Worked ok from within the Origin client though.

Off to park a tank in the aircraft hanger
Yeah, you'll have to manually alter the settings though but it's simple enough, there's a guide here: Widescreen/Resolution/FOV Fix
Battlefield Vietnam and Bad Company were two great ones in the series you missed. And BC2 had a nice Vietnam addon too.

..but this is THE game that paved the way for large scale combat games! I don't think it would be healthy to know how many hours, days or... er (years?) I spent playing this game as a teenager. The game itself was great but so was it's massive selection of total conversion mods.
You had desert combat (not really my mod of choice, but I know it was very popular), interstate 82, a pretty decent star wars mod, siege medieval warfare, and my absolute favourite mod to this day BF PIRATES!!
There must be some ex pirates floating around HUKD? :-)
I was part of the fiercesome crew Swords Crossed.. and went by the name of [=SC=]Cap'n Redweed. I'd love to have a full server game of pirates again, as I honestly think nothing modern has filled its place.
(Although BF2 had a pirates mod I think Dice killed the real potential of it by removing the support of massive MOVEABLE ships.)
Yaahaarr! I'm waffling now, but either way this is a deal! Infact now it's free, I think it should be a legal requirement to try this game at least once.. hehe!

Do you mean how to find out about these deals, or just how to find battlefield itself?
The easiest way for me to install Battlefield was to go to the Origin site, and login with my origin details there, I had some trouble finding it on the Origin program. store.origin.com/sto…_GB
