stripped screw on Euro Cylinder

The screw has probably seized in the lock. If its an older lock then just snap it off. Remove the surrounding plate and grab the protruding lock top and bottom with mole grips. Then apply some pressure down and up. It should snap off and allow you to change the lock.

Edit: lots of examples on YouTube. The older ones are not very secure.

Yes this ^^ does work.

ok thanks. lock works but key can get suck and you can release by opening the door then locking with it open if that makes sense, but long term want to get a new one. Thing is hard to measure unless it`s taken out but if i snap it will need the new one ready to install :-/

It would be better if you had a new one on hand. Measure from the screw to the end of the lock each side and get a replacement with those dimensions. A straight edge across the lock face may make measuring easier while it is in the door. Don't forget to spend extra on an anti-snap one.

lock is about 8/9 years old was a new build flat, lock by winkhaus no idea how good it is assume not great but part of multi point system did not want to muck around too much

Have you tried spraying WD40 or GT85 in the lock, On the key and all over the multi locking points as they do require maintenance.

Yes did the WD first then read not a good idea as might attract more gunk- needs graphite spay for inside locks seems.

I always use WD40 or GT85 but I guess graphite or this would be better amazon.co.uk/WD-…1CK
