Saw this yesterday and was reminded by the Turntable only post on HDUK.

Difference is that this was a record player & cassette deck (think old fashioned Amstrad music centre) that will encode and transfer your records and cassettes to MP3 via USB.

Now I only had a couple of seconds to look at it so details may be wrong.

From what I could gather the "music centre" will encode any played record or tape directly to any USB memory stick, compatible MP3 player or PC.

It's no use to me but I do know there are plenty of people who would love to transfer their records and cassettes to digital format. Could be a top Christmas present for them.

Oh yes, it was available to buy there and then.

    Sorry not the same thing...

This one looked like an old fashion music centre - turntable on top and cassette deck underneath. It could encode from either source .

Honestly, the best way I could describe it is like something from Amstrad in the Eighties - that's what made me do a double take - I couldn't believe any shop would sell such old tech. Then I noticed that it was, in fact, retro styling and mp3 encoding.

Sadly my 3yr old started kicking up so I didn't have time to take any notes on the manufacturer's name/system details.

I'll google something similar when I get a chance and post a link.
