Take this with a massive pinch of salt, but the latest buzz on the net is Xbox is set announce they are making Xbox live free! Kinda see where the rumor comes from as they have other revenue streams such as Gamepass. What do you think?

sorted byHopefully this means multiplayer could go free, but it could mean we'll have to buy Ultimate going forward.
I wouldn't be surprised if multiplayer does goes free. Or if people's existing Gold gets converted to Ultimate. It would fit in with their pro-consumer marketing. (edited)
You’ve listed a lot of games there, but a large number of which I wouldn’t go near. Tell Me Why, Bartlow’s Dread Machine (from a couch coop perspective) and The Medium look interesting, but not enough to warrant picking up the Series X just yet.
Just not really into first person or FPS games at all but I can see why people would be jumping into it for games like Bright Memory Infinite, Second Extinction and Scorn, they do look impressive.
An expensive console doesn’t look impressive sat on a shelf switched off.
They really don't have a bigger output or more variety though.
Then consider quality. Look at the 40 Best Exclusives of this generation.

PS4 = 20 Titles
Switch = 14 Titles
Xbox = 6 Titles 2 were Ori and 3 were Forza, so yeah that's massive variety. And the final one was Titanfall whose sequel was Multiplat.
When @joeydeacon expressed his opinion that he's not a Xbox target customer, you argued that his opinion was wrong. That's the type of thing that makes you come of as a fanboy.
This.
They have pretty much managed to get everyone invested into the Xbox brand with £1 Game Pass upgrades and they will just add all-you-can-eat live and X Cloud access into the equation. Everyone will feel that invested they will feel compelled to renew their Game Pass (or whatever they choose to call it) Subscription - only in the future there is absolutely no way in the world they will make a loss with £1 subs, it will cost everyone a lot more to renew. In the absence of any real quality 1st party games / Series X exclusives not available on any other platform, or high end first party studios, it’s really smart marketing on Microsoft’s part. I own both a PS4 and Xbox along with a multitude of other systems, not really into one platform vs the other but my PlayStation gets used on a regular basis, the Xbox less so and that has been the case for some time. It’s all subjective of course and everyone will have their own preferences, but it’s going to need some seismic shift in their strategy for me to buy into the whole Series X thing. It’s all about the games and for me personally they just don’t have them, they haven’t for a while, I see no reason to buy the Series X at this point.
Don’t get me wrong I see where they are going with their brand and who their target market is, I accept I don’t fall within that. (edited)
God this guy is a ridiculous Xbox fan boy, can't even see any negatives with them.
He also reels out this not very impressive list of games to defend them including things like Psychonauts 2 which is coming to EVERYTHING, Minecraft Dungeons also on everything, and "exclusives" which are on PC for dirt cheap.
Someone makes a comment on how Games as a service is a good business move for Microsoft especially with their 1st party output not being great. Then you chime in with a statement that "They have a bigger output and variety of games than both Sony and Nintendo combined" which makes you a Xbox fan boy.
You came with the same thing in a thread about every console, so yeah fanboy.
