Some time ago we refitted two bathrooms in our house and first thing our plumber asked where we bought the stuff. Victoria plumb was far from his recommended list
anyone national he recommended. looking to buy two suites so in the market for them but obviously on a budget. about a grand each. one is a bath, toilet and sink and the other is a shower, toilet and sink. I was going to go with VP but the reviews here of their customer service makes me think twice.
you going on a couple of comments here but not checking elsewhere for reviews? 28,000 people may not agree with the few negative reviews here :)https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.victoriaplum.com
I wouldn't trust that. Don't Trustpilot allow the company to edit/delete reviews they don't like
just putting the poster straight. I think I would always believe 28k positive reviews against 3 m8
But the source you're using can't be trusted. Anyone, even VP, can post a positive review of the about VP on the site. However VP have full control of the negative reviews

I know this conversation is online m8 - but you cannot be 1% serious and say the 3 reviews here outweigh the link I posted with 28 thousand reviews ( which as you know is the point I made ). Not sure if you are just playing the last word game either but you are incorrect.

1200x800 rectangular sliding door shower enclosure £149.00 @ Victoria Plumb

15
Looks like a decent enough shower unit. 6mm glass, 1.85 meters high, sliding door, brushed aluminium finish. You'll still need a tray and waste, but at this price you should be able to afford one.

Both of above are 2m height
8mm frameless option £269 there are discount vouchers available too http://www.betterbathrooms.com/1200-x-800-aquafloe-elite-8mm-sliding-shower-enclosure/ never heard of company before but have other stuff arriving tomorrow hopefully all will be good
We found one same size on better bathrooms website for bit more cash but 8mm glass and much less chrome/s.steel but in the end went for this one as its 10mm glass so thought it would look classier only drag is 2 months til it arrives and again has more metal but the slide function is better http://www.betterbathrooms.com/trinity-premium-10mm-1200-x-800-enclosure/ £415 will find link for 8mm frameless option
rmwdb
No one noticed it's only 1800mm tall. Shorter than all the other basic enclosure's on the market. Take into account the profiles and I bet the door is less than 1750mm opening. Shorter than the average man in the UK. Good price for something you will never get spares, parts or help for.....

Double checked - it's 1850, which is the same as others and over 7ft 6 inches
Some reason it's been reduced!

In my simple mind, I am saving water having a mixer?
No, because you can make use of the cold that runs out of the hot tap before it begins to run to temperature!

Yeah, not convinced tbh

I think two separate taps are more convenient and versatile though the handles on this particular pair are out of proportion and ugly.

I would also advise people not to be seduced by the reviews on the website. The reason there aren't any bad ones is that they don't publish them! I wrote a well-deserved scathing review and it didn't make it onto the website!

I noticed someone else posted about Better Bathrooms. I did have a better experience with them but I went to the warehouse myself and you were advised to inspect the goods before you took them away. I did go through several items before I found undamaged ones so was glad I hadn't ordered them to be delivered. If anyone lives close enough I would recommend looking online, then looking in the showroom, then driving to the warehouse to collect. Bit of a faff but not too bad if you live nearby and means you don't have to wait in for delivery or risk getting damaged goods and having to mess around returning them and getting replacements.

We are in Manchester and weren't offered this option, would have gladly done this as now we have declined 2 sinks and onto the 3rd being delivered.

I ordered items from Victoria Plumb a while ago. Awful company to deal with. Cheap and nasty products that arrived damaged and terriblue customer 'service'. Avoid like the plague!

In my experience they have never had terriblue service, ever.

was typing on my phone. Have now corrected my error!

Looking at details of toilets online and I've never noticed before what they are made from.

One says Vitreous Ceramic China and one says Vitreous China for example,is that the same thing does anybody know?

Vitreous or vitreous china are both the same and refers to the coating that is put onto porcelain products giving a hard scratch free easy to clean none staining hygienic surface.

