I've had these and most died within a few days.
If you received them alive it's your job to keep them alive
They were all nearly dead, tiny little things.

FFS! stop with the attention seeking nonsense; either don't breathe or avoid Lavender?

That should be an exclamation mark and not a question mark at the end of your statement.
I've had these in previous years. Yes they are pretty tiny (about an inch or two) but they grow on well with minimal input and there's enough of them that a few casualties don't hurt too much!

Mine have arrived. An equal number of the plants in the list. All seem healthy. potting up. We'll see. Having shopped around, it looks like a cracking price to me.
Can you plant them straight into the ground?
Will give it a go~thanks for the post.

Last time i got a lucky dip from here I got 72 begonias. Not a fan of begonias. Cracking price foe the perennials though
Every so often they have free postage days - they had one last week. And postage is free if you spend £60. Love Thompson & Morgan, voted hot.

Had these last year only about 50% made it, good deal if they survive, I personally would not order them again.
I agree. I get tempted in buy the price but two batches of plants from them I only had a 75% survival rate, and this last one was only 50%. When you take that into account it's not such a good deal. Don't bother.

You can always phone up to complain to see what they offer.
I also added on the geranium "jackpot mix" for £2.99.

Finally got my kit and I have to say, no way was this worth the alleged price of £22.76 or even the £5.65 charged. It consists of the bottom half of a heavy-duty bin bag with holes punched in the sides, a 100gr sachet of Incredicrop fertiliser, 5 packets of veg. seeds (tomato, cauli, cucumber, cabbage and turnip) and 6 potatoes. No compost (which I thought was where the high postage came from) and worst of all no growing instructions. I'm very disappointed with it.

I've only got a 4 foot long balcony so compared to me, you're Percy Thower :)
Any info on the random seeds they threw in? Did they just go on top of the tubs?

You'll have to put the salads at the other end of the balcony! Separate pots; and be aware that tomatoes grow up like vines! So need stakes and ties. We've not had good results with seeds. Think they need more TLC than the spuds.
Happy New Spudalicious 2017! Cheers OP.

We've bought this before and it's great fun harvesting the spuds.
As you've had these before could I ask if these require anything else other than water (bug spray etc)? Also, what is the yield like? Can I expect to end up more than 7 kilos of spuds? What can I reuse the year after?
Thanks.

Hmmm...you're not talking to a gardener here! You will need one or more growmore bags of compost. But the pack also came with the gardening gloves in the picture. Wonder if it will this time?

We just left our bags out on a wooden pallet so they didn't get soggy if it rained. Watered them when it didn't rain! Never sprayed them with anything. Didn't keep anything for further use.

They are a 'soft-skinned' salad variety. We did boil ours like new potatoes. The yield was quite small but it was the fun of telling the offspring that we'd grown-our-own!

I wouldnt buy anything from these guys
Explain.
Ordered plants mid june, they said delivery in August. Mid July they appeared whilst I was on holiday so sat in my neighbours garage in their boxes for 5 days minimum - no despatch email sent - so 5 days in the dark with no water or feed didnt exactly do much for them
So some of them have not recovered by the looks of them and im about to ask for a refund or replacement
I've always found they have excellent customer service. I ordered 6 sweetpeas earlier this year. Only 3 arrived but they included a letter explaining that most of their crop had been damaged by hailstone. They had also included a £5 gift token. I called them to explain that 3 was no use to me due to my planting scheme so i'd have to source the others from elsewhere. They refunded me in full and still allowed me to use the voucher. I've purchased plenty of plants from them over the last year and all have been good quality.

My next best offer is you can get a large - 2/3 whip 1.5-2meters tall named variety in b&q for £16. They had black dragon (dark purple), something lace (white/purple) - not the ordinary ones you normally get.
Ican't find the aldi ones either? I think the 7cm bit with this offer is the actual size of the pot?
The aldi ones are £10 thou.

http://i68.tinypic.com/aya5nq.jpg
If buying a new wisteria, always choose one that has been grown from cuttings or by grafting. Seed raised wisterias flower less reliably, and also take longer to flower. Grafted plants can be detected by the visible bulge of the graft union near the base of the stem. Named cultivars are almost always grafted, whereas species plants may not be. Buy a Wisteria plant in the spring which is in flower or with flower buds and at least you know it can flower.

