Them, and all the others. The PKK and DHKP/C are looking to up the ante and hurt the Turkish regime. If a few tourists get in the way and the Turkish tourist industry suffers futher I am sure they would not fret too much in order to hurt the Turkish state.

Shame, always fancied trying some of the quieter parts of Turkey but no way would I risk it now.

I don't think it's paranoia, just common sense. Bombings are already frequent in parts of Turkey. Can you guarantee that they will not target tourist areas this summer ? I love Marmaris but I couldn't relax there now or risk putting my family in danger even at the slightest chance of trouble.

Very much doubt that. Resort fees are always mandatory - if they weren't, very few would ever pay them!
not all charge a resort fee. most on the strip do and this hotel has a $22 per night which does add up ontop of your original bill. personally i would not stay there. better places to stay for the money and the location is naff to be honest. we stayed at the planet hollywood a few weeks back for 11 nights. they didn't charge us the resort fee which was very good of them and was a big saving.

"Less than pefect times" shame on you OP for not posting times to suit the reader there. "Budget flights" ..... e hello..!!! this HUKD, or did you mistake this page for fox and hound magazine? Orlando is great all year round, maybe he/she should book a hol to outer m ongolia instead and moan about the state of the roads there, or something... lol
About 4 months ago I got the deal for flights from Heathrow to New York JFK return with Virgin. £236. Thats a deal, not just any old fare you can find.
You'd be able to get this deal cheaper if I flew via Dublin or France or something, perhaps get the Megabus from London to Barcelona then a flight from Spain to Orlando... just because the price is low doesn't make it a good deal.
Based on that idea you could hitchhike to london or manchester etc, or stowaway on a boat across to ireland.. seriously, the megabus and taking an age to get to point B is ok as a single person but as a family it just isnt realistic.. ps, your jfk deal comparison was just a flight and not a package holiday for a family.

True, but if the price is low, the hotel is well rated you don't have to "get a megabus from London to Barcelona" first to get there like you suggest, then it might, just might, be a good deal.

It sounds like you haven't actually done any research into the costs for flights, hotels, or read reviews on the hotel and had a look at it's location. You've just thrown an off the bat comment saying the deal is cold because it doesn't suit you. Please explain why you think this hotel is "worse than Travel Lodge". Did you reach that decision because you have stayed there, because you don't like it's name, or for some other reason? And how can we forget the "Southern Airport" comment - I thought Heathrow was in the South as well?

It could because turkey gets really quite then.

Prepare yourself for a week of harassment most likely, hotels like these offer these rooms cheap and usually harass you to stay in the hotel as much as possible. So after being harassed on the streets to buy stuff in marmaris, you will probably come back to be harassed why you didn't eat in that evening.

Meh
i understand the thinking like that but plenty of reviews from return guests saying how they eat out across the road no problem and it is half board
chrsinne
Price excellent, Heat.
I will never go back to Turkey though. I have been three times, each time the travel from airport to resort was ridiculous. We did enjoy, once we got there but distance was ridiculous.

Marmaris and a lot of Turkey resorts close up for October, always good deals in October but majority of bars etc closed
Who cares, most tourist destinations wind down once the kids are back at school, this is a good deal, end of.

This is not a good deal. This is a cheap hotel room and there is a reason for that.

Turkey is not like this country. If you found a hotel deal for £7 in Rhyl, you just might be able to handle the blatant horrible room you're given. In Turkey, a £7 room for four people will be adequate for zero humans.

And one other thing, feel free to hammer other peoples deals when you post a few yourself, otherwise you'll look like a bit of a troll.

I am Turk and I am telling you now, you will regret this on many levels.

Have you stayed at this hotel

I don't need to stay at any hotel to be able to know that the region is wrong for that time of year. I own Bars in Turkey and can tell you now, you will be the only muppets on a coach from Dalaman to Marmaris in October. Go for it if you want, i thought you would appreciate the inside track.

What a load of ****, "inside track" my backside. Have you ever even been to Turkey?? Go back to sleep you muppet
Agreed, if this eejit owned bars there he'd hardly be trying to discourage people from going! (...now wait for the "I close my bars in October bs....;))

So you're saying, for the purpose of political correctness, that Turkey and the UK have the same standards? Show me one open sewer in a large city in this country. Introduce me to one person over here who needs to tell me I can't drink water out of a tap and not to have ice in my drink. Show me a £7 hotel room next to a beach over here that can comfortably and legally house four people.

