The alternative is you pay £200+ a night to stay in a crap B&B near Tollcross. This is a bargain and about a 30-40 minute bus ride into Edinburgh on the First bus 27/28 for about £6 return which takes you right onto Princes Street.

Ahh, how frustrating - I actually happen to need a hotel somewhere near Edinburgh Airport on the very night of the 16th ready for our Norwegian flights to Connecticut on the 17th but can't find this on Travel Republic at all now - even if it wasn't great it would have done the job for an overnight stay! Can you still see it online Rachel? Thanks for posting!

There's a Mecure, premier inn and a travel lodge in Livingston which are all cheap I'm often up there with work
If anybody has booked this on a whim because it's so cheap, and then changes their mind, then give me a shout and I'll buy it from you - it would have been ideal, and chances of it being the one night that we actually need in the area we want too... snooze/lose!!

Some overly-harsh comments here ... it's £3.50 per person per night ! As Jamie said, you'd probably pay more in gas & electricity just to stay at home ! :D

Our gas and electricity doesn't cost £2,555 per year!

looks like a great deal but couldn't use that website. wouldn't let me scroll down list of hotels. then just showed me a list of flights after I selected a different hotel.
I've just come back from Marrakech and have been to Morocco twice including the place in the deal. amazing country with amazing people. Don't let other idiotic comments deprive you of making your own experiences and grabbing a bargain.

I have booked dates very similar to these for Menorca give or take a few days either side and I think I have a better deal, the total for me came to £1245 that included return flights with Thomsons at good times i.e 7am out and 11am back, inc luggage. Car hire for the week fully insured for 2 drivers and a private villa with pool full air con, WiFi etc, but this was for 4 not 5, but the fifth would only need a flight as the villa accommodates 6.

Sounds a good deal too, unsure how much it would be for a 5th person though and you may find even though the villa sleeps 5 you have to pay for an extra person. Unfortunately the flight prices around this time tend to be quite expensive too. Still you got a great price for a villa.

Not our school holidays :(

best time to visit Barcelona is September, not so busy, still lovely weather and slot cheaper,I travel to Barcelona alot .

Hi for Barcelona how many days you recommend as I never been there
dealerxxx
Two nights no thanks

Indeed, first day you're not checked in until 8pm if you're lucky... find some food and it's virtually time to board the sleepytime express to Bedfordshire. Second day is yours to visit two or three of the hundreds of attractions (or cram many more in without pausing for breath). Third day you're looking to make your way to the airport at 11am.

Nice idea but you need way more time in Barcelona unless your intention is just to add another notch to your travel bedpost or impress your mates with a random Facebook check in.

As for the pickpockets you were lucky not to see any, it's the pickpocketing capital of Europe. Shame because it's an absolutely beautiful city but keep extra vigilant, especially on the trains.

cant beat turkey for service ,quality, sun and price.
Those who find this so dangerous, dont need to waste their valueable bargain hunting time on this thread. Due to dipping Pound value, its barely affordable for Little Englanders.

For me it looks like a good deal.

Wow..... a brilliant price for a hotel in a holiday resort, I can't wait to go.
Now, let me think, why is it so cheap....... it's in Turkey you say...... ah no problem, I am well versed in world affairs, and what's more, I am an expert in all matters Turkish, have family and friends living in different parts of the country, so I am totally aware of exactly what is happening on a daily basis, and am willing to take the risk of problems.
Good grief, even those Turkish people living near the resorts don't know when something will happen, and the Turkish military do not get told of an attack until after it happens (and they won't worry about human rights when questioning suspects), so how are us Brits going to be able to feel safe ?
To rather misquote Josey Wales...... ''Dying ain't much of a bargain'' !
I live a few miles from Dewsbury, I didn't know (neither did security services) when a local man decided to blow the tube stations up.
I also didn't know (neither did security services) when a car load of bombers travelled from Birmingham to attack an edl march on a busy afternoon in Dewsbury town centre.https://www.skyscanner.net/news/tips/safe-travel-in-turkey-2016/https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/turkey
I live in Dewsbury and the security services lets call them police nor I knew that a mother would kidnap her own daughter.......blah blah blah.
What has this got to do with a holiday in Turkey.
Wild horses couldn't drag me to Turkey-The government advises this
There is a high threat from terrorism. Terrorist groups, including Kurdish groups, Daesh (formerly referred to as ISIL) and far left organisations, continue to plan and carry out attacks. Further attacks are likely and could be indiscriminate.
There is a heightened risk of terrorist attack against the aviation industry in Turkey. You should co-operate fully with security officials at airports.
Most terrorist attacks have taken place in the south and east of the country and in Ankara and Istanbul. Attacks are most likely to target the Turkish state, civilians and demonstrations. Nevertheless, it’s likely that some attacks will also target western interests and tourists from western countries, particularly in the major cities.
The Turkish authorities have successfully disrupted attack planning in the recent past and have said that security has been tightened in response to recent attacks. But further attacks are likely and could be indiscriminate.
Could not agree more with this. we were booked to go to Tunisia a couple of years ago. the travel advice then was pretty similar to what it is now for Turkey. everyone banging on about it being as safe as London or Paris are deluded. the fact is that the security forces in France and the UK are better prepared to react, should the worst happen. countries like Tunisia and indeed Turkey simply are not. why would anyone want to go to a country which is so unstable is beyond me. there was an attempted military coup there in the last year or so ffs.
We live in a country where a large number of the ISIL extremists who have carried out atrocities around the world were born and raised. What does that tell us about the country we live in. And as for comments stating the FCO advice for travel to Turkey is high risk, the same advice applies to the UK. Nowhere is safe anymore so we all have to weigh up the risks.

