If you disconnect your car battery or plug to the radio - you need to re-enter the radio code before you can re-use

They usually use a donor battery to keep your codes from being wiped

Lets hope that YOUR car radio doesn't get stolen as a result of this post. Dealerships usually have a system whereby the unlock code can be re-supplied if one can prove ownership of the vehicle.

I'm sorry to put a downer on this post as I'm sure, to some, it will be a great help. Unfortunately, it also helps those who want to steal from us.

Most of the car radios on that site have just learnt of CD's. I doubt many of these radios even exist anymore... Unless your scared your old cassette player is going to get knicked! Most newer cars have a better than aftermarket alternative nowadays. I guess these aftermarket lot have their own niche now...

Renault charges £18 to give you the 4-digit secret code for unlocking the audio system. So this one is a money saver for me. :-)

Can download the programs them here for Ford codes - really easy to use!

And people on ebay have the cheek to charge for them! (99p)
