The AMD version is here. Seems to be an analogue of Honeywell PTM7950 which is used in laptops. Apparently it's good for longterm application to direct dies and is stable. The thermal conductivity is similar to Arctic MX4/MX5:

Key Features

  • 【Brand Overview】 Thermalright is a Taiwanese brand with more than 20 years of development history, with a certain degree of popularity in the domestic and international markets, and a significant influence in the computer gamer market. We have been focusing on the research and development of computer accessories. The R&D product line includes: CPU air-cooled coolers, case fans, silicone grease, fan controllers and other goods.
  • 【Durable】 Solid silicone grease sheets have a long service life and low volatility, which can maintain thermal conductivity for a long time on CPU/GPU, radiator base and other electronic components, and have excellent durability.
  • 【Widely Used】 Unlike paste silicone grease, the newly developed solid silicone grease sheet can be directly affixed to the CPU/heatsink base without the need to apply, recommended for CPUs with LGA115X/1200/1700 slots.
  • 【Installation Guide】 Use the included cleaning cloth to wipe the contact surfaces of the CPU and heatsink base clean, then tear off the transparent protective film, stick the solid-state silicone sheet on the contact surface of the heatsink base and press gently and evenly, wait for 3 minutes, then tear off the opaque protective cover and install the solid-state silicone sheet and the heatsink together on the CPU.
  • 【After-sales service】 We are committed to providing high quality solid silicone grease sheets, if you have any questions about our solid silicone grease sheets, please feel free to contact us.

Linus tech tip recommends cooling it down before applying. Room temp is enough to make it too hard to apply.

Same for most PCM and putties. Putting them in the fridge for 3 hours is pretty standard advice.

If you have mX-4 id just use that.

This is to be used instead of thermal paste? Single use I presume?

Yes - it is single use for longterm applications. People have used it in graphics cards,Steam decks, laptops, etc. (edited)

What’s the cheapest thermal pad for a ryzen 3600? I’ve got a sachet of MX-4, so maybe I should just use that!?
    nobbynuts's avatar
Yeah that's fine. Just use what you have. Its only a 65w cpu

Tldr not really needed in consumer applications. Realically people will upgrade their units way before paste dries up.
I've got my machine (i7) for ~8 years and still sitting 20-25c idle.

PS, thermal pads is very sensitive to pressure applied so will need to mount the correct torque/pressure. (edited)

Rubbish, paste in gaming laptops dries very quickly which reduces efficiency. Laptops that come with liquid metal often need repasting inside of a year as the heatsink absorbs the LM or it leaks out the side causing temperatures to spike.
This stuff is especially suited to modern laptops that are difficult to take apart meaning you only have to do it once and forget it, they are also perfect because laptop heatsinks never sit level they often have high and low spots and this stuff fills the voids perfectly.

One machine isnt indicative of a pattern.

The way they misspelt "helios" and just rolled with it is classic Chingrish.

    What about...

"can be directly affixed to the CPU/heatsink base without the need to apply"

Why is the AMD version more expensive when it's smaller?

Lots of people are saying it is the same thing. The spec sheet is identical:
