moments in music.

It feels a bit plasticky but not bad at all imho. Looks ok - simple, but the textured finish is far better than many plastic models.

I used the bluetooth for a while, easy to use at the player - depends more on the receiving hardware as to whether it's a useable experience.

I now use it through a vintage Yamaha amp and a big old set of 80s speakers. I won't be upgrading the player as the sound is fine. Decent enough cartridge on it that is apparently an unbadged Audio Technica AT3600L.

I was lucky enough to get mine at about 80 quid (Clearance Bargains AND mispriced!) so I am more likely to be favourable!

BLC works on this and gives a 20% discount. So £150, works as I've just ordered one !

It’s a really good piece of kit but I can see some people being disappointed with how insubstantial it feels

Why would anyone want to listen to music via Bluetooth from a turntable? may as well listen to mp3 files on your mobile instead.

Sometimes it's nice to just physically hold a disc and place it on a vinyl player, not everyone is buying a vinyl player purely for audio quality.

Personally I think your looking at a Pro-Ject Primary E for 199 or less from Richer Sounds for the basic entry level. This is a manual turntable (the Pro-Ject) no Bluetooth but if you want decent sound, Its total nonsense to have a hifi setup that is Bluetooth based. A wired system will blow it out of the water.

The Pro-ject design aesthetic is fantastic too, a great option if you are looking for an affordable manual turntable! The PSLX310BT can be used wired too and it is automatic. Both are sensible options depending on what your needs are.

Useful for those who want an easy to use setup requiring little capital investment

Built in pre out circumvents the need for an amp and can be plugged direct into powered speakers and of course you have BT connectivity

There is no upgrade path for the table if you get the itch however so what you buy on day one is what you're stuck with
