The speed quoted will be max with small packets and the fastest machine they have.

What are you using to test?
Are you using the adapter? As that will slow it down.
What format are you using on the card?

Download and test the card with H2testw, it is a free program that will test the read/write speeds and the real capacity of the card.

Also be aware that the quoted speeds are usually for USB 3, so will be slower for USB2 and a lot slower for USB1, and that other devices using the USB system may also slow down read/write speeds.

It also depends on your PC being able to handle those read/write speeds.

The above program will give let you know if the card is genuine, or a Chinese fake.

    Absolutely agree.
My Extreme Plus Sandisk thru a Kingston MobileLiteG3 usb Reader into a USB3 port tested like this:

Warning: Only 121909 of 121910 MByte tested.
    Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
    Writing speed: 73.5 MByte/s
    Reading speed: 80.3 MByte/s
    H2testw v1.4

What read speed does it achieve, if that's only 20-ish, then your adapter is not operating in U-mode.

The micro to full SD adapter makes no difference, it's just a connection shifter.
