How do you know if they will fit on your head? Never bought glasses online before. Don't you need to try on glasses?
If you have some glasses that fit you well - you can check the numbers on the inside of the frame - or visit a local specstore - try some glasses there work out what fits best - get the numbers and then use those to order.

Helpful guide http://www.selectspecs.com/info/frame-measurements/

Hope this helps.

The problem is that I need to wear glasses to read the numbers :p

when you put your prescription in the distance between your eyes are included and most decent opticians will tell you on their site if they are too small etc.

My sunglasses were received today, 18 days from placing the order which is actually really good and much quicker than my last order. Really happy with them, free soft case as well, so thanks Specky four eyes!

I finally received mine yesterday, they seem good for the price. No complaints other than the waiting time.
Were they marked as sent? Still no updates here, and no replies to messages

Yes I got an email saying they had been sent a day or so before receiving them.

Just had the following email as well which might be handy for some? 'We've noticed that you've selected reading glasses but not opted for the Specky2 lens package which includes an anti-glare coating (prevents glare from oncoming headlights when driving and glare from artificial lights when reading, using a computer, using a mobile phone or tablet etc).Normally the Specky2 package is £19, however, if you'd like to add it today we'd be willing to include it with your order for just £9, plus it includes a scratch resistant coating too.'

Do I understand this right in that you basically order no extras at all, just the most basic. And then they offer you a more premium lenses package for 9 pounds?
My pair turned up yesterday! They even put a small pack of love hearts in the parcel. Thankyou.
They are the nicest fit glasses I have ever had. The only problem is the colour isn't right on me, but that was my choice as they hadn't got the other shades in the style i wanted, they'll do for driving, watching tv etc!
I'll be keeping an eye out for new frames/shades from now on.

Edited By: Jakena on Sep 17, 2016 19:05
New pair arrived.. Outstanding customer service!
My specs were refunded back to my card as promised. I'll post mine back and hopefully get a quick replacement now.
Well after my email reply from Specky four eyes on the 01/09 I was told my glasses would be despatched within 3 working days. Today my status has finally changed to my glasses are now in their lab being glazed and I will be emailed when there despatched :( at this rate I wont receive them to 6 or more weeks after ordering! just not good enough.

I have bought glasses from specky four eyes before years ago, received them within a week or so but the service I have had this time is terrible. Had wanted to order a set of sunglasses but think I will just go elsewhere or maybe order them now see if they arrive in time for next summer.

don't expect them quick....min 3-4 weeks delivery

Good afternoon.

We've recently put new processes in place to make sure that our order processing times are reduced - this was due to the popularity of the promotions that we have. We now have systems in place to cope with a surge in orders.

OK after nearly two months wait I received my specs and they are much smaller than the size stated, I searched for mens extra large and they are smaller that my 12 yr old daughters and apparently i have to send them back at my own expense..
We're sorry to hear that they weren't to your satisfaction.
We do clearly stipulate all the frame dimensions on our site to help you chose a suitable pair.
Please contact us directly should you require any further assistance.
Kind regards,

Your frame dimensions on your site were incorrect.

If you could kindly contact us directly quoting 'HUKD Daz365' we'll take a look at the measurements you're referring to.

Finally got my glasses after first pair were smaller than advertised. I paid extra for fast delivery. took three months in total and was not offered any of the postage charges back. I'm not sure if they are right anyway as they are my first reading glasses but they seem too strong. but it's been so much hassle i'm not sending them back again, I'm just going to avoid this outfit in future.
Avoid like the plague !!!!
Why say such a thing?
Have you bought from us before and weren't happy?
If so, please contact us directly and we'll aim to help you.
Kind regards,

I can't speak for anyone else here SpeckyFourEyes are the only online glasses seller that have sent me glasses cut to the wrong prescription. To be fair you repaired the glasses when I pointed this out.
What troubles me about dealing with your company again is that you failed to respond to my repeated requests that you refund me the cost of return postage. You had told me you would refund my return postage costs as you had manufactured the glasses in error of the prescription. However, when I asked you to fulfil this pledge you didn't respond to any of my communications. I wonder if others are posting on this thread because they've also failed to get any communication back from you.