As stated earlier. I concede that there is a risk in our own country. what people in favour of this deal seem to have trouble understanding is the Fact that our authorities, police, intelligence services and indeed other emergency services are much more adept at dealing with it when it does unfortunately happen. this is simply not the case in countries like Tunisia and Turkey and was brutally demonstrated in the Tunisia attack, which a friend of my wife's Grandmother was killed in. despite going to Tunisia for umpteen years because it was lovely and the people where so kind and welcoming.

how a country like Turkey can be considered for joining the EU baffles me. thank God we are leaving.

You are of course aware that any EU member state can veto the application of a new member?

yes. I am also aware they our previous PM wanted to roll out the red carpet for them to join. I stand by my remark.
There is a reason why its cheap you know!

And for people saying that this is in a safe area, remember you have to land at an airport first you know!

You couldn't pay me to go to Turkey, A once secular country now going backwards with Dictator Erdogan slowly turning it into a new Islamist State

Ah 7 nights in the Peckham of the Iberian Peninsular.
lol have you been to Peckham recently? Don't be surprised if your CEO lives there... The rate at which it's changing no one else will be able to afford it.

I'd be very surprised if my CEO lived there in all honesty, being as I am the CEO!!
I'm certain many will have had pleasant experience with Goldcar, I'm not one of them. I only use Centauro these days, they seem to do Gibraltar though it's not so big you'd need one necessarily).
as Oz said on auf weidersen pet it's like filey with monkeys
Why stay 5km's away? Plenty of nice places to stay in La Linea and then you can walk 5 minutes over the border to Gib for the day.
Meluk9,Gibs a great place to visit and stay, ive been quite a few times, and can recommend the O Callaghan Eliot Hotel. They do a deal of 3 nights for the price of 2 most times, with a great all you can eat breakfast which is served in the resturant on the top floor with views over looking Gib and across to Africa.Ive booked through mygibralter.co.uk on acouple of occasions there based in ilford. I dont work for them, have used them as i said. But any discount for sales greatly received.

Keeping whales in a bathtub ? Cold. Keeping dolphins in captivity. Cold also. Shame on you for advertising the place.
Yes, shame on sea world for being the only company or individual to ever keep animals in captivity. You need a stupid username because you are stupid. Seaworld has probably done more for animal conservation and educating the public on animal conservation than most. IDIOT.
Its you that needs to do your research.
How many manatees have you saved then captain_cab.
As Bjork once sung " it's oh so quiet"
I am still waiting
" Seaworld has probably done more for animal conservation and educating the public on animal conservation than most. "
Can you give examples please.
Seaworld has helped rescue more than 29000 animals in the last five decades. There is this revolutionary new thing called "Google" archer1204 try typing seaworld conservation or seaworld manatees in and see for yourself.
"helped rescue" ooh look that baby orca there needs saving, let round up that pod using bombs and any adults that die we'll open up and fill with crap and sink them to the bottom of the ocean.......
By filling up with crap. Do you mean Tottenham Hotspur merchandise. If so best place for it is bottom of the ocean.

Car hire price is unbelievable but Martin from MSE has said that you can get a car for £4 if you book in advance BUT look for fuel policy as they charge a lot for fuel so always go for Full-And-Full.

Also, get excess insurance from third party and not from the car provider, take pictures of the car with damages and keep a receipt of the last fuel top-up to show as a proof.

Edited By: yasiraq on Jan 13, 2017 17:51
This company have just appeared on Rip off Britain. The holiday someone booked was not covered by abta. As they are just an agent for third party

That's correct. They asking to pay for an insurance £100 or £120
please do not take cheap car hire, you will regret. Always hire direct from car rentals not 3rd parties.

