Vango Gear Store £48.00 @ SportsDirect

This is a great addition to a small tent. they are around £80 everywhere else. I saw this price then went to go outdoors and bought one from there with the price match plus thing I paid £43.20.

I bought it so I can use the small tent for 2/3 day trips and have a living space or if in a larger group backpacking , somewhere to store gear. pack is pretty small as well. it means I have options.
Interesting item, and seems like a good price compared to others.

I'm trying to think who this is being marketed to though. Isn't the sole reason for buying a small tent because of weight or pack size considerations... else why didn't they just buy a bigger tent?
I bought a 6 man vango tent from SD a few months ago and have to say it is brilliant. It stood up to very strong winds (outside the tent) and rain. Can't recommend it enough!

This looks exactly like my Freedom Trail Eskdale 8 that I got from Go Outdoors, which is 15000 mm hydrostatic head as well. It was fine for the couple of years we used it for and only stopped using it as given a better Outwell, otherwise would still be using it and it never leaked.
ANy thoughts on the brand, I was in there today and saw they sold shoes, etc. all cheaper than the normal karrimor stuff
I would rather pay more than buy anything from sports direct. Hate that store with a passion

Don't blame Mike Ashley...
He knows just how to work the capitalistic system to his own advantage...while not giving a fig about anyone ;)
Capitalism isn't perfect but it is a robust economic system. Sadly, if left unchecked, it can cause great divides in our society. I believe all successful business people have a social responsibility to give back to the community, and the improve the lives of the less fortunate. Mike Ashley has publically said he is not Father Christmas. Would you like to work in a company which has allegedly in the past fined worker(s) 15 minutes of wages for being 1 minute late for work?
I disagree about capitalism being robust, it is in a constant state of tension due to its internal contradictions and is only maintained by false consciousness and reification. A crisis is always inevitable. There are some very good post-capitalist thinkers/books around.

'Hangs head in shame'.. :( ..Yep Mike Ashley (and Philip Green for that matter)....ice cold...I apologise...as for the mug...again yes...it is added (along with some brochure) and you have to unclick......But I must stress that sometimes with very little money on pockets, needs must... Thanks to the age discrimatory and "apprenticeship" loophole, Sports Direct isn't the only place paying less than the real minimum wage, never mind the dreamland "living wage" that is talked about but no one actually gets.

Not to mention the auto enrolment into the pension scheme which happens everytime you start a new job/contract. It is made difficult and usually frowned upon to opt out. Then the bs tax codes that you have to sort out. For people on "apprenticeships", temporary contracts, agency staff, zero hours etc it is a minefield of exploitation.

It is emotionally, psychologically and physically draining. For people with poor numeracy, literacy and low confidence it is nearly impossible to get a fair days pay.

I often wonder, why do people continue to have children in this country?. Smoke and mirrors at every turn. Mind numbing tv, Jeremy Kyle or shows about "benefits scroungers" or evictions and reposessions passed off as entertainment. False news, pointless wars, incredibly difficult to get proper health care and housing, the list goes on.

It is disgusting what they SD have done, but they are an easy scape goat for people to sneer at. And thanks to SD existence, atleast almost anyone can afford to dress their kids in okay looking sports gear. Poor people used to have rely on markets for Ascot trainers...

Own brand junk from the British slave traders Sports Direct.
Donnay WERE a 'good make'.

Then Mike Ashley happened.....

No brand (other than the 'Big 5-6') in SportsDirect are what they appear....
Uridium
Donnay haven't been a 'good brand' for many years now. It's just another brand name now owned by sportsdirect...so cheap Chinese made stuff, over inflated RRP stickers and then artificially reduced.
I'm not saying this table won't be any good but just don't fool yourself into thinking it's worth any more than the sale price

I remember when Donnay, Dunlop and Slazenger made quality tennis racquets, not any more.

Really wish sports direct didn't exist.