Please contact us directly quoting 'HUKD IL_CAPO' and we'll take a look into this for you.

Bought some recently. Two pairs, one pair arrived after about 4 weeks, the other pair didn't arrive at all. Tried to email them, but on three occasions have had no reply. Worst customer service immaginable. Really dissapointed as I'd heard so many good things about them in the past.
Can't help thinking that the 4 week wait might be related to out sourcing to China or something? Then the glasses get shipped from China to Leeds then posted out in this country? I could be totally wrong, but it would explain the massive delay in them arriving. Also their 'factory' in the UK appears to be a small office above 'Greedy's Sandwich Bar'...
For the record, we operate within the UK and all our glasses are glazed in our labs - situated in West Yorkshire.
We're surprised that you're judging us on the exterior view of our offices - perhaps we aught to judge you the same way for your choice of username?
Should you require any further help or clarification as to our operations, please feel free to contact us directly.
Kind regards.

Hey, why don't you pick on one member from the whole thread, and only one aspect of what he said, 2 months later.
How about instead of coming on a public forum to have a go at people you address the vast majority of complaints, answer your phones and emails, the person you quoted said he had emailed you 3 times and not one reply. Maybe if you got off your **** and engaged with customers instead of ignoring them you wouldn't have a thread full of complaints.
Presumably your glasses are so bad you can't actually read with them on, you say contact you, I'll bold this bit to make it easier for you, he has, as have many others on here with no reply.

Thanks for your comments.

We are addressing these issues which is why we are now in a position to reply directly to users on HUKD.

We have recently increased our glazing capabilities in order to meet demand, this will therefore reduce the need to contact us asking where products are etc.

We aim to supply quality products to all our customers in a timely manner. The majority are satisfied but we're aware of some minor issues with regards to communication that need to be looked at.

Have a wonderful day.

Now I get an email saying my order has been paused until I send them a copy of my prescription. I already gave them the info they wanted via the form. They still haven't responded to my email confirming their offer of the anti-glare coating.

I see this order going nowhere fast. They seem like a spam company, but have a very high rating on trustpilot.

25/01/16 Edit:

Finally got an email asking me to confirm my prescription details with a paypal invoice for the additional £9.
So 4 days to wait to pay for the anti-glare coating.

Hopefully that's everything and they'll be despatched soon.

29/01/16 Edit:
Just got an order dispatch email. So took about a week for them to actually confirm I'll be getting the glasses. No indication of postage used so will probably get them at some point next week.

Looking forward to seeing how they are.

02/02/16 Edit: Ok strange, 4 days after an order despatch email, I am told that my lens are being manufactured, and that I'll receive a despatch email once shipped. Confusing, but at least it sounds like they're still going ahead with the order.

08/02/16 Edit: Received an email saying the glasses have been glazed. Not yet shipped.

09/02/16 Edit: Ship confirmation. Says delivery can take 10 days.

11/02/16 Edit; So they arrived in 2 days (much better than another 10) and they're great. Prescription is spot on, the quality is great, the coatings are barely noticeable (hoping they're actually applied as it's too dark now to try them out) It even comes with a case (guess I didn't need to buy one after all) and a cloth. Very pleased with the end product for £30 and my concerns look to have been over nothing.

Total time: 2 weeks 4 days.

For anyone debating whether to drop another £19 on the anti glare coating, after placing my order without this they emailed me offering to add it for £9:
"Normally the Specky2 package is £19, however, if you'd like to add it today we'd be willing to include it with your order for just £9, plus it includes a scratch resistant coating too."