Marmaris, for a lack of better words, is a hole. It is a beautiful place when good money is paid, but if you're willing to sacrifice quality like this then prepare to suffer dire consequences as a result. I am writing this on behalf of personal experience via a family member who stayed in a hotel just like this one.

Anyway, let me reiterate what I have already stated. ---> THIS DEAL <--- that we are commenting on right here, right now, not "any other deal" or "any other hotel", is going to cause more harm than good.
Give over, in general you get what you pay for, but whether its Turkey or Timbuktu this is a good deal, the price reductions are across the range, the poster has just pointed everyone in the right direction, its up to you to then do a bit of research and decide whether you want to avail of his post, a slightly more "upmarket" accommodation, or pass on it.

Amsterdam is great, but a little pricey (average 5 euro a pint or 8 at Dam square!). Worth it though. Fun to see the windows and coffeeshops, but it's history is what interests me the most, particularly WW2. Plus it's oddly beautiful. Can't wait to go back in February
€5 a pint isn't too bar. It equals £3.93 which isn't much more than pubs here.

I've just booked this myself for me and 11 mates...200 for flight..145 in the same hotel for 3 nights...went last year and it was the best holiday/stag do we've ever done...highly recommended it
Bobef90
It's a good price I have been many times and prices are steep during this period. I have also lived in Munich and I can really recommend a visit here. Great city, great food and even better beer.mclean and safe.

The Oktoberfest is no joke. Anybody who says that has either never been or had their eyes and ears stuffed with frankfurters. It is a fantastic event in every way. Scale, fun, great beer, good attitude by people even when drunk, rarely any trouble. If there is it is dealt with swiftly and never stops the fun.
This is the biggest beer festival in the world and Cannot be compared with any other. Do it if you like beer, silliness and a community fun.

Stay away if you are stuck up and stuffy and don't know what you are talking about.

Also anyone who values a cheap holiday over their children's education is also a knob.
Get your bloody priorities sorted; holidays are unimportant in the scheme of things.
You forgot to mention , people who judge others are ignorant knobs too ;)
Holidays maybe unimportant to you and your family but family time is extremely valuable to us as a family,
Of course every parent needs to prioritise and whilst I agree education does come first ,this relatively small time away from school is in no way at the expense of any of our childrens' education therefore has no negative impact for our children.
People like you are extremely quick to judge without knowing the facts , I mean are people really sacrificing their childrens education if they are off sick and miss school for 5 days in a year ? Of course not , to suggest such a thing would bring laughter , seriously it is that ridiculous !!
Lets not focus on the reason the kids are off , taking the moral high ground , and lets just focus on the fact that they will miss 5 days of school in 1 school year , hardly game over for their education is it ?

lol someone never went to geography class in school. it is Egypt which is very unpredictable and very hot in june . i cancelled my last holiday in march just gone as its realy messed up at the moment i would go myself but would not take my baby and partner there and put them at possible terrorist threat .i still get messages from the fco and they want to kill some brits .
we're safe here though aren't we , no terrorists could possibly want to target brits on our soil could they .... oh wait ...... ;)
Seriously if you planned a backpacking holiday across Egypt I'd say you were a fool or had some kind of strange desire for danger but a holiday in the Sharm El Sheik resort where high level of security is clearly evident and where reports of terrorist activity is few and far between (certainly no more than here in the uk) , I'm not so sure.
About as safe as a visit to London I guess ...... anyone too scared to visit London ? What about the people that live in London , are you terrified by the ongoing threat of terrorism ? .... Probably not ;) ... and people live there with their partners and some live there WITH kids ;)
i have been to Egypt many of times knob head and the last time i went the attitude was bad i even had a gun pulled on me .and i even had to pay a bribe to customs at the airport so sharm is not as safe as it used to be as said i have been many a time and will not go back until they sought there problems out .the reason there all moody is some of them have lost family members some have less work and money . dont get me wrong i like sharm and its the safest place in egypt but not as safe as it used to be .
Lol , you had a gun pulled on you and then had to pay a bribe to customs , wtf were you trying to smuggle in/out ? Wait ... don't think I want to know !!!
okay , you had a bad experience (probably coz you are a knob head and they knew it) ... now move along

Rhodes old town and much of the rest of the island is lovely - only groups of 18 year olds on the **** are going to like faliraki itself.