Nothing delivered as of yet. Time for a call to their customer services I think.
I called again today and got through, they said its been dispatched, but they are unable to track. They agreed to send out another batch.
My tomatoes would be sent out at the end of June, and my Lavender plugs, at the end of August; I asked for a refund and was sent a full refund.

Finally arrived after 2 weeks in transit so looked half dead :( posted on 17th arrived 31st.
Planted them today so fingers crossed :P
I would contact T&M, tell them the delivery took ages and the state of the plants and ask if they can replace (preferably with larger plants!). Not sure if it'll work but might as well try. I have had success with replacement plants from Marshalls (still same size though). Good luck with growing tomatoes!

anyone checked their expected delivery date yet? I and many others ordered from this company for the same kind of deal but for hanging basket plants, but end of june will be too late! if they ever arrive. check past threads re this issue. Cold for me for this company.
joesmum
I hope these come soon, have the hanging baskets ready!
one of my orders was shipped yesterday, had an email telling me at around 10pm
it is the second order I placed, the first order was made 5 minutes before the one which has shipped, awaiting shipment on the first order
both orders were placed a few hours after this deal was posted
edit:
both actually shipped yesterday, one email notification was in my spam folder for some reason
mine arrived yesterday but I have to get some Grobags apparently....
hopefully you weren't expecting them all to be in big pots..
ha ha, first time I have grown anything so clueless!
if it says they are plug plants, you will get small plants which need potting

easy mistake to make though if you don't usually buy plants online

just buy a couple of grow bags or if you have a b&m near you, they sell 30cm pots for 99p each which will be fine for these

if space is an issue then put 2 in each 30cm pot but ideally one for each plant or depending on grow bag size, the average grow bag would be suitable for 3/4 tomato plants spaces out evenly

Seems a good deal but if the delivery date is By end of June 2016 like this earlier deal
it's not for me
I too went for the earlier deal and my order is showing 'awaiting stock'. These plug plants will not be flowering this year (or any other year)
Same here. If the status doesn't change this week I will try and cancel.
They send them out at the ultimate planting time. You can order and pay for plants that are not ready until months forward. It is the way nurseries work. Worry not ;)

Hmm, well my hanging baskets will be planted within the next few weeks, so even if the plug plants came next week they wouldn't have put much growth on in time for planting.

I fear this ending up the same as the "jumbo" pansies I bought from Jersey Plants Direct last autumn. They turned up as microscopic, barely rooted plugs weeks too late to be of much use. They also all turned out yellow when they were supposed to be mixed.

I've had success buying plants from Ebay sellers but I think in future I will stick with plants from Homebase - good quality and value.

Thompson & Morgan use to be great to buy plants form 15 years ago. I have never had a problem with the Plant as such. The problem has always been with Royal Mail using the boxes of plants as football or the plant get cooked it the back those little red vans on a sunny day or the best one, was forcing a pack of plant thought the letter flap that was obviously to small.

In all case T&M have aways be helpful in replacing the damaged items & evan upgrading item to compensate for the inconvenience caused as a part of their 5 star guarantee.

The best buy use to be 90 cell pack of Busy Lizzy's or Petunias for £9.99 then the price went up 11.99 and so on, and if you ordered a few pack P&P was always free, the best thing they (guaranteed a minimum of 150 plants) in each 90 cell pack all the cells were double of triple seedlings my record 205 Busy Lizzy's (just to buy the seeds alone 3 packs of 30 seeds £2.99 each x 5 £14.94 Busy Lizzy's aren't the easiest to start off so a Bargan 8) I use to split them but that was the good old days.