Let me know if you come across any Blue Stratos.

sportsdirect.com – One Stop Sports Shop Since 1982

sportsdirect.comsportsdirect.com began life as a single store named Mike Ashley Sports in Maidenhead, 1982. A London branch opened up two years later and within a decade of its founding, there were 12 stores in the UK. The stores had a name change in the mid-90s to Sports Soccer to better reflect its dedicated range of football replica kits, which later became Sports Direct. As the company continued to grow, it not only opened even more shops but also started acquiring sportswear brands along the way like Donnay, Lonsdale, Dunlop, Slazenger, Carlton, Karrimor, Kangol, Everlast, and Umbro (although Umbro was later taken over by Nike) as well as rival retailers such as JJB Sports and USC.

Now the UK’s leading sportswear retailer, the Sports Direct International group has about 470 stores altogether; most of them in the UK but also located across Europe and South Africa. Finding your nearest store couldn’t be easier. Simply head to the storefinder page and either enter your location, let the website automatically find a store based on your computer’s IP address, or scroll through and select a store from the A-Z directory.

The sportsdirect.com Online Shop: Key Product Ranges and Brands on SportsDirect.com

There are five main product navigation categories at www.sportsdirect.com, with three other categories dedicated to specific sports, specific brands, and a clearance section. The five main categories are:

  1. Mens – View the latest styles of sports apparel and active wear for men.
  2. Ladies – Fashionable garments and footwear for a variety of indoor and outdoor sports.
  3. Kids – Stylish yet durable kid’s wear that’s great for running around at home or for gym class at school.
  4. Football Shirts – Buy your favourite team’s kit for the current season as well as other team branded clothing and accessories.
  5. Accessories – Here's where you can find all the accessories you need to enjoy your favourite sports, including footballs, basketballs, protective gear, and fitness equipment.
  6. Sports – Browse through goods for specific sports from A for Aerobic to Y for Yoga.

Popular brands available from the sportsdirect.com online shop include:

Regular Deals from sportsdirect.com

Sale on sportsdirect.comSelect the Clearance section directly from the navigation categories and you’ll land on the page offering plenty of multi-buy offers, percentage discounts, price crashes, and seasonal bargains that are ending soon. The styles typically include stock from current or past seasons. You can also head to the flash sale page where you can find Price Crashes and Weekly Offers to grab yourself a bargain for the upcoming summer or winter. Annual sales on football shirts come around every summer, when teams are updating their kits for the upcoming campaign and the merchant also takes part in the yearly Black Friday retail event at the end of November.

Ordering Products on sportsdirect.com

There’s no need to sign up for an account when you want to buy straight from the sportsdirect.com online store. The benefits of signing up for one include faster checkout, easy order tracking, and view purchase history. Plus, sportsdirect.com will email members-only offers to your email address that are tailored to your preferences based on the info you provide.

sportsdirect.com – Accepted Payment Options

Secure payments for orders made at Sports Direct can be processed using your Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, American Express, or Maestro card. PayPal is also accepted but only if you’re paying in GBP or EUR and only for items that are available for shipping, i.e. not pre-orders.

Shipping Policy at sportsdirect.com

Click & CollectStandard UK delivery is available on orders you place at Sports Direct, with a charge of £4.99 added to your order total and delivery completed to your door within 3 to 5 business days. If you need the items quicker than that, pay £6.99 instead and they will be with you within just 2 business days. Although the Click & Collect service gives you the convenience of picking up your items from the store when they’re available (usually within 7 business days) and still costs £4.99, the store staff will hand you a £5 voucher to use in store when you pick up your order. Collect+ is an extension of the Click & Collect service but gets the goods to the store quicker (within 2 working days) and costs £5.99 but you don’t get a free £5 voucher.

The returns and refunds policy at sportsdirect.com is pretty straightforward. If you don’t like what you’ve bought or you find out they sent you the wrong items after they arrive, you’ve got a few days to let the team at Sports Direct know about your intention to return and start the returns process. Here are the full details on how to return your unwanted items:
