Bananas just 37p per kg @ Aldi

£0.37

182°

FOUND BY: Premier 1 month, 1 week ago

Before you vote this cold because there is an active deal on here for Tesco Value Bananas for just 35p, be aware that that is the price per pack and according to independent price checker, mysupermarket.co.uk, those packs are not 1kg. In fact they say the unit price is 70p/kg

Loose bananas in the large supermarkets are currently priced 45p - 50p per kilogramme
(Edit: Asda bananas are 38p/kg - thanks to pidgeofcdf for the pointer)
Btw, the ones in my local Aldi were Fyffes Costa Rica bananas - the same as sold loose by Tesco

Bearing in mind these Aldi bananas are almost half the price of the Tesco Value bananas, which is currently @ 588 degrees, lets see how useful the temperature of deals function on HUKD really is shall we?

lol.

You are correct
I didn't check Asda , but they are indeed 38p/kg
The two I did check were Sainsbury (45p/kg) and Tesco (50p/kg)

Still, 37p/kg from Aldi still beats them all.

And if you don't have a Tesco near you then the dels there are no good anyway so this one automatically becomes valid - heat added.

Any relevant competitive offer that makes inroads into Te$co's unhealthy position in the supermarket pecking order is hot for me!

I'm a greengrocer and can tell you that these are below cost. Very unfair for independent businesses like mine.

I work for a high street bank that always seem to be in the news for the wrong reasons - all the press and general public trash talk and the abuse that customers give is very unfair. You still have a job just like me so get over it. You will probably have a job for longer than me as well. Merry Xmas.

well i believe in the free market and i know its competition and all that. If they wish to sell their produce BELOW COST then its up to Aldi.

No harm however, in highlighting why you no longer see butchers, fishmongers, greengrocers and bakers on the high street any more