In the last 3 years there is more emphasis on vouchers for £5 off your next order which was basically free P&P. Now since last year pay £5.65 P&P and get free plants not a fan of this. However now the pack are smaller and better packed not had any delivery problem recently :3

Just received mine. Definitely need repotting! With a decent compost, some feed and some sunlight I think these could be great
This is one of the most tasteless apples you can buy. Supermarkets sell them because they produce regular shaped fruit that keeps well. But if you grow your own why not get a variety that tastes good. It doesn't have to keep as you can eat it off the tree.
You can get apple trees elsewhere jsut as cheap if you shop around and they will be a lot bigger and fruit sooner than these.
Where do you recommend to buy such tasty fruit trees that match this price?? TIA

Still confused - they must have chanced something. Yesterday they were allowing you to use your emailed £5 off voucher on all orders even with the free delivery but it wont work now. Not sure how this is fair as it does say free delivery on all orders so ?
"The fruit of all fuchsia species and cultivars is edible, with the berry of F. splendens reportedly among the best-tasting. Its flavor is reminiscent of citrus and black pepper, and it can be made into jam. The fruits of some other fuchsias are flavorless or leave a bad aftertaste." Wikipedia

Yeah I wonder what research has been done to certify they are safe to eat, like carcinogenicity trials etc. Answer (very very very likely true) is zero.
Anyway T&M can fondle my berries after their last swizz. Pushing a rose called 'eyes for you' at the time with very nice pics. I even waited a long time as the season's launch of this rose was a sell out and my order was put back a year. Anyway the rose was not as pictured. I posted a review on their site that stuck to their T&C but it was pulled. The reviews that were published more or less confirmed my point of view nonetheless. I buy their seeds but that is it.
Fondle my berries is my new fave saying lol
LOL fyi It was born during my school days as an alternative to 'kiss my a**'.

Love it

After a bit of my own research
"For a listing of plants that are good, bad and very bad, Oregon Health & Science University, Oregon Poison Center has this website: http:www.ohsu.edu/poison/youAndYourfamily/plantSafety.htm. Scroll down to ”Good Nontoxic Plants” and this listing will include fuchsia.
But remember they only probably looked at toxins (I guess this since can't get the page to load).

Foxglove is poison
Only if you eat it :p Seriously, I've always had foxgloves in my garden, actually one of my favourite wild flower, and the children were taught they were poisonous - they all survived :D
Midnight Tboy
Ordered (let me at 00:30 even tho said ran til midnight). Didn't want them, but unfortunately the missus saw the posting grrrr.
So its 36 individual plants of different types (with likely repeats), or is it 6 x 6 types? Guessing the latter

Yes, it's the latter - 6 plants of 6 types.

, = coma . = full stop
very usefull in long sentences and pharagraphs come in handy too...

If you're going to be **** about someones post, picking up on grammar, you should probably proof read it and spell check it first.
Coma = A state of unconsciousness from which a person cannot be awakened.
Comma = A punctuation mark.
Usefull = Useful
Pharagraphs = Paragraphs

I think the " maybe you need more practice" bit could have been termed a bit more diplomatically, although I was thinking along the same lines - the way the OP phrased the post! Ebay can be an excellent source of seeds. Premier Seeds Direct is highly recommendable example.

this is a good price, but most of these seeds can be bought from reputable ebay sellers for around a quid so £23 worth from here equates to about a tenner for the savvy shopper. still a small saving.
I've been growing plants for over 30 yrs I've also bought from ebay but the quality I've received has been terrible they more often or not don't germinate, got 3 lots of ebay seeds in just now with my Thomson and Morgan's I bought on their last deal have all have germinated ebay one's not a one! never again
I've been growing veg for around 7 years, and have always used the same supplier on ebay. I've never had any germination issues.Maybe you need more practice. I use premier seeds direct. Always excellent quality.
This is for Admin, why is it that people are allowed to post sarcastic remarks when people are going out of their way to let others in on bargains they have found, totally uncalled for remarks if they don't think it's a deal for them move on!

Really?

I voted hot, and said it was a good deal, but just that the rrp of £23 that you got for the offer price was inflated. You replied with some slaver about every trader on Ebay selling seeds that don't germinate. People are more than welcome to post remarks on your thread, especially when it concerns the potential value, that's why we're all here after all.

Shove almost any kind of potato in almost any kind of compost and it will almost always grow. Been doing it for ever with leftover chitted potatoes, costs pennies.