What you think to the caves i was there last month
I went to the caves first time I went. Good to see but won't rush back.
First the stalactites and stalagmites are stunning as the caves themselves but feel cheated you dont actually see any wall art which considering its on the main sign was bitterly disappointed,Hopefully they might do what the Lascaux Caves have recently done.

Just back from Majorca and a fantastic night courtesy of this glitch .....we had champagne on arrival and met the cast etc, no waiting in line, straight in as vip. The tables were right at the front with crisp linen and champagne buckets etc. the meal was perfectly cooked and we had ice cream sundaes too.
A great night with the added bonus of unlimited drink, including beer, wine and sangria. Hubby only drinks diet coke so they bought out the 1.25 litre chilled bottles so no cheap mixes. Well worth £5 each lol ..so much respect to op for posting this xx

And to think I was tempted to take this up! Hope nobody did tho now given the news there's a military coup!!!
If you'd booked to go to London this weekend and a bomb went off in Germany would you cancel it?

Of course you wouldn't and that's the distance you're looking at between Marmaris and the areas where there's been trouble recently. It's very safe in Marmaris right now, I'll be there in a few weeks.

Cheap holidays born out of other people's paranoia. Voted hot.
Try asking the kurdish people if they are paranoid, you complete tool
Them, and all the others. The PKK and DHKP/C are looking to up the ante and hurt the Turkish regime. If a few tourists get in the way and the Turkish tourist industry suffers futher I am sure they would not fret too much in order to hurt the Turkish state.

Shame, always fancied trying some of the quieter parts of Turkey but no way would I risk it now.

I don't think it's paranoia, just common sense. Bombings are already frequent in parts of Turkey. Can you guarantee that they will not target tourist areas this summer ? I love Marmaris but I couldn't relax there now or risk putting my family in danger even at the slightest chance of trouble.
Yes just like all the Bravehearts we heard from banging on about how safe Sharm El Sheik was until the jet blew up just after take off.

LOL. Or deaths.

Turkey is fast becoming a hard line islamist state thanks to Erdogan. Journalists jailed, innocents imprisoned and murder in the name of the state.

True about the resort fee, but you can opt out of this at the hotel at the beginning
Very much doubt that. Resort fees are always mandatory - if they weren't, very few would ever pay them!
not all charge a resort fee. most on the strip do and this hotel has a $22 per night which does add up ontop of your original bill. personally i would not stay there. better places to stay for the money and the location is naff to be honest. we stayed at the planet hollywood a few weeks back for 11 nights. they didn't charge us the resort fee which was very good of them and was a big saving.
Cold... Doesn't include flights and strippers...
August is fine in Vegas! It the desert what do you expect people! It's prime time. This is mega cheap, decent hotel. Rock And roll!
With those savings you can spend it on a hooker

Flight now £54 pp, even cheaper.
I've never actually stayed there but our shuttle dropped off there last year so I know the location. It's good to hear that someone off here recommends them.
Good deal!! stayed in this hotel last year and it was brilliant. Pools always clean and tidy, apartments are spacious and situated about half way between the old town and the strip. Wish I could book the time off this soon and go again.
There was a similar deal posted around this time last year, same hotel, but that one was even cheaper. I've been looking for a similar deal this year but booked leave for next week, and it's twice as much to go then, I'm gutted I can't book this myself. The weather shouldn't be too bad mid April either.
not bad at all....

travel republic logoCut the Price of Your Next Holiday With Travel Republic Discounts

Starting in the mid-2000s, Travel Republic pioneered online searches, flight aggregation and crowd booking, driving down the price of travel for millions of holidaymakers.

Instead of selling holidays themselves, Travel Republic acts as an intermediary, linking customers with hotels, airlines, insurers and car hire companies. That’s how they have been able to offer such low-cost and flexible travel products.

Nowadays, the company serves 3 million travellers every year, features over 300,000 hotels, 500 airlines and 1,000 destinations, so you can book trips to almost every corner of the world.

Where To Book Holidays With Travel Republic

If you’d like to explore what Travel Republic has to offer, the best place to book holidays with them is their online travel store at www.travelrepublic.co.uk which features everything you could need to build custom-made holidays, from flights and hotels to car hire and travel insurance.

What Kind of Products do Travel Republic Offer?

