    I thought that, but ...
According to Aldi's press office: "Aldi's Wagyu steaks are produced from traditional pure bred Japanese cattle breeds that are born and reared in Scotland as part of the supermarket's commitment to championing the highest quality Scottish produce."
The burgers state: 'Wagyu Sired, British Beef Burgers'.
'Wagyu Sired', according to Google [other search engines are available], "... is the result of a Wagyu genetics (sire) being crossed with another breed (typically Angus or Holstein). The resultant beef will contain 50% Wagyu genetics."
PS I don't work for Aldi, I was just bored. But now I want to know which half of the burger is Japanese and which half is Scottish

These used to be good, but got 4 packs of these a few weeks ago for a bbq and each one had large pieces of gristle in them and they rendered a ridiculous amount of fat when grilling them.

Wagyu beef has an incredibly high fat content. So mincing it and turning it into burgers is really quite dumb.

Even if you cook it as a piece of steak the amount of fat that renders out is insane.

Not great enough fat came out to fry some chips and they tasted no better than a normal Sainsbury's one

    The burger or the chips?

More fat than burger in these unfortunately

that's basically the point of Wagyu

These are ok but I prefer the "ultimate" burgers Aldi do. If you BBQ them or put on the George foreman grill they come out great. With a brioche bun too.

Wagyu or not… these are far superior to other buggers IMO… (edited)

ALDI & Wagyu ! Isn't it an oxymoron?

Marks & Spencer, Waitrose & smart shopper is an oxymoron

Previously tried Waitrose wagyu burgers, and was not impressed. Probably, when you try a 'posh' product, you have higher expectations. I would rather stick with just a standard non-wagyu burger, something like this sainsburys.co.uk/gol…40g also half price now.

I agree, these Sainsbury's burgers are really tasty. (edited)

Love that guy you have linked in the description watch him all the time
Also I feel the need to say this whenever I see "Wagyu" posted on HotUKDeals... its not Wagyu ... some how they are still allowed to call it Wagyu because their great, great, great, great, great, great grandad cow was a wagyu from Japan. Japan hasn't allowed their cows to be transported out the country for many many years now to keep it authentic to their country. Using real Wagyu in a burger would be a crime (edited)

had one of these SHOGUN wagyu burgers in Tokyo and was definitely not a crime
