Ordered, thank you.
I have this model. It might be listed as red but really is red and black.

It is not featherweight but folds down into a 30cm length in a strong bag. It is my first choice tripod and with my 7D II and Sigma 150-600 sport very stable.

Good price.
Nice price (dodgy colour).
Yes, comes with a ball head, which looks fixed but can apparently be removed.
Can anyone recommend a fluid head for video that would pair with this?

WEX do a credit check even if you pay by debit card and the footprint stays on your credit file for a year.
Why would they do a check if you are paying in full? That's not good at all
Was going to go for this but couldn't see the point :p
Best dealer I have ever dealt with, their customer service is outstanding. Better than Amazon and much better than John Lewis.

I dont buy camera bags cos they stand out a mile if a thief wants to steal something of value, also i think they are costly compared to army bags you can get from a well known American website ( and they last a lot longer and can be used to carry your shopping, gym gear etc). My first army bag was a german army mountaineering rucksack with no zips on it . Zips cause rucksacks to split on the zip stiching when they are full. You dont have that problem with the German rucksack, they have a drawcord to tighten the top of the rucksack. My first one lasted 2years, the inside filling of one of the back shoulder straps have worn out. As soon as i get round to putting some filling material in the strap i will sew it up and start using it again. In the meantime i have bort a new one this time its black not olive in canvass material with a waterproof exterior base. For £18 its good value, I put my camera with bubblewrap and a selection of lens in this bag and i am good to go. I also have a small rectangular US army bag with a shoulder strap and 2 outside pockets with flaps. The bag is made of canvas and i waterproof it with a spray from *oundland, It is good value for under £10

This is a great lens and is very useful as it gets very close to the 59mm standard lens on the old film SLRs (48mm).

I got this from WEX when they price matched other sellers. Getting superb results on my EOS 750D and the f/1.4 is bright enough for evening 'street' shots. Bargain at £224. I think my Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 will be a reserve lens.

The £75 cashback was only on purchases up to and including 31 January 2016 so if you have bought from Sigma Uk sourced retailers you have till 1 March 2016 to claim.

My X-M1 kit cost me 150 quid so I'm not really comparing like with like price wise, although the sensor and image quality are exactly the same on both cameras.
I've used an e2 for a weekend and it's a nice camera, not too keen on the 'Fuji' colour replication for landscape photography either, it's a decent portrait camera though...
AF isn't much use for moving subjects either.
I wouldn't pay 550 for it... I also think the Fuji lenses are massively overpriced.
Just my opinion.
Just checked a couple of Fuji lens prices they seem reasonably priced compared to others: -
Fuji 10-24 f4 = £679, Nikon = £834 Sony = £993
Fuji 24-70 f2.8 = £698, Nikon £1189, Sony (f4 only ) = £757.
The new firmware update should make significant improvements to the AF speed but not sure that any mirrorless will come close to a D-SLR in this respect.

Tbf the Fujinon XF lenses are spectacularly good... I'm thinking about getting another 10-24.

" This beast of a camera " not what most people want nowadays.
Anyone that does more than take a few crummy shots of flowers when they purchase the camera then progresses to take photos only of their children, yes probably doesn't need the build quality as they don't need a DSLR even. However someone who is going out in the elements and trying to get the perfect shot and doesn't want their camera to die (like my D3100 I had a few years ago) is better off getting the D700. You could use lack of video on this camera as an excuse not to buy it; however if you want to shoot video, what the f**k are you buying a DSLR for, get a dedicated video camera. This camera is the best camera in the world, all round (value for money, performance, etc.).

What would be the life expectancy of the shutter? On an average ofcourse...
I think most manufacturers give figures in the region of 100,000 actuations.
I think it's actually 150K for this model, just checked my D3s today and that has past 370K, every model is different
As a pro, I wouldn't trust a 2nd hand camera for a back up, you never know if it has been dropped or had electronic issues such as lots of corrupted cards.
Nikon rate their "better" cameras for 200,000 shots.
as paul said, they rate this one 150k

Any reviews on this with a DSLR weight?
I have just spent a month travelling around South India with the non-red version of this BeFree tripod (build is exactly the same, just different colour), and it is great! I used a Nikon D7100 with battery grip and a tokina 11-16mm f2.8 wideangle lens and also sigma 17-50mm f2.8, both not light lenses. But it won't be good for a large telephoto lens as the ballhead is not rated for more than about 5kgs. But as a compact travel tripod it is quite sturdy and very portable. I would definitely reccomend it.

I have this and a Chinese carbon one from amazon.
I have to say this tripod gets used as a backup for me as I am 6"2 and this only extends to 130 cms (Chinese carbon one extends to 155 cms) which is very below eye-level for me so a deal breaker to be hunched over all of the time then shooting with it. This is heavier and bulkier than the Amazon carbon alternatives and is the same in terms of sturdiness and I much prefer the Chinese head to this. Add on the fact that you can use the carbon one as a mono-pod and invert it then this get left at home a lot or used as a light-stand.
To answer you question about what weight it can take. I have a Canon 7Dmk2 and I have put my Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 on there with the 7D body so thats just under 5KG's and it was fine, however this was using a collar on the lens so the weight was over the middle of the tripod. I wouldn't have all of that weight out in front as its not stable enough IMO for that.
I am sure the metal construction will take more of a beating than the carbon one from china, however I value portability and versatility over being more resilient to damage from side impacts.
Hope this helps someone.
DZ.

I'm intrigued about the Chinese one, any chance you could post a link please?