The Travel Republic website has plenty of different options for customers to use, with product areas including:

  • Holidays - Search for holidays in more than 1,000 destinations across the world, with the possibilities divided into beach, all-inclusive, summer, couples, family and spa breaks. There are also special sections for city breaks and the most popular resorts as well as pages for various popular countries.
  • Hotels - Book rooms in more than 300,000 hotels all over the world. Again, the section is divided into city breaks, resorts and countries, helping you to narrow down your options. Also features more than 1 million independent reviews to assist customers.
  • Flights - Book transportation to the resort and hotel of your choice. 529 airlines are covered, so you should be able to find the best price for your departure time and destination.
  • All Inclusive - Book everything you need in one affordable travel deal. Along with hotels and flights, you can add insurance, car hire and excursions to totally customise your holiday experience.
  • Deals - Where you can find the latest Travel Republic discounts. Includes packages divided by price, with special sections for families and couples as well as themed pages for romantic, beach, nightlife, relaxation and nightlife holidays.
  • Attractions - Make the most of your time away by ensuring that you have access to the best attractions in your destination. Book tickets to theme parks, museums and galleries to ensure that everything is covered before you fly.
  • Transfers - Book minibuses, taxis and other ways to get from the airport to your accommodation.
  • Cruise - Travel Republic offers cruise packages to the Caribbean, Australia, the Mediterranean, Asia and around the UK.
  • Car hire - Give yourself total flexibility when you travel by hiring a car at the destination of your choice. And, to complete the package, purchase parking privileges to avoid any hassle when you arrive.
  • Cottages - A special section featuring quaint getaways in rural locations and villas by the sea. If you need more privacy or space, this is the place to look.

All of these features can be accessed via the search engine on Travel Republic’s homepage. Just enter the details of your trip, press “Search” and you’ll soon be on your way.

How to Book a Travel Republic Holiday

Booking holidays with Travel Republic should be quick and stress-free. The first thing to do is get an idea of where you’d like to go by checking the destinations section and exploring suggested resorts and attractions.

Enter the name of your destination in the search box and select your preferred resort. Choose a departure airport (or group of airports), the number of people travelling and your travel dates. You’ll be presented with a list of possible flights, with full journey duration and price details.

You need to provide full personal details for booking.

Payment Methods Accepted by Travel Republic

Once you’ve reached the payment pages at Travel Republic, you can use the following payment methods to finalise your holiday booking: Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, PayPal, and American Express.

All debit card payments are free, but credit card payments will incur a small surcharge. All transactions are protected by Norton Secured, so you can be confident that your personal information will remain safe and sound.

It’s important to note that Travel Republic do not sell holidays directly. They connect you with various hotels and transport companies, and terms and conditions of these companies may vary. So check each ticket individually if you have any concerns.

Sales at Travel Republic

Travel Republic is a low-cost travel retailer, and every day is a sale in some form. You can get a good feel for their current offers by heading to their deals section, which divides discounts into themed sections. Always check the Travel Republic HotUKDeals listings to make sure you don’t miss anything.

travel republic holidays

Many of Travel Republic’s promotions are seasonal. For example, their January Sale features a range of ways to get away from the dark days and gloomy weather of home for tropical resorts. This kind of topical sale is a common theme of Travel Republic’ operations, so if you need an off-season getaway for some hard-earned sun, their website is a good place to look.

The Travel Republic Price Match Scheme

Travel Republic doesn’t run a points-based loyalty scheme that allows customers to rack up Avios when they book. Instead, they offer a Price Match Promise that can potentially save customers hundreds of pounds.

Under the price match scheme, if you make a booking with Travel Republic and subsequently find your flight or hotel at a lower rate somewhere else, the company will refund the difference.

To claim, just e-mail [email protected] within 24 hours of placing your booking. Make sure that the words “price match” are in the subject line, and Travel Republic will get back to you as soon as possible.

Cancelling Holidays Booked With TravelRepublic.co.uk

  • Accommodation - All accommodations can be cancelled with a full refund up to 3 days before departure (unless the rooms were subject to a discount, in which case a no refund policy may apply).
  • Flights - Flight refund policies vary. If you book with low-cost airlines, you probably won’t be able to claim any refund. However, if your booking code begins with “EUR”, you may qualify if you claim a refund well in advance of departure. You can find a table of discount policies of specific travel companies on their website.
  • Car hire - If you rent a car with Travel Jigsaw (one of Travel Republic’s partner companies) and cancel at least 48 hours before departure, you can claim a full refund. If you book with Car Trawler, you have until 24 hours before departure.

To actually make a specific cancellation and claim your refunds, the best option is to head to the “Manage your booking” section of the Travel Republic site. You’ll see an option beside your flight, accommodation or car bookings to raise a Customer Support Request, which will alert Travel Republic’s team of your request.
