Is it fast enough for, for example, 2 people living in a flat? No gaming, probably a fair bit of video streaming via YouTube. And then just general internet surfing.

Depends on where you live from the exchange..

See I live very close to the exchange, as such I can get 24mb over ADSL2 but becuase I live so close my line is and EO (Exchange Only) Line meaning no green box on my street in fact they had to install one at the exchange for me to get Fibre on my street, the kicker is that my Fibre maxes out at 24mb!!

So if you live close to the exchange then ADSL is fine as long as 24mb MAX will support your needs and from what you describe it will.. but remember to take into account other things, as the stability of the line will almost be far better with fibre than ADSL and as such you will get a more stable connection..

This is a great deal... THANX. Anyone aware of any codes or discounts for SKY TV in conunction with this? I keep hearing whipsers of 75% off and things but the most I have ever been offered is 50% off..;;
My BT fibre deal is ending soon, seriously considering going back to standard BB at these prices.

Do BT still do line rental saver?
iand123
I use Top Cash Back instead of Quidco. Found them more reliable in tracking. I got a package from BT last year. They gave me a £150 pre-loaded cashcard and I received £106.05 cashback via Top Cash Back. I also paid my 12 month's line rental upfront and saved a bit more. Very happy with paying next to nothing net and I get a constant 52MB connection. dreading when my 12 month's are up and i have to move to an inferior provider. Hope this helps someone.

Its funny but when I was ordering just over a month ago everyone in the BT deal thread was saying use Quidco instead because its much more reliable (even though the payout was lower). Glad I ignored them, I generally find TopCashback more reliable and have had no problems on this occasion either. Though I did have to chase BT for the reward card...
HammerTime10
Made £200 of BT reward card and £80 TCB. last month.
Shame the service is [email protected] lol not wonder they offer some much for you to sign up haha15mbs?!!"

What minimum speed to they say you would get when you signed up, if you should be getting more then get in touch with them.

They've messed mine up, getting 73mb on my infinity 1 package. :D
Mandz27
I just signed up yesterday at £34.99 pm and only £85 reward card! Why do they pull stunts like this, I wouldn't feel so bad if it had at least been a few weeks between offers.

There's usually a higher cashback offer when the value of the gift card drops.
Madchester
Maybe I could transfer to sky saving the cancellation fee, then cancel sky within cooling off period and then sign up for BT as a new customer. It might sound like faff but I've just come to the end of 12M on BT fibre with bt tv and 2 x 2GB sims and all together it has worked out under £10 per month so if I can get similar again it's worth it.

True but by the time you order BT again the cashback/card may be a lot lower or it could be more. When you cancel with Sky will you get charged a fee or not? Might as well see what BT offer you first. Might be the same price you are paying at the minute but of course without the cashback & all.

Just as a point of clarity on the following statements:The Barclaycard Platinum travel card has no fees on spending or cash withdrawals overseas till August 2022, giving a decent amount of certaintyBut if you’ll mainly take out cash, Barclaycard’s zero interest if paid in full makes it a winner as you can wait for the statement when you get back!
There is definitely no 'currency' or interest due fee on an ATM withdrawal overseas but as far as I can tell from the Ts and Cs you will still pay a 2.99% cash withdrawal fee if you use an ATM abroad, unless I am misreading it, just thought it might be worth clarifying with Barclaycard as initially thought from your comments that ATM cash withdrawals abroad were free but am not so sure from reading their Ts and Cs?Update - just spoke to Barclaycard, initially they told me that you do pay interest on cash withdrawals abroad from the date of withdrawal until payment but then after they checked the details on the card they assured me that there are ZERO charges, interest, conversion or withdrawal fees when taking cash from a foreign ATM provided you choose the 'currency' and do not select sterling value as some ATMs offer as an option.
In summary - fantastic card if you travel regularly and even better knowing you can take cash out and not pay for it for a while after you return potentially, nice find OP, heat added too.

Thanks for checking this out, banks are very good at hiding fees. I took a card away with me last time that they told me had no transaction charges but when I got back there were conversion fees on my statement & they add up believe me.

excellent work!!!
Also don't forget The Barclaycard* Platinum travel card has no fees on spending or cash withdrawals overseas till August 2022,

Very droll!

The actual text from their website states No non-sterling transaction fees on your foreign spend and ATM withdrawals until 31 August 2022

If you actually read the Ts and Cs it is still not clear re ATM withdrawal fees and even the Barclaycard staff member wasn't sure and incorrectly provided charging information and had to check with a colleague as she couldn't confirm my question from their details about the card.

My parents have the G5 (I am 90% sure it was the plus) and have to say it looks and feels very nice. Only later I seen some article saying it lacks a compass, not a biggie for them but apparently a little annoying if you want use the navigation. (Only mentioning as you may want to do a bit of research on this before buying). I'm still considering one for my wife when her birthday comess around, to replace an aging S4.
Yes I thought the G5 plus had a compass. Anyway think may hold off for little. As I think Motorola may be introducing some new phones G range. Very soon. :D

Given their CS seems so poor/non-existent, have you considered a Chinese import? Certainly the Xiaomi Mi5/zuk z2 pro would be much more of an upgrade than the Wileyfox!
I am leaning towards possibly these Chinese brands. Which one would you recommend under 200 quid. Always had Sony, Samsung HTC. How do hold up against the big boys reference updates, build quality etc.
I would recommend the Huawei P8 lite 2017 for a sub £200 phone. Lots of good features including NFC and great build quality.

Hi, is this better or equal to Redmi Note 4. Waiting for grey / black 4GB RN4 deal

Redmi Note 4 (Global) is surely a step up from this? You can get the 4GB/64GB, SD625 global version (band 20) for just over 130 quid. No warranty but from comments I've seen regarding Wileyfox's CS probably not a biggie in comparison...
My friends phone is having issues wileyfox has been absolute rubbish when it comes to customer services.

i know but instore bit is usually at the end, and dont know how many reads that far before clicking :)

at least there should be some kind of catchy indicator/logo/avatar at the front of the title ? like a goose avatar maybe? for people to avoid it quickly :)

like someone commented, these goose chases should have their own corner i think... they are not exactly deal when we are talking about single items left to clear...
the clue is in the the title 'instore'
i know how to read the title mate, i m not objecting the posting, but should be a kind of separate section for these... as majority of these are single items left to clear and leads to goose chases... yes it is a deal, but very special kind of deal for storm chasers...
that was my point .........IF it says instore in title its usually a goose chase so don't click on it.

Are these waterproof?
At the heart of it all is something very similar to a mini sim card so yes, the card is waterproof. But I'm not sure about the fobs/bands/etc that hold the card, as I have placed my card in something else.

I tried one of these with my small business last year, big mistake, high fees and then Paypal withheld money because they thought I was money laundering, had to jump through hurdles to get our cash back.
Who are you using now? I know somebody using Square but they have equally poor reviews online

We have a iZettle reader but use it as little as possible as our main products are high value made to order so prefer bank transfer to keep fees low, the reader is useful for low value sales for parts and repairs etc, but it's not a fully fledged card machine and comes with a few limitations, the Paypal reader caught us off guard, a customer offered to pay £1500 via card, we accepted, Paypal withheld the money until we provided company reg, vat, photo ID, etc etc, and then whammed us with an extortionate fee.

Paypal are complete ******. i advertised an antique peace pipe on ebay.
Ebay had no problems with it but God (Paypal) spoke and closed my 12 year old account AND are now holding my funds in my account for 180 because..... i sold drugs paraphernalia!
it wasn't a bong or cannabis fgs, its a 100+ year old pipe.
Paypal have now got power hungry.
I have been using iZettle for about a year and think it is great! No problems whatsoever.

the only place I've found DOUBLE DATA is via the family SIMS, buy 3 for £38 works out @ £12.66 each for 12GB (was 6GB) with unlimited calls and texts. also includes a £50 amazon voucher, which is probably per order and not per sim
Add and remove SIMs when you like. Family SIMs adapt to you. One SIM has a 12 month contract, but additional SIMs have flexible 30 day terms.
Topcashback is offering £50 cashback, but states "Customers that claim cashback on SIMO products will not be eligible for a voucher"
Could be that the email was read incorrectly. It showed £12 pm when you buy three family sims

How could we put a card in credit? if it's like a payment from the linked account to the halifax credit card, how is that done? ie, I guess the credit card won't have a bank account and sort code, so where should the payment for the credit be sent?
It's called online banking!!
I've just opened a Clarity account and transferred 4k on to it for my holiday spending money in a couple of weeks.

I've been in Gran Canaria for 2 weeks, put card £1500 in credit, used to purchase & for cash ATM withdrawals, statement issued yesterday - no charges, they can't charge you debit interest when your in credit, exchange rate also beat they best available on the market and is better than bank staff get ( sister works in a bank ). I've been using it for 10 years with no complaints

Mine and partners £20 cashbacks both became available about 3 weeks after we returned from our holiday. Bought 2 items whilst away (one on each card) for around £7 - £8 each (only paid in local currency , in this case dollars) ..... then £40 back , nice ;)

That's the fee for withdrawals. The interest rate is over 24% that you'll pay that until you've cleared the balance. I got the earlier version that came me 0% interest until August 2018 on cash withdrawals aswell.