Hmm, ok so I ordered the lenses, £19 with the code and p&p. A day later I get the email:

Good morning,

We've noticed that you've selected distance glasses but not opted for the Specky2 lens package which includes an anti-glare coating (prevents glare from oncoming headlights when driving and glare from artificial lights when reading, using a computer, using a mobile phone or tablet etc).

Normally the Specky2 package is £19, however, if you'd like to add it today we'd be willing to include it with your order for just £9, plus it includes a scratch resistant coating too.

If you'd like to go ahead simply email us [email protected] or text/WhatsApp on 07999 20 20 20.

Many thanks,

Your SpeckyFourEyes Team

Very strange. I've emailed them back saying yes please, and what do I do next? How do I pay them the extra £9 now the order's complete? Are they going to manage to see my email and take the payment before my glasses are shipped to me?

Very strange and vague offer email.
Thanks.

Also code SUNNY5 for 5% off

Edit: I would've liked the Specky2 package for £9 but I got no such email. maybe because I used paypal.

Cheap but beware of lead time, last order took over 6 weeks and had to email them a numerous of times. But good price if you can wait.
Under 3 wks each for my most-recent two S4E orders: ordered 16 Nov received circa 04 Dec; ordered 06 Dec received 24 Dec which is not bad for peak holiday post. I find Goggles4U can usually turn an order around in a few less days.

it says on there that any optician will give you your pupillary distance in 1 minute, which is completely wrong. NOONE will give it to you unless you buy their glasses. I even called the company where i had my eye test done last week and they won't give it to me, which means it's pointless buying there if you've never worn glasses before and have never had this measured.:(

I ordered 2 pairs last time this offer was on. Came quickly im very happy :) if you skip all the coating offers they often offer you the antiglare/scratch £18 package for half price a day or so after your order was placed x
Yes I've just got the email offering it for 9 pounds. Suppose it depends if you trust them to upgrade or if they just send normal lenses anyway.

True I never took them up on it as im due an eye test and im pretty sure I'll have a new prescription so ill need to get the lenses changed. However without the anti glare they can be annoying to drive at night or watch TV in the dark with the flares that bright lights cause :( ill take them up on it next time for sure :)

Mine came today, 10 days from order, they are great :3 Gonna order me another pair!
Mine arrived.. and they sent me the wrong glasses. Didn't get any apology after waiting nearly 2 weeks for them.

Now I have to return them (at my own expense) and I have no idea whether or not I'll get the replacement for the ones I actually ordered. Not impressed to say the least.

Update: I take it back. Sent back the glasses and they refunded postage and are sending a replacement with a quick turn around. Pretty pleased with their response and after support. Now waiting for my glasses to arrive :D

Ive used SFE twice, they got my perscription wrong and tried to charge me to change it! the quality is not very good ether.. i found the antiglare coating they used to be patchy, Id avoid them, i find Specsavers to be just as good on price and better on quality.

Specsavers just as good on price, seriously? Not from my experience.

My family has had a few pairs of specs from SFE, never had an issue, and always good on price and quality fine :)

Does Grandpa on the photo come with the glasses?

Only if he takes Viagra first.
I buy from goggles4u, no problems at all with my glasses and so cheap.
SFE are very quickly becoming the DFS of the 'specs' world. I really can't remember the last time that they didn't some sort of 'secret sale' or similar running.

would never deal with this company again ordered reading glasses on the 24/2 just had an email to say they have been dispatched 22/3 and could take another 10 working days to arrive
I ordered some others from glasses direct couple days later and they arrived 2 weeks aga!!
do you know which ones are in the thumbnail of this HUKD post?
Just ordered some Berkeley's for £9.99. I'll only wear them in the evening when I take my contacts out, so I don't mind what they look like.

I've ordered from them twice before. The first order was problem free but the second order never turned up. However, I paid via PayPal and got a refund without any problems. Definitely worth the risk for a tenner delivered.

I went through TCB who are offering 12.12% cashback until 11 November. They have their own code TOPCB34 which gives the same discount. There are other codes available.

The cashback has tracked already!