Having just had a new bathroom, if you compare victoria plumbs sale price with others standard price, you will find there just like DFS was £2000 then £1000 now £300 and it was only ever worth £200 it's just a marketing con. But gulibal people have been suckered in for years, that why they keep doing it.
How do i find out the water pressure on my system?
For gravity fed systems, wher you have a tank in the loft say, a metre (3ft 3" in old money) equals 0.1 bar head (10M =1.0 Bar), so the head is from the top water level in your tank, to the point where the water comes out of your tap. Typical upstairs, would probably be 2-3 meters so 0.2 to 0.3 bar, downstairs obviously just add the metreage. If you have a pumped system, you would probably get at least 0.5 bar (5 metres head equivalent) or 1.0 Bar (10 metres head equivqlent) Depends on your pump.Hope this helps.;)
Thanks for taking the time to explain.
To determine what is high quality, you need to know who manufactures it. The fact they tell you it's "high quality" means nothing. If it's someone like Bristan, fine... It's good that it has a ceramic valve. Sorry, I want a named brand.
RichoRocks
valiant1876
requires minimum 0.5 bar pressure, fine if you have a high pressure system/combi boiler, if you have gravity fed system
cold water tank in loft you might get flow problems ideally need 0.2 bar flow for gravity fed systems without a pump.
Also if when you need replacement cartridges will they still have same stock in a year.
good price if it meets your water pressure if not you would be wasting your time and money.

For what its worth, I have this tap in my downstairs and upstairs bathrooms in use for about 4 years. I also have the matching set on the bath itself. They work fine. I got mine from eBay. When the first lot arrived it arrived with a plastic filter which shot water out. I contacted the seller and they sent two aerators which solved the problem straight away. Anyway, no issues from me. Would recommend.

Mixer taps have cartridges?

Good deal anyways, if the quality is OK. I paid over £100 for my Grohe and Franke ones, but as the plumber call out charges in London are so expensive and I know almost nothing about taps, I took the cautious route and paid more (than I guess I should) for brand name taps to lower the risk of them breaking down too soon.

I've actually logged in for the first time in ages just to comment on this deal. I used Victoria plumb when I got my bathroom done, I opted for this or one very similar one instead of the equivalent in wickes and saved myself over 300 quid. Good quality easy to operate between the two different heads. Also note mine, which is either the tetra or Ariel one allows u to rotate and tilt the square shower head ! great website and quick delivery unlike some other online bathroom providers (cough bathrooms4u cough) hope this helps someone.

fried.. hot
Seems a good deal to quickly fit to revamp for selling but I would avoid for the long term - at that price the bath won't have a fully encapsulated base board so it wouldn't be very rigid - be ready to seal the outside of the bath numerous times. As for a 5 piece set, great price indeed - I retail bath equipment and I would struggle to sell a cheap suite for that amount.
Just wait until everyone has been forced into buying a white suite, and then the fashion police come along and tell us that white is uncool (along with beige carpets).

Yeah why not, hey why not buy the materials and BUILD it yourself too! ;-)

Its not as difficult as you think you know. I had no experience at all with plumbing or tiling and I installed my bathroom myself, only thing I didnt do was the electrics. I got all I needed to know off the net and mostly diynot forums. I did loads of research first and took my time but I saved a fortune. I got quotes of around £1000 to £1500 just for installation. It did take me a few weeks and I was peeing in a bucket for a few days lol but I did it in the end and I am so proud of myself.

Sorry should of said I didnt install one of these, it was a total bathroom rip out and replace, but still the idea is the same.
bobdylan;6504224
Yeah why not, hey why not buy the materials and BUILD it yourself too! ;-)

because that would waste money. You'd need to invest in expensive plastic moulding machinery, not to mention having to create the templates, plus fit all the pipes and jets etc.........much easier to buy it and install yourself.
I've got a traditional bathroom and am looking to install this little baby to save some space.
