Would you need to restart the router more often? I'm renewing broadband again in the coming weeks and looking at options like this...

But I have questions!I have slow fixed line broadband (<10Mb).I have fast Vodafone 4G (around 40Mb) but their version of this deal is much more expensive.According to the Three coverage checker, I'm on the edge of a no-service area, so I'm not sure what speed I might get. So to test this properly, I would need a 4G antenna that I could mount at the top of the telegraph pole (isn't it weird that we still call them that!) that's *right* next to my house. The Three/Huawei B311 says "1 SMA external antenna optional" so I presume that I can plug in an external antenna.I presume that the Huawei B525 also accepts an external antenna. Can anyone tell me if this is the sort of thing I need?:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Poynting-4G-XPOL-A0001-Cross-Polarised-Antenna/dp/B00C1DGFPSIt comes with two cables so the router would need two (SMA?) sockets. And where is the best place to look for more info on this topic? AVForums?Heated.

So despite being an electronic engineer and knowing there is always a chance of bricking the box on update which I really did not want, after 5days of the message I went ahead with the update, at which it promptly went dead and I had to take it back tot the shop where I was told that every single one had done the same thing and it had to be sent to the warranty repair shop where they had to open up the box and manually re flash it as there was some design fault.....Also after several years the total bandwidth counter has gone over 500GB downloaded and at that point the monthly bandwidth usage counter went completely nuts and I imagine there has been some variable overflow. I thinking about resetting it to see if it fixes it...Also the security configuration options for advanced users are very limited...

B311 is Download 150/ Upload 50Mb/s Category 4 device - old old tech with 2x2 Mimo, (sister Three Ireland ended B3xx National Broadband Network gov contract, Three Ireland now use B525)
I’ve got a Huawei B612 and it performs brilliantly & I’m in a area surrounded by thousands of uni students all on Three unlimited plans...internet to go basically.
Defo recommend order online with 14 days return to test a Three sim. You can do the same with Amazon on a Huawei B525 or above.
Today
I can get fibre that cost much more, but I can take this other places and plug in and BROADBAND
