Just in case you are after a replacement: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/iiyama-gb3466wqsu-b1-34inch-144hz-1ms-curved-ultrawide-monitor-3579179 I just thought of your 'mishap' as soon as I saw this.
What's your moral stance OP? A) it's an expensive lesson -or- B) Take out some accidental damage cover and retrospectively claim for the monitor (with the date of incident suitably adjusted) Of course, someone will no doubt be quick to point out that (B) does amount to insurance fraud, however this wouldn't concern me because I have been ripped off by insurance companies in the past, so I am more than happy to equalise the score.
If you purchased using a credit card, some include accidental damage, but they're normally the cards you pay a monthly service fee for. Same as some banks may include cover Otherwise...... More likely...... Oops, lesson learned
Yep. £479 down the drain. Deep breaths.
no cover means its a life lesson, I have has this happen to a tv before, I now own contents insurance so you should def be looking into it for peace of mind.

I've edited it now to look like it's meant to look like lol.
Where it says brightness 200mc2 thingy and then 71... Is that something you can change?
