Hi all,
My mother purchased the K553 Asus laptop recently listed on HUKD from Currys.
It was delivered today but says K513EA on the box
Are these one of the same or have they sent me the wrong laptop
Thank you in advance for any replies

You'll notice they reference 513. I suspect that the models share a common motherboard and then the different numbers reflect different specification configurations.

Not a lot of difference mind you.

But a search on the web for that gets no hits
A search on "ASUS 90NB0SG2" gets hits, but none with M31180 after them.

Thanks will check as per your suggestion
They are two different models for sure. Can you post a link to the product page you purchased it from, and if you are able, post a screenshot of your system info? To access system info just start to type 'system' into your Windows search bar and click 'system information' when it appears at the top of the tab
The one on your link is S553 as opposed to K553 - but thanks for the info regarding typing system into windows search bar - will do it this weekend when I go to my folks
That's a pretty big accusation to be making, this is Currys not some random on aliexpress
As says, 553 looks to be a member of the 513 model set. Another buyer should be able to confirm and/or open and check the hardware specs or call ASUS support.
Update: Try entering the serial number on the support section of the ASUS website, should confirm model. (edited)
Obviously currys buys loads of laptops so they can dictate ASUS to do this for them...