Very good deal for a branded make, I was tempted by the Chinese Carbon or the Amazon's version which hovers around £70. This makes it so tempting!

Could you please post the link of the Chinese carbon one? Thanks

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00PY4T7HO/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?qid=1451464290&sr=8-6&pi=AC_SX110_SY165&keywords=carbon+tripod&dpPl=1&dpID=41FjXsOtt6L&ref=plSrch

You can get one for £65 but slow Chinese mail vs the £90 from Amazon prime - but I've seen that going as low as £75.

After looking at the height of this, and the review above, I am leaning for the Chinese carbon...

Mine arrived yesterday, looks good feels very solid, and is a good height for me (6,3") would even suit someone taller than me, as with the head extended it towers above me. this should make those long exposure shots a lot easier :)
thanks OP
Mine's just arrived. Soooo much lighter than the MT055XPRO3/498RC2 combo I just sold, yet still feels very solid.

I was hoping the 3-way head came boxed separately, as it would be easier to sell on (I'm a ballhead guy!), but comes as a pre-packaged deal with tripod. Never mind... I'll see how I get on with the 804RC2.

Can't complain for under £130.

Not sure if it's easier to separate a photographer or a cyclist from their hard earned - especially if carboon fibre is mentioned! No doubt it's a good product but probably one that a tiny percentage of buyers will actually benefit from.
People who will be buying this will know what the benefits are as there is no competition when it comes to a cheapo tripod and this is a good deal. Haters gonna hate!
Nothing here says I'm a hater. I would like to know how 99% of photographers will benefit by spending £130 on a tripod though.
For your average twin kit user, probably no benefit at all. Though someone who uses it a lot would enjoy the weight reduction to humpf about.
Anyone with highe spec cameras and/or lenses it's a quick win. My camera bag easily weighs 5kg not including my non-cf tripod. It all adds up.

What sort of photography do you want to do, and how much do you consider "reasonably priced"?

williammatthewjackson
Looks a great price, thanks! I have a 600D and I'm considering going for this. Is it worth the upgrade or should I go straight to the 70D? Is this better in any aspects than the 70D? Any thoughts are appreciated.

What sort of photography do you want to do, and is there anything you find limiting or restrictive about the 600D? The 760D does have quite a few significant improvements and new features, but whether or not upgrading is worth it depends on if they're actually going to be useful to you.

Thank you. I've had a look through some specs online. I like the improved af - I find this a bit limiting. And I like the idea of the screen on the top. I'll have to have a think.

I didn't know about this lens !
I really like the Oly 25/1.8 but cost ~£100 more than this lens. The 20/1.7 is not bad at all , a bit wide sometimes as a normal and not as quick as the oly 25/1.8 .
Would not buy this without seeing reviews.

Panasonic lenses are all pretty good - especially the primes, so this looks a real bargain.
Same price at Clifton Cameras or Park Cameras.

It does look rather good value, less than half the price of the Panasonic Leica 25mm F1.4. Also cheaper than the Olympus 25mm F1.8, even with the cashback offer.
Should be great lens and maybe autofocus will be working better then the old 20mm f1.7
Looks like a good price but shame there is no review of it yet. Would be interesting to see how it compares to the classic and more pricey f1.4 Leica lens.

Great deal + 0% finance available!... now have to sell my d3200:) thanks for posting!
They offer PX ;-)
I have just got this camera and it is fantastic. solidly built (a bit heavy) but with loads of features some i may never get fully to grips with - pixel shift being one of them
I wouldn't use their px service, they offer properly low amounts which I understand they have to profit on but I'd sell privately if possible

I can't comment on Wex for Part exchange. but i did PX with Digital Depot and got a fair amount fpr my Kr and the K3II at a low price.

I like the idea of proper water-resistent sealing, not just "weather proofing". (Shame the lens isn't sealed though)

Love Kata, this one was too small for me but I still have two others.

Manfrotto merged with them so only manfrotto available now everything else will be old stock, lifetime warranty if i remember and a lovely rain cover in bright yellow/

I have one, it's a very well made bag, comes with a rain cover. Can be used as a traditional rucksack or a sling. It has some additional clippy straps for carrying a tripod.

I use it to carry my Lumix G stuff around, there's room for body with a long telephoto zoom, a spare body, a moderate zoom, and a few short lenses.

The only downside is there's no slot/sleeve for a 9" or larger tablet. You could probably fit a Nexus 7 into the top space though. Kata's next model up does have a tablet sleeve/slot, but the bag is quite a big bigger.
Small for a dslr, but superb for mirrorless - use it with my micro4/3 gear, for which it's perfect.
If you select the slower delivery option than next day then the total price can be as low as £26.99!

Ordered, thanks!

People saying is a tad too small and hard to access the kit on the reviews, any comments?
I guess it depends on the user - I do have this bag ( Wex gave it for free with new camera) and I only used it few times. I think it is a bit small. As someone mentioned - only a camera and 1-2 lenses depends what you got. It is also not the easiest one to quickly access it when you need it
Personally I prefer shoulder bag, but for a longer trip this bag might be better for your back.

Lowepro Urban Reporter 350 messenger camera bag £43.99 delivered @ WEX Photographic

Massive camera bag, use discount code URBAN-10 for £10 off. Free postage if spend over £50. Tempted myself but reckon it will be far too big for my Sony A7.

even the 250 is large which can fit a laptop + camera/lens, I cant imagine carrying that around on one shoulder let alone this bigger 350 model
Is very large... I ordered a 250 from a previous deal, but a 350 turned up. Could fit 5 cameras in it :-)