Mines the same. They extended the introductory period to 2022.

"Non–sterling transaction fee waived
from account opening until 31 August 2022

...And until 31 August 2022 you won't pay a non–sterling transaction fee on your foreign ATM withdrawals or spend.

Use your Barclaycard abroad and benefit from Visa's competitive exchange rate. Plus you can get up to 56 days interest-free on all non-sterling transactions. As long as you pay the main balance and any Purchase Plan instalments due on your statement each month, you will not incur interest from the date of the non-sterling transaction until it is repaid."

I guess the in-store wording and the fact you have to wait are why it's gone cold, even though it's a great way of getting Amazon vouchers far cheaper (especially if you use the £5 friend family referrals).
Oops, probably should have stated that they can easily be converted to Amazon vouchers, had another one arrive in the post just yesterday. Once it's delivered just pop in the details here and they give an instant code- one4allgiftcard.co.uk/amazon
One4all on Zeek says in store only. Am I missing something?
Not a personal code, was found right here on the Zeek vouchers page. This offer is ofc best for those who've never used Zeek or who use Amazon a load.
Is that code (2VCRB6) a personal referral code ?

UK to bring in drone registration
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-40684581

The DJI Spark weighs 300g so according to today's news will eventually need registering and for the user to take a safety course. Seems like a sensible idea to me. Thought it may be of interest to those purchasing.
any deals on combo?
I've got one - it's ace even without the remote! The range seems good to me - I'd be too scared to send it much further!

As for seeing drones at distance I'm not going into figures but I have never really flown out of site but have had my GoPro at some serious altitude and can still see it but the butts on these are black which I suppose helps.
Problem with laws it's hard to implement them but I'm guessing it will get stronger as more accidents happen.

I'm not trying to tell poeple how they can fly, only pointing out what is permitted within the law, if someome chooses to break those laws thats their look out but people should at least be aware what is and is not permitted..

Thanks for that. Those aren't in my nearest branch sadly. Have you tried the burgers? Any good?
Yep, very nice - recommend. They normally sell out quicker than the sausages in my local.

Excellent - note can mix and match with the Quorn Chefs selection burgers too.

Just found out I can get 12 month membership via John Lewis for £150 payment. That's a saving of around 25% on the yearly membership. Alternatively it is 38% off any single tickets.

Me too. But when I go that route there is no opportunity to add the code, so no gift card.
Note that unlike Cineworld the use of meerkat movies is excluded from limitless.

Try contacting Odeon or go through with it as it's a separate gift card that comes with the card I think

I couldn't get through to them so I bit and I'll try chat tomorrow for request on the gift card. Fingers crossed. Nice one

I use plastic cards to smooth down filler in small areas - saves having to clean other tools. Also very useful to scrape across bee stings - another true story!

1.5% fee... Fcuk that

much better to get shorter term with no fee and transfer at end if you have debt
It is now optimised. I agree I'm not a fan mind. Took it out of a NIL fee last year and they added 3% so i queried it and they denied offering nil fee so i sent the confirmation email confirming what it said and they ignored it.
Also. I made a large purchase on it and paid it off the same month to avoid interest but they applied the payment against the previous months balance and then charged me interest on the purchase. I'm not expert but i thought it was standard practice to apply payment against interest accruing balances first.
Would avoid personally.[/quote]

If you paid the amount off before your purchase appeared on a statement, the payment would have been applied to the previous months balance.

Also, avoid spending on a balance transfer card because unless you have a 0% purchase offer, you'll usually pay interest on the purchase from the purchase date unless you clear the balance in full (including the balance transferred).

My experience last/this year with a Virgin Credit card has been bad.

No mobile app (just madness in 2017)
Website for the online account isn't optimised for either mobile and strangely, nor is it optimsed for normal use either.
Asked them to close my account but they left it open for a further 3 months.
8 months after closing the account they send a 'live' account statement to my previous address.
Each time I've called their customer service they sound very inexperienced and you worry that they can actually resolve anything.

these cards are going up in price every months WTF is going on?

It's a combination of the £ continuing to fall in value, and increases in the price of flash memory caused by manufacturers struggling to meet demand while they retool their factories with newer manufacturing processes. The trend will continue across all kinds of memory for the next year or two.

There's nothing wrong with the machine spec wise. It's a little expensive imo as this is ultrabook territory. It's asking a bit much for a plastic build despite the very good technical specs.

I read that if it they returned a fake card that wasn't opened Amazon would just sell it as normal without selling it through the warehouse. Worrying as it means buying direct from Amazon wouldn't guarantee you a genuine card.
