Three-time Oscar®-nominee Frank Darabont (The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption) reunites with horror-master Stephen King to write and direct this chilling adaptation of the author's original short story, The Mist.

Following a violent thunderstorm, artist David Drayton and a small town community come under vicious attack from creatures prowling in a thick and unnatural mist. Local rumors point to an experiment called the 'The Arrowhead Project' conducted at a nearby top-secret military base, but questions as to the origins of the deadly vapor are secondary to the group's overall chances for survival.

So did I, got free cinema tix for it as well, almost felt like walking out, about the only redeeming factor was that the ending at least wasn't predictable.

Great film, very underated
#7
Loved the book although the ending was a little predictable - the birds, the dark tower!!!

The ending of the film basically traumatized me... a sat in silence for a few minutes unable to do anything
#8
Excellent film and gripped me from start to unexpected finish.

Amazing price!

Yes, the ending of this film does make you want to die. Hard to believe its the same guy that directed Shawshank, I can only think something really extreme and bad happened to him between the two films.

Its a new take on the 80's B-Movie 'small town affected by plague/zombies/little aliens' genre, while adding Darabonts flair for making it human. The unknown nasties maybe outside but the real monsters are inside us as we all turn on each other type thing.

My favourite film of 2008. Very underated film, the ending was just brilliant. Up there with good endings like Se7en, Sixth Sense & Usual Suspects. Although not as convoluted perhaps.

The chemist scene made my skin crawl :p

Some love it, others hate it (as you can see) but its def worth a watch for the ending....

Unexpected ending?! What the hell are you people talking about?! It was so obvious that that would happen.

Another film not worth watching, at any price.

Brilliant! Another Mist thread...
Just to recap the previous 120 threads - some people say "This was brilliant ". Others lean towards the "this was the worst film I eva sawd" point of view. It's a 50/50 split

Good price - buy it/don't buy it... shut the hell up... move on! :-D

Agreed. This movie was laughably bad. Steer clear would be my recommendation.

Lol, the joys of Movie deals on HUKD . Here's the imdb link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0884328/ where 66,000 people felt it warranted a fogtastic 7.4/10.

If you saw that ending as the 'obvious' one then you need an excorcisum performed on you.

A thousand apologies, O Great Exalted One.
From this day forward, none shall exchange thy opinions towards goods on the HUKD site, lest they be cut down by the scathing wit of Mr Echo.

Same here, I thought they made a horrible mistake by actually showing the entities which were laughably cheap CGI and took all the fright out of it.

I thought the end was predicably as well because I was expecting a nasty ending, if it had been a happy ending I'd have been genuinely surprised.

Just to try and balance things out here, I think it's a good film. I don't think the ending was as predictable as people make out, given I have never read the book nor seen the movie before I was quite shocked at the ending, and not what I was expecting TBH.

A good film at a cracking price. I paid about £8 last year for it and gladly pay that agian, so for this price it's a steal.

It may not be a Hollywood blockbuster, nor a movie that will lodge itself into people's memory like Shawshank or Deliverance ;-) but a good movie nevertheless.
